Hello everyone!

I've been a lurker on here for a while so finally making an account felt fitting. I've generally been interested in fabrication and design for a few years but haven't had the means of trying some stuff out. Found all kinds of videos on YouTube more recently and this seems like a great deal of fun and work! Going to be picking up some insulation foam to try some stuff out in the very near future. :thumbsup

Hi all

I've been a builder of various things all my life, back to a Jack Skellington mask and costume made out of a popped football back at university, but I've now gotten pretty heavily into making Star Wars costumes for con wear.

My first is this TIE pilot:

Which was made off a base of a baseball helmet, with eva floor mat foam and hot glue (LOTS of hot glue) plus some pipe lagging for the tubular parts, and a bit of 3d printing in there too. It's pretty rough and ready and not remotely screen-accurate but given the three weeks it took me, I'm super pleased with it.

My next one is Fenn Rau from Rebels. I've got a decent amount of progress done and I'm just starting on the awkward parts of the faceplate so I wanted to pop on and thank the community in general for the templates I'm sure I'll end up using!

Best

Hey all, I'm Matt and I'm new ;) I've started with a doing a paint job on a Rubies Han Solo Blaster so I'm only really getting started but I'm happy with the results. I've got a Good Samaritan from Hlboy & Rey's Blaster from The Force Awakens in the post, both 3D printed ready for painting. I'd like to get into doing a Nerf gun with some LEDs, if you have any suggestions on good Nerf models & LED/wiring set ups for that sort of project I'd love it. Thanks all, hope to enjoy many hours exploring these forums :)

Got on here about a year ago to research a Spider-Man suit build. Now finally getting ready to order my first suit from zentaizone just wanted to say what up to everybody and thank you guys for all your posts and info that helped me through out.

Any advice about zippers? That's my only concern right now. The current suit I have is a spine zipper w attached hood...

any advice on u shape or others?

Hi everyone.
I joined this site on May and in some ways I am still finding my way around.
I got into Cosplay in 2013 after going to ComicCon and then aimed to get to at least 1 ComicCon a year (that may increase at some point).
I have a career in housing and addiction support and I also work with young people who lets just say, don't have a good past.
I have had issues with drink and drugs and I got clean in 2008, now I believe that when you see someone struggling with the same issues you once suffered from, you have an obligation to help that person. I am also a christian by faith and have many friends who are also in recovery from drink and drug abuse.
When I am not working I am a video gamer and comic book geek and I enjoy making cosplay whether it's for conventions or just for fun.
Anyhow I heard about this site from a cosplayer on Facebook and thought I would check it out.
Looking forward to learning from you guys.

Bazz.

Hello. My main focus is Star Wars pepakura and cosplay but I like lots of movies, comics and and video games. Can't wait to share my crafting!

Hey all. I'm hoping to get into some prop builds and cosplay. I recently (and for the first time) modified some Rubies stormtrooper buckets for my wedding last June. Wasn't a perfect but I learned a lot and they looked great for the photos.

Howdy!

I'm the new guy 'round here. I found this sight via looking up info on how to create outrageous cosplay costumes. I'm one of those long time lurkers first time posters. So far I only have two cosplay costumes under my belt. The Scarecrow from the Batman Comics, and a Jawa.... I guess I could include the Riddler and Octavia Blake...but I only did some alterations on pre fabed cloths. I suppose that counts.

I have an instructable account floating around the net on how I made my Scarecrow costume, I manage the twitter feed for LBPN and a regular at DragonCon......

Hi all, I'm just here to hear about all the lastest on the Blade Runner Blasters being created out there. My current dream is to own one of the incredible Tomonesuke versions - true works of art. As many I've been obsessed with Deckard's blaster ever since I first watched Blade Runner (30yrs ago...). Thanks all! Laurie

Hello,

My name is David, and I am kinda new to the prop-making world. I have heard about this site through the Tested you tube channel. I joined because I want to learn all that I can from other makers. This year for heros and villains con in Atlanta I am putting a Black Mask costume. I am excited to start my journey into this great community.

Hello folks, a friend talked about the fórum... and here I am!

Best Regards to all!

Hi Folks,

So I'm Martin, as the username probably implies I am an actor. I also direct and produce small scale theatre shows and as a result end up having to make a few props.

Most recently I modified a plastic toy chest into a sea chest and image of which is below. I used a lot of techniques I've picked up on Tested for this one. There's a build video on my Youtube just because I wanted to have something to show my other theatre friends.

Having skimmed through a few posts it looks like there's some really interesting projects going on.

My own next project is a reproduction of an actual prop that I own so will be working with resins I think. I look forward to sharing stuff with everyone.

All the best, Martin

Greetings,

I've been lurking for awhile. I'm a fan of fabrication and over the last few years have a few family members cosplaying D*Con, MomoCon, and AnachroCon. I've moved from woodworking to prop and costuming making. I'll try to share project (hopefully #1 son will force my to document what we do. Current project is a variation of Ms. PacMan. Cheers.

Hello everyone. :)

I'm Ian from the UK, i'm a member of the 501st Legion (ID: 9352), so as you can guess i'm a big SW fan, but i like many other things as well.
Been a lurker on this forum a few times but thought it proper to actually register an account.
Looking forward to joining the community.

:cool

Evening, all! Figured I'd join as I'm constantly being linked here from various 501st sources. I'm a member of the New England Garrison, ID: 32830. Cobbled together my own Gonk earlier in the year and am currently working on a few toy releases for Yuck Toy Co, such as keshi (think of those Kinnikuman/MUSCLE toys) and my own sculpted line of old Kenner style action figures, Wormhole Warriors, which you can see WIP shots on my IG account linked over there on the left. What's up? :)
