Anders from sweden.
Interest for "the Martian" got me here.
I'v been making all kind of things all the time since ever. For live role-playing, reenactment, art and fun. All done with haste and devotion! :)

Hi, I'm new to posting here. Had an account before but it was deleted. Huge Star Wars/Sci Fi fan my whole life but new to prop replica building. I always just bought the toys and stuff. So yeah, glad to be here officially!

Hello Everyone ,
Its Good to be on the site as a posting member . I work as a Special Effects Artist here in LA and have been in the business for over 20 years now. I thought it was time to share some of my personal builds , starting with a Laser Pistol from Fallout 4 . Please stop by and check it out . Thanks , Franco

Hello I'm Lachlan. I have known about this site for years but have always been afraid to join as I have myself never had the time or money to build and buy props and costumes from movies; though thought it would be a good time to start.

My plans are to build a suit of Halo Mk-IV armour
Sandtrooper armour
Snowtrooper armour
Rebel pilot/Luke Skywalker

I hope to be able to be able to find all the guidance I need on the RPF also as I am young and not 100% sure about what I'm doing.

Hi all, I'm Paul, I live in Devon in the south of England, I am a huge movie fan, but only recently started to collect. Any and all help is great fully received, I am particularly interested in movie prop guns, police identification and ID in general as well as full body armour which I am attempting to build myself. Cheers all.

Hello all,
I have been making props for a very long time and have used some of the advice and techniques from this forum in the past. I just got some new toys for Christmas to help make some new and different props. Here are some of the props that I have made in the past. Not sure why the one pic is upside down. The robot is actually a costume. Someone can get in it and scoot it around and work the arms

Hi there!

I'm V. I'm a long-time larper, but this is my first planned Con cosplay (DragonCon 2016). I live and work in the metro Atlanta area, so it seems easy to hit that one.

I actually love a lot of geek things, but I sadly have a panic disorder, and I haven't been able to get up the courage to mingle in a large crowd of people. But TFA has made me fall in love with the idea of building something myself, and I hope that being someone else will make it easier on me to go and enjoy myself.

So, hello. Thanks for having me.

Hello all,
Im glad to be a part of this forum. All the work being done on here is amazing to say the least. I'm a huge star wars fan and my GF is big into the Disney cosplay scene. I figure I really need to step up my game with props and costumes and there is a lot to learn on here. I'm currently working on a flawless Kylo Ren costume which is what brought me here. I found some threads on the basket weave fabric for his hood and fell down the rabit hole.
Also doing a luke/red five pilot costume. I know I know...it's never been done before ;) , but it's fun. Just finishing painting that helmet. I would like to do some old republic work as well. Also watching the BB-8/droid scene and saving for a 3D printer.

Hello, everyone!
My name is Christina and I'm a software programmer, who works mainly on tools for automobiles, and General Class amateur radio operator from the US state of Pennsylvania.
I've been sewing my own Halloween costumes for years, but I've only recently gotten the funds to really try and put my all into them and get into replica prop making. Using as little money as possible is still one of my goals when I make props and costumes, but I still try my best to make it mostly accurate.

My two current projects are Marty McFly, Jr.'s jacket from Back to the Future II and his JVC Video Glasses.

Hi, I'm Zalrohg.

I'm 25 and I mostly make wooden swords and daggers, but also make foam armor pieces as well! I hope to have some professional help in getting around tight corners, I have a lot of questions involving painting metal, foam, and wood. I graduated from Art school in '12 but I haven't found my niche until now.

I'm currently building a master sword that needs a metallic finish that wont wipe away or dull. I've also made about 10 Destiny Hunter Knives, a Pyramid head 3 different times, 2 FF gunblades, and halfway done a Halo 4 ODST. This isn't a hobby so much as its paying bills for me, so the better I do the more I can keep paying my loans! I'm going to make a post now about my questions!

Hello all,
I made an account here a long time ago but never actually posted anything or stuck around for very long. I have come back intermittently to read up on somethings (mostly TARDIS keys) and find some reference pictures but that's about it. I have some new ideas and thought I might as well introduce myself and than maybe I'll feel free to be more involved. I'm into recreating simple small objects from stories I love, most of it so far has been Doctor Who and Star Wars, plus a little Studio Ghibli, some comic book stuff, etc.

Hey everyone! I've looked at this site for so many years now, but only just joined because I finally have the time to pursue this hobby. I mostly work in 3d renderings, and dabble in costuming and prop building. But I'm looking forward to sharing ideas with you all, and hopefully some of my renders as well.

Re: >> New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! <<

I love learning to knit still learning to work from a pattern! :) Do you cosplay?

Hello everyone, I've been making things for years. Whenever I need something like to make it rather than buy it.
I have made all sorts of stuff, tackle boxes knife blades straight razors Wallets sharpening whetstones fishing lures tools and more.
recently I have gotten into props like for holloween which lead to movies. I will admit that Adam Savage has really inspired me greatly with his level of detail commitment And am in awe Of how many people are so talented on this forum and would love to be a part of it.

So here I am today and by the way my name is Mack.

Hello! Found my way here from a Star Wars Facebook page and am looking around the site. Cheers! :)

Hello!

I discovered the RPF a few years back via Tested.com and Adam Savage. Finally decided to make an account and look more into making and props. I love film props and replicas but sadly lack any knowledge of making itself. Hoping to build some connections on here and eventually own some of my favorite objects from some of my favorite films. First up, Luke's ESB lightsaber hilt.
