hey guys, just came here to share my experience with a certain leech on the blood of our passions: star wars and lightsabers

I'm retired adguy,

A little background ,.. 30 plus years of selling you all stuff that you do or don't need, depends on POV.

If you have watched ANY TV between 1990 and 2001 you HAVE seen my work weather (?sp) you wanted to or not.
Mostly automotive ads for one of the "big three" US auto companies.

I have been an Illustrator, Graphic designer, Art Director at what was once one of the largest ad agency's in the world.

SOO much fun. Can we say meetings and designing by comity?

Why I finally joined this board,.. CAN WE SAY a NEW large Millennium Falcon "model"? YES WE CAN.

I have buit around 45/50 MilFalc since the first issue in 1978 by MPC/AMT, 4 FM 1/72 MilFalc's,.. 2 modified Hasbro Legacy MilFalc's,..

And one what I call the Rebel Hasbro MilFalc also know as the BMF MilFalc.

From stock as issued to heavily modified. At this point I no longer do any interiors or electronics as I have vision issues an manuel dexterity problems. Break out the violins.

Currently I'm finishing up a Rebel Hasbro MilFalc also know as the BMF MilFalc.

note; Some of the MilFalc builds on this site are AMAZING.

I do not do as much customizing as in the past due to stated issues.

I will post my Rebel Hasbro MilFalc build shortly, once I figure out how to post photos.

Here is a tease,

I have re done some of the missing decals from the 5 ft falcon and am contemplating making them available.
Currently they are not to scale as it is less problematic to make them large and scale them as needed.

Any one know were the instructions are on how to post photos,.. never mind I see it DHo'

Here is a sell sheet for an MPC model I sold on e bay in 012

Hey All;

Just stumbled across this forum doing an on-line search for some prop images to help with some items I'm working on a look little more realistic to their movie versions. I've been doing prop and costuming as a hobby for about 6 years now, in what little spare time I have. I've completed a few really nice Star Trek uniforms and of course made a nice Klingon Costume complete with headpiece.

By day I'm a simple 40-something Chemical Engineering zombie, slogging it out at the corporate grind stone working on projects that are your typical corporate things...lots of drama, little special effects.

But when it's quitting time, I venture into the world of the living and alive...and work on costumes, props, writing, on-line gaming from time to time, and training my dogs for competitive dog sports (obedience, agility, herding, that sort of thing, but they know enough tricks to do movie or commercial work typically as well).

I have not been into cosplay or conventions at all mostly due to time but also I don't really have a lot of friends who would even consider going to a such an event. Sadly, most of my friends and the stiffs I hang out with at work wouldn't be caught dead at those types of events. Sounds like this year I need to find some new friends! It's sad when people forget that part of life is to be able to not take yourself so seriously. Sometimes we all just have to take a moment to remember to laugh at yourself and be silly from time to time. Where else do adults get to act like kinds other than Halloween? Taking time out to play (even if you are 40-something) is really the only thing that keeps you young.

I'm considering going to a few cosplay events as soon as I finish my Cheshire Cat costume and maybe a Maleficent costume. In the mean while, please have fun visiting my webpage at www.burgundyjenssen2009.com and if you see something you like on it, drop me a line and let me know. I might be able to make you a duplicate of something I already have, as I typically keep a mold library of things I have made.

Cheers,

BJ

Hi all,
The RPF kept popping up on my Facebook so I wanted to know and see more of it. Being a member of other more specific pep and builder groups I love crafting and building of all kinds that's why I'm here now. Looking forward to learn more from you and to see more of your awesome builds.
And a happy new year to all of you :)

Hi guys!
I am Miguel and live at Mexico City. I found this page by listening to the Adam savage podcast.
What can I say about me? I have no formal College education but in the past I started a lot of different professions without finding what I liked, my real passion; of course, until some years ago when I found out I really loved Making (no pun intended).

I started by making a recycled carton-paper-plastic bottles and paper mache lancer gun from Gears of War, then some wood furniture for myself, friends and family, and then I started making models again. I am planning to start 2015 with a real size Thor's Mjolnir, and a Joker - Heist mask. Maybe the joker mask I'll make it out of paper mache, because in Mexico is not that easy to find resins and things like that. Or at least not commercially or I havent found the place.

I am also trying to do a fully functional "Her (the movie)-like" earpiece.

I love it hear! Feels like home already.

Hi!

I am Boudicca and live in Boston Massachusetts. I am a librarian that loves science fiction and fantasy characters. I love Star Wars, Star Trek and Discworld. I do not have any thing built yet as I am just starting. I have been working off and on again on a female tusken raider costume over the past two years. I look forward to learning new crafting methods and hopefully build something to completion in 2015.

Hi all! I've been a long time lurker and fan of a lot of skilled people on here. I've always wanted to be a prop maker but ended up becoming an Ophthalmologist instead. I started out customizing and "Cosplaying" in 1/6th scale, mainly focusing on LOTR armor. Then i got into WW2 airsoft and started building 1:1 scale WW2 era functional airsoft guns like a PPSH, FG42, Gew43, MG34, MG42, Garands, Kar98s, Mosin Nagants and Enfield MK1s. Recently, i finally got up the courage to work on my ultimate inspiration for prop and scratchbuilding: Star Wars! My first SW props are the 2003 Microseries Fordo helmets, sculpted from XPS foam and cast in fiberglass. Recently got approved into the 501st, so it's great that my helmets are now part of something bigger. :)

Greetings from Denmark

Nice to finally be apart of this forum, I am a costume enthusiast, and love to read about all the fantastic costumes here, looking forward to sharing my builds.

Hello there :)
I'm Agata and I'm from poland. I'm huuuge fan of Robert Downey Jr. , and, because of this, I become a fan of Iron Man. I really want to build my own Iron Man suit (Mark IV, foam), and that's what had led me here ;) I already started making helmet (training one from paper) and it's ready to paint now. Sooo, that's all!
Cheers!

Greetings.. looking forward to learning from all the talented folk here.

Hello.... Fan girl here living out her midlife crisis by finally getting down to her childhood ambition of building costumes.

I've built a Winter Soldier costume for myself and a Jedi Knight for my daughter. I am also working on a Tolkien inspired Elf and my very very first costume and sewing experience was making Harry Potter Robes.

Looking forward to some great tips on how to handle different materials.

Cheers.

Hello! I am Thomas. I've been costuming (other than Halloween) since 2007. I have several costumes considered to be high quality. I enjoy costuming with friends at charity events and at conventions. I try to attend Dragon Con every year. You can see some of my costumes at mybrandofinsanity.com on the "Photographs" page.
Some of my costumes: Stormtrooper, Lumiya's Royal Guard Stormtrooper (red armor), Billith, Gladiator (Maxiums Decimus Meridius), G.I. Joe, Maverick, and TDK Joker.

I have a few new costume projects in mind. Hopefully, I'll have at least one new one done this year (2015). On the list of potential projects: Methos (Horseman - Death) from Highlander, Aladdin, and Strider (LOTR).

Cheers!
