FNG reporting for duty :)

I'm currently building Star Wars 3D printed props for myself as quick as my printer can print them.

Been a Star Wars fan since the late 70's and enjoying the new movies just as much.

Hi, David from Sydney Australia, about to embark on a Hiro (Bih Hero 6) for my son and then a Baymax 2.0 for me to match. Looks like an amazing community here, knowledgaeble and generous. Slowly working my way through JFcustoms thread re foam builds. Grabbed a foam Hiro model from etsy (the paper ones were way too complicated and I didn't think translated to foam well - google pepakura to foam and ended up here!)

Hope to tackle and Iron Man for my son and War Machine for myself next year.

Hello everyone!

I am French Canadian and my alias is from the french version of Miami Vice "Miracle Man". I am a big STNG fan. I usually don't post in forums but I was inspired by Adams Savage videos and decided to join the community.

Hey everyone,
I've been lurking this site for some time and am blow away by the talent of the artists here. What an awesome resource for fellow "builders" like myself. I have a few projects that I hope to be posting soon but nothing right now. Have to get a decent camera first. My main interest is with Sci-fi models but I also like props and hope to do some cool reproductions too.

Hello all, and good day. or good night whichever is more fitting

Joined this wonderful place in order to ask for help and search for ideas
I have very little experience in prop making however the few i have made have gotten nothing but compliments

Hey, everyone.
I'm from Australia and my building interests are mostly model based.
I love building sci-fi kits and WW11 era planes.
I joined this forum in the hopes of learning new techniques, pick up a few tips and hopefully show off my work to get advice and constructive criticism.
My current builds include a 1/650 ATM Enterprise, 1/48 P-51 mustang and Anakins Podracer from Star Wars.

I hope everyone is having a lovely day.

Hi y'all, I'm Fiene from germany, and a long time lurker who finally chose to make an account. Star Wars is my main fandom, and I like cosplay and building stuff, even though I'm a noob. (Which is why I'm here.. to learn. Hopefully.)

Hello all, Kimberly here. Long time lurker, thought it was time to finally make an account. I love costuming, and I'm just getting into cosplay and prop building (hopefully!).

Hello everyone! I'm from Chile, currently living in Buenos Aires Argentina. I'm an architect so I think I can blame my love for home-made props (mainly for my kids) on the long hours spent over models and drawings. I love crafting but I battle with procrastination and the stay-at-home-homeschooling-mom schedule!
I got to this page by watching some YouTube vids since I'm working on my first full Star Wars armor (helmet and body armor) . My son asked If I could make him the new Rogue One Shoretrooper suit and here I am!
My first "props" were LOTR Sting sword, Thorin Oakenshield's sword and Gimli's Axe, all done in cardboard so my kids could play and hit each other "safely" LOL
I'll post pics!

Hello, I am here due to searching for Doctor Strange costume designs and help. I've only heard of this site thanks to Commander Holly from YouTube and I'm glad I checked it out. I lack the experience of making costumes/cosplay, but I do find it very fun and well rewarding.

Hello, my name is Shane. Though I normally go by Spartan, on most of the sites that I'm on.
I'm an amateur prop making/cosplayer. I got into the wonderful world of cosplay earlier this year and I must say, I'm hooked!
I've always been a creator, from as far back as I can remember I've built stuff with LEGO or made random helmets out of scraps of cardboard I found around my house.
I'll be uploading pics of my finished props and a lot of WIP pics on future projects.
Prop making is now a passion of mine, and I would like to show others it's not as hard as it may look. ;)

Hi there. Curro here, from Spain. Been reading around this and that for a time now and decided to step in and say hello. Mainly interested in SW and building stuff. Now busy learning about silicons and resins and painting and the lot. Learning it the hard way as Confucious said "The told me, and I forgot. I saw it and I understood. I did it and I learned it".
Some day I hope I´would be able to be of some help to someone here and that way pay the lessons learned from you all.
thanks.

Hey all. Midwestern filmmaker here from the Detroit area. I have been familiar with the facebook page for awhile, but as I was searching for a solution to my cellphone props issue, I came across this and decided to give it a try.

I hate to just jump right into it in my "introduction post" but I could really use any prop master or art directors advice. I have a decent stash of dummy cellphones, but often a film will need a phone to actually work on screen. Usually a low budget thing where I or the talent offer ours up (I know probably a kind of no no, but you all know all for one, one for all spirit on low busget indies) Well thefulm I am on now is still lower budget, but calls for at least 9 carachters sending/receiving texts, snapchatting, recording video, etc.... so I need to know if there is anything short of buying a bunch of phones and service plans (powering up wont be enough, they will need some kind of service to text and so on).

The prop rental places I have called only have dummys. Any help, advice or pointing me in a direction will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Brion

Hello all. I'm a 30-something female from Harrisburg, PA and I've been making my own costumes and cosplaying since about 2000 (holy crap 16 years).

I'm a SUPER creative individual with a knack for problem-solving. I'm employed as an artist but I'm an avid crafter/writer/mom in my time at home. I'm entirely self-taught when it comes to sewing and I've been sewing since middle school-ish time.

My main interest is Star Wars cosplay (long wish-list of costumes) but I'm hoping to one day have an Agent Carter cosplay costume completed.

I'm weird and I've never been to a con. I mostly make costumes for movie premieres and events.

So ah...yeah. Someone else please go.

Hi guys, I'm Norman and although I have always appreciated movie props and costumes I don't consider myself a collector. But I went all-out last Halloween and made a fairly accurate Ghostbusters costume (as accurate as you can get with some cardboard, arduino and two days to put everything together xD ) and that was a lot of fun!
Now I have joined the forum because making my own SW lightsaber is long overdue... ;)

Hello Everyone,

I must say I'm very happy to finally be a member of this great community. I found it about a month or two ago after finding another member's WIP. I followed his links, and here I am!

I love being able to spend hours just bouncing from post to post reading all of the interesting techniques people have come up with to recreate props from various media. I've always been interested in making and creating but I always felt whatever I would create would never amount to much. I think this site will help inspire me to approach prop building with a little more confidence.

My greatest project yet is an animatronic puppet of Wheatley from Portal 2. Here's a direct link to it on my website: https://animatronicwheatley.com/wheatley-v1-0/

I've got another, better version in the works. Just acquiring funds at this point. Check it out on the main page of the website!

I hope to get to know a few of you. Thanks for helping me help you help us all!
