Longime lurking mermaid with a dry land cosplay habit. Finally joined the site today.

Total newbie here. I have a couple of teens who are diving into cosplay, and I didn't want to miss all the fun. I *slightly* contributed to their recent props: Thor's hammer and Jack Frost's staff, while pulling together plant stuffs for my version of Poison Ivy. Living in the middle of South America, we're a long way from the material I'd normally use in crafting, so I'm thankful to have found this group of geniuses who are willing to share their ideas and talents. Thanks!

Hey Guys, Long time lurker first time poster, really love your show... wait a second.. Perth WA based cosplayer / newbie foam smith, have put together a couple of Quickish builds thanks to the work of Pilerud and JFcustom as well as developed some level of comfort making my own stuff thanks to the awesome info to be found here:
My builds so far have been in order of creation:
1) a Bad master chief that shall not be shown :)
2) War machine (6 week foam build first foam armour)
3) Space Marine (space wolf) 6 months total time I think
4) Judge Dredd 2 weeks
6) Mordekaiser from League of Legends (still in progress)

Hopefully I can in time give back to the community in some way shape or form. Look forward to see what everyone gets up to.

Hey guys,

I'm AFmichal, I'm new to this site but I love seeing all the awesome creations. I'm really into making display props from my favourite shows and movies. I'm currently working on the Hand of the Kind Pin from Game of Thrones. I've always wanted my own and I thought I'd dive into it.

I'm really excited to be part of the forum and I look forward to sharing many props with you guys.

Hi all

Name is Mike C been posting some in the Hasbro Millennium Falcon Thread as I am just a big nerd when it comes to all things SW. My Star Wars (actually all Sci-Fi stuff) mania started back in 1977 when they showed a clip of the escape from the Death Star scene on TV, I was like MAN!!! how cool does that look with (did not know what they were called then) Tie Fighters swooping around the Falcon and Luke and Han handling the Quad Guns...major life changer.
The Film (ANH) Had already premiered in May in the States and it came to Sweden (yep I am a Swede) in December that year...Did I go to the Premiere HELL YEA!....well the rest is history.

Anyho, That Film sort a affected my whole life as I got all Toys and stuff but most importantly the Making of books with the cool Gauche Illustrations and Sketches and so I decided to become a Industrial Designer/Illustrator cause I wanted to sketch stuff like Ralph McQuarrie or Joe Johnston. Got in to the Best Design School in Europe (at the Time) Art Center Europe...ELITE!!! :)

Now comes the sort a sad part...I did a Car for a movie as my Graduation Project with story boards and costume design and the whole 9 yards...and Chris Bangle (ex BMW Design Boss) was at the graduation and told me "You should not work in the Car industry, I got a friend working as Conceptual Director at ILM and I will write you a letter of recommendation for a interview there" and I was like WHAT!!! MAN! how sweet is this....but...My Girlfriend 5 month pregnant at the time refused to go to the States...so I took an offer from a Japanese Car Maker and got stuck in the Car Design business, also not bad :) BUT NOT ILM :(

And there you have it...A big Star Wars nerd stuck in the Automotive Design Business for over 23 years now...that could have been something else ;)

Here are some Pics from my Graduation work Portfolio ( autumn of 1992)...maybe you can see what Chris Bangle saw back in then when he wanted to send me of to ILM for an Interview :).

First time posting and just getting into this incredible world! So stoked looking around at stuff everyone has made, and can't wait to make some of my own! Two things I really want to make are a deadpool and Jace Beleren costume. Live in Kansas for time being While I finish chiropractic school. If I could make even something half as cool as a lot of the stuff I've seen on here I'll be stoked!

Hello all, just want to take a minute to introduce myself. I'm Matt from Denver. I have been working with leather for about ten years now and have decided that I am going to start working with metal (casting, machining) I have yet to make any movie themed projects but I will work on getting some pics up soon. Let me know if I can help you with any leather projects, I just might say yes !!

Thanks for having me.

Cheers

Howdy all,

I've bounced around a bunch of prop makers' websites and channels and loved most of what I've seen but I feel like that's only half the fun.
I've started taking items that I had and started my first steps into this new world of props and replicas. I hope that I can learn a lot here and meet some people of similar likes.

Hello~

My name's Cris and I'm from Georgia, USA! I've bee lurking these forums since last year. I don't remember what led me to this site, but I've been hooked ever since. I finally decided to join since I'm graduating from college next month (Electrical Engineer woo~) and will finally have time to start posting my progress on my cosplays online. I'm really excited to get involved here!

Hi all, I'm a newbie at foam crafting but watch a lot of YouTube vids, my 24yr son has asked me to make him a Rathalos Blademaster Monster Hunter armour and great weapon, I have the confidence in making it and how to attach the pieces together but are there any more vids I could watch for help?

Hello. I've been into props and model building since the 80's yet have just gotten around to joining the forum. My focus is on sci-fi. Primary interests are Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel, DC and MIB, with some niche interests such as Rocketeer and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Apart from props and modeling, I am a major gearhead and shooting enthusiast.

There is some amazing talent on The RPF and incredible props, I'm happy to be a part of it!
