Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the RPF. I'm a huge '89 Batman fan. I cosplay and collect '89 Batman toys, accessories, etc. I look forward to chatting with you and hope I can bring something to the party.

Hi All!
So after months reading the forums here I thought it might be time to register. I collect mainly Star Wars Lego but have also started to collect other Star Wars memorabilia thanks the information available on this site.

Hi!

I been a lurker for a while so decided to join up. I have a small Star Wars collection consisting of Hot Toys and a few replica props with some Indiana Jones and Potter thrown in. This site is full of stuff that exists nowhere else.

Should've post this a long time ago

Hi everyone, I'm from Montreal, Canada. 25 y.o. currently member of the Mandolorian Mercs Costume Club, working on some other stuff.
Still amaze averyday by the work you guys here can do

Hi ladies and gents,

My name is Onur (Honour) and I hail from Turkey. I've been lurking these forums for quite a while now and finally decided to build my first ever cosplay costume, so thought maybe I should join up and ask some questions.

About me; I work as a freelance translator (English-Turkish) and mostly localize video games into Turkish (have a small game localization company). I love my job and would love to bring life to characters that I love through cosplay. I learned quite a lot just by following posts and reading books on foamsmithing etc., but any work I do will be amateurish. I AM open to constructive criticism :)

Hello,

I've been referencing stuff on here on and off for Halloween costume build guidance the last couple years. I just recently decided to bump my game up to an EVA foam Iron Man or Batman costume and thought it time to join. Below are a couple (not so great quality) pics of my costumes I made.

I look forward to future contributions and collaborations!

Hey all,

Figure I'd post here before poking around asking for help. I'm a college student living in the California Bay Area working on a computer science degree. I have been into arduino, cosplay and machining for a while. I took a machining class at my school just for fun, ended up making a fully machined lightsaber with sound and lights. I hope I can be of service to anyone here as I will need some help myself.

Hi I'm very happy I found this forum! I'm big into swords and fantasy. Thanks for letting me me a part of this community!

Hi I'm new here and I'm not very good with crafts and creativity regarding my hands. I recently just purchased a Jamie Lannister Sword Replica and I was wondering if there were anyone here who is good at or knows someone good at making scabbards so I can commission a replica of the Jamie Lannister Sword replica. Thanks so much everyone!

Just arrived here, and happy I finally joined. I imagine I'm less interested in the actual props than most-I'm more interested in the process of making them. Making replicas is as good a way as any to learn this process. My main interest is sci-fi, and I look forward to discussing with all you people in the future!

Heya everyone I'm Kiara and am looking forward to starting a build thread soon on a 3D printer mark 46 iron man suit! Let the stress begin!

Hey Makers!
My Name is Joe (it´s calles Joachim where I live) and I am from Saarland Germany. I found this page over a thread about a Chewbacca costume, which I would love to build.
Unfortunately my skills are very low at this point but I´m always willing to learn some new cool stuff!

I hope this community is as cool as it seems to be. :)

Have a nice day!

Joe

Hey everyone !

I'm a bit new there, but I've often been sneaking around here, to find some inspirations for my costumes... Time to introduce myself.
I'm Briac (yup, real name, even in France, it sounds weird, it comes from Brittany), a French LARPer, and law student. I love making costumes (and wearing them), and I like finding ideas here and there, in series, movies, or even books.

Apart from some LARP costumes, I made a full Saruman costume, a jedi master costume (just lacking the belt to join the Rebel Legion French base), and a Ned Stark costume.(I just wrote the word "costume" frice in this sentence... Ugh... sorry...)

I hope I'll find some more ideas here, and people just as mad as I am !

Hello everyone!

I have been a plastic modeler off and on my entire life. Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated with taking things apart to find out how they worked. My misspent youth was populated with building models and rockets and reading lots of SF. And Star Trek. I devoured the technical manuals and blueprints! Then I discovered movie magic with Star Wars, the Apes movies and the rest that pioneered the current state of the art! I was so fascinated by the sets and props and wanted to learn so much more. Resources were very thin back then. Until I discovered Starlog magazine! Mind blown!

Of course, modeling came into play because I wanted to recreate those things in real life. I had a few amateur attempts at drain pipe light sabers! LOL! Eventually real life took over. I put the hobby life on the shelf for a few years. When I picked it up again, things had changed. Conventions were a thing. The hobby gods invented photo etching and LEDs. Reference books were available! Inspiration was everywhere! I putzed around with things for a few years, but the demands of life took over. I packed everything away for "one day in the future." That was about 15 years ago.

Over the years, occasionally my curiosity would get the better of me. I'd surf the net and would wind up on some type of hobby related forum or here. I'd read myself silly but never had the time to organize my workshop and unpack my stuff. I could only lurk for a bit then return to the grind.

I now have some time on my hands recovering from some surgery. I started down the rabbit hole a few weeks ago when I stumbled across a video of someone building one of Steve Neil's Big E kits and was as blown away as I had been as a kid! Steve, if you ever read this, Thank you (I think, LOL) for relighting the flame!

Of course, one thing led to another and here I am... a Padawan among Jedi. While the basic hobby and scrounging skills will come back with a bit of practice and polishing, I know next to nothing about the low voltage lighting and sound effects so I expect a steep learning curve. While my re-sparked interest is in Star Trek at the moment, who knows where this passion will lead. I placed an order a few days ago for a 1/350 scale TOS Enterprise with all of the bells and whistles. Depending on how that goes, it may lead to another...

So, I plan to get my workshop up and running this winter and spring and I plan to have that Enterprise front and center. I hope to be able to contribute and I'm sure I will take more than I give at first. Thank you for this great forum! I'm looking forward to my time here!

Propper Newbie!

Hi guys n girls

My name is Robin, I'm 56 and live in the UK.

I have been looking at some of the amazing stuff you can do with a bit of foam a knife and some glue - Awesome!
I dont know if I have the skills to do the stuff that comes next like contouring and painting but I'm going to give it a shot anyways.
Never ever done anything like this before so expect Lots and Lots of questions, bugging and general irritations from me while I pick up the tips and tricks of the craft LoL.

I really couldn't decide which to start off with as there are so many brilliant costumes to do, so I have plumed for the Stargate cowl bird (sg-chirp.pdo) and also downloaded the free program Pepakura designer 4 - Nice little program for free! - ok, I think I'm waffling now and maybe this should now go into another post somewhere lol

Anyways - great to be here and looking forward to getting to know some of you

Rob.

Hey Everybody;
My name is Jack, and I was speaking to a co-worker aboutsome of the projects that I have done in the past with my 3d Printer, and some exciting projects that I have been working on now and some that I have planned for the future, and he told me about this site, and thought it would be theplace for me.
After a quick zip around the forum, he was right; this is the place for me. I have always enjoyed tinkering and building stuff with my printer, and soon I will post some of my latest projects, but though most projects were one of a kind and had purpose for just me. I see that maybe I can do more of what I like to do, tinker and build stuff, but for many! Wahoo what a world.
I will look forward to participating in the near future.
Thanks for the invite..
Jack B
