Hi there!

I'm Julie, and I love making things. I done everything from beading to sewing andother random crafts and finally settled in happily with making props & costumes last year at my husband's encouraging. It's a great thing ot have someone who believes in you! Anyways, I've been lurking here for a while now and finally decided to sign up to show off my creations and encourage others on theirs :)

Hey there everyone, I joined this site to look at all of the amazing replicas you guys are building. I mainly like doctor who stuff and some of the things on this site is just so amazing.

Hello everyone. I'm Kenny from Alabama. I like to tinker with all sorts of things. Lately I've been into building robot replicas. It started with a Space Core puppet and branched to a full sized K-9. I'm rebuilding my Space Core puppet. I rushed some aspects to get him ready for a convention so I'm going back to add proper detailing.

Hello all. I'm Jason from Florida. I have been lurking around the forms for very long and decided it was time to finally create an account. My latest creation a suit of ANH stormtrooper armor made using cardboard, craft foam, and a little ingenuity (and a lot of pepakura)!

Hello everyone. My name is Aaron and I've been lurking around here for about a year.

I'm a Control Systems Engineer for a major industrial gas company and I enjoy fabricating in my free time.
I've posted quite a bit of work on the First Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment (FISD). Most recently, I machined steel parts and built what I believe is the most accurate Star Wars E-11 Blaster replica to date. It's quite humbling, but I'm very proud of the fact that FISD administrators requested permission to post pictures of my replica in the gallery for other members to use as a reference.

I found out about the RPF when it was mentioned by Adam Savage in one of his Tested videos. Since my interests go beyond Star Wars, I decided to take a look around. I must say I was, and continue to be, BLOWN AWAY by the talent on this site. I'm hoping to post some of my own work and contribute to this awesome community.

Hi everyone, my name is Steven and I am pretty new to building my own cosplay. Attended my first couple of cons this year and having a blast doing it. Thanks for the site, it's fantastic!

hello to all members of this wonderful forum. There are very talented people who can teach me so much

So ok I'm new here, I started an Ironman project for Halloween and love all this, so need help/ advice, I have a helmet I finished in card stock, coated it in epoxy resin on outside, my next plan was Bondo on the outside, but I am not sure from there. I may have to do another helmet anyway as I am struggling with the helmet scaling, It seems a little large, scale wise but I need to be able to get it over my head. So a lot here any help would be great?

Hello everyone! I'm just checking that "New Member post" box. I've just got into the Cosplay scene, like last week, and I'm now in the process of putting together a kit for the upcoming Dragon Con in ATL. Yes, I have two weeks, yes I'm a noob, yes I will fail or succeed but I am sure it will be only one or the other ;)

Hello all! I am a vintage gentleman's clothing shop owner and avid costume and prop maker in Toronto, Canada. I hope to learn lots and, hopefully, contribute!

Hi Eveyone! i have been looking through this website for a few months now i finally have gotten around to making an account! i have only one complete costume which is Spiderman Vigilante from the TASM2 video game. My next big thing is to put together a Deadpool costume for the next convention i plan on going to.

Hi. You guys have a lot of knowledge and talent on this site, I look forward to learning and sharing my projects. I am not a cosplayer but I take my halloween costumes very seriously and usually do as accurate a movie character as possible. Last year I was the Driver from Drive, I used the replica jacket and sourced the rest of the clothes then made the gloves custom, I even bought a correct year and model chevy malibu. I know a lot of you on here are doing this already but where I live I hope to have the best, most accurate, star lord costume possible.

Hello all,

I'm Staar Lord Maan. (No, really, check my name). I found a link to this site while I was researching the Peter Quinn wardrobe from Guardians of the Galaxy and I wanted to join up so I can ask questions, submit my progress on the whole project. When I'm finished, I intend on doing what Chris Pratt mentioned in one of his pres junket interviews. Visit a children's hospital as Star-Lord...dancing my way into the ward with the TPS-L2* pumping Redbone's Come And Get Your Love....mask and all. In the spirit of this thread, here's a little about me:

I am a kidney transplant recipient of one A.C.M.E. Kidney...donated to me by my (then) girlfriend and (now) wife. That happened on May 9th, 2002 and because of that, I take drugs. I am also a musician with an LP out. So that makes me a Rock Star on drugs. There's nothing better than the rush of the crowd screaming for your music but I am dropping all of that in favor of doing this Star-Lord project. Taking on the mantle of a Marvel Hero is serious business and so I want to do it justice by ensuring that every part of this build is as screen accurate as possible; it's kind of why I'm here.

I look forward to getting to know those who opt to help me out. With that said, I think I need to post somewhere about the Nerf Quad Blaster conversion and the need for some kind of plastic patching putty...

*No, I do not own that Walkman...yet. I walked 3.33 miles getting into and out of my car on Saturday while visiting multiple garage sales as well as antique and thrift shops in four cities near where I live.

Hi everybody-
I was referred to this site while some friends and I were building the puppets for a production of "Little Shop of Horrors" (it was amazing). I love this kind of stuff.

I build/make all sorts of things, from shoes to stage sets. If I need it, and can't find it, I'll make it. And sometimes I'll just make it anyway! :)

Hello All,
I just joined this site, and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Chris, and I have been interested in models since I was a kid. and would try to build as many in my field of interest as I could. these being ships, planes, starships, trains, and figures. in my high school years friends and I would attempt to do our fan based movies. and I usually built the models for them. but with all things once I was out of school and started working my hobbies fell to the wayside. and my modeling skills grew rusty. recently that modeling bug has bitten me once again and I am trying to get back into the hobby. which means honing my skills and learning pretty much all over again. I'm looking foreword to chatting with other modelers on this site, and hope you all won't mind me asking pointers and how too's from time to time. as after the long break from modeling. I am finding I am pretty lost to a lot of the things that I knew as a kid. and am not sure on a lot of the ways to do some of the things I would like to do. Again I am looking foreword to being a member of the site, and I Thank you for your time.

Hi,

My name is Brian, I am brand new to cosplay. Been looking for parts for a DL-44 blaster, and my searches brought me here. I'm a poor under-paid, over-worked high school teacher who loves all things Sci-Fi, especially the Star Wars trilogy.

I just joined the site, I'm looking into a Han Solo ANH scope mount and scope for a Halloween project that I am working on. Any help would be awesome.

Hi all,

Been lurking as an observer for a long time and finally made the plunge.

My most recent work has been largely software and electronics based and using 3D printing to make enclosures/cases. I have started getting more into making prop/replica projects, especially projects where I might use software & electronics to augment them (not planning on making an "advacnded action suit").

Starting off with a Quill/Starlord build just in time for Halloween and Reno Wizard World/Comic Con.

Pip Boy 3000
Most recent project of note: Pip Boy 3000 built using iOS app talking to BLE sensors for humidity, temp, GPS, mapping and a handmade geiger counter for a hackathon where the problem posed was to make a "wearable device for space". The Pip Boy from Fallout immediately came to mind. Turned out to be largely impractical and weighted strangely on your arm but was a fun project.

It was a team effort built in a weekend at the event and the 3D model for the iconic device was provided by Thingiverse user dragonator. We went the quick & dirty route and used a phone instead of doing a full build with a screen/microcontroller due to our time constraints and my existing experience with iOS development.

Looking forward to sharing my next project(s) in detail including finishing the Pip Boy (those wires won't fix themselves).

Cheers!

Hiya,

My names Michael and I'm from Middlesbrough in the UK.

I'd heard about the Replica Prop Forum from a couple of my friends in the Cosplay circle I costume in.

My cosplays aren't screen accurate but are more loosely based on the characters myself as I like to mash-up my creations and add a little uniqueness to them.

I have 2 costumes, 3 if you consider one which is purely for Halloween and I'm planning a 4th. The first is an Umbrella Corp Soldier from Resident Evil, which is basically a mix of the Hunk and a Centurion. As I've said, because it's a mash-up, it won't be cleared with any costume groups as being 'screen accurate' as it doesn't bear any resemblence to any existing costume but I'm fond of the fact it's my own creation and in my own opinion and that of others, it's impressive.

The 2nd is a Sith Lord, which I embarked upon when I bought a Wicked Lasers S3 Arctic and bought the laser sabre attachment to go with it. The costume is pants to be honest and needs some attention but it's a start. I've had people hassle me to by FX Light Sabres to go with the costu

The 3rd is years old and is well aged. I happened upon a skull mask from Asda many years ago, around Halloween time, that was £5.99 at the time and since then, have saw reproductions of it but for a more expensive price tag. I took an old Scream costume, cast the mask aside and used the skull mask in it's place. After a trip to B&Q buying waste water pipe and an old damaged side bath panel, I made myself a scythe. Sprayed the stem of the scythe brown and wiped it down in places to try and give it a wooden effect and them chrome sprayed the blade I made. I've had doormen actually check the blade wasn't actual metal so that for me was a complement itself.

The 4th is a work in progress. I still have a few bits to buy to try and create a near-as-dammit screen accurate Barry Burton from Resident Evil. As a both a cosplayer and airsofter, I find a lot of airsoft weaponry at times is themed. You can buy the likes of the Aliens Snow Wolf M1A1 Pulse Rifle that I've saw people cosplay USMC soldiers with. But having not had a side arm for airsofting and being a Resident Evil film fan, I saw the Jill Valentine Berretta M92 and it's then I saw the Barry Burton version. Having bought the pistol, within the group of cosplaying friends I have, they said they didn't have a Barry Burton cosplayer, so that's my next project.
