Hi
Im from the Uk and I'm a little new to the cosplaying scene, however i am an expert when it comes to arts and crafts which really helps when it comes to my cosplaying. Im particularly interested in spiderman cosplay and making a few cosplay bits and pieces and i am currently trying to put together a comic style spidey suit. Im not so in to anime and manga and other things like that, but i would like to get into it . for now though, ill just stick with the comic book and sci fi scene. I am always ready for a challenge and can make pretty much anything if i put my mind to it and with the help of this thread , i am excelling with my cosplaying hobbies and hopefully i can go to my first con next year

Hello all :),
I'm from Singapore, turning 15 this year, and currently have no prior knowledge of making anything other than a mess. I decided to join after getting extremely passionate about Portal 2, and obviously, the Portal Gun. At first, I had wanted to buy one off of Amazon for cosplay purposes, but after talking to my friends for a bit, I decided to try and make one myself...which led me to this forum. As mentioned earlier, I pretty much have no experience on anything related to making costumes and props, the only thing I've ever made/carved is a bone necklace. Regardless, I've always admired the items people make, from gauntlets to masks, and I hope that somewhere in the near future, thanks to the help of people in this community, I can turn what I'm starting to do now into a hobby.

Hello everyone,
I found this site when I was trying to find out ways to make John Winchester's journal from Supernatural. I have been cosplaying for a long time now but all I can make are the outfits (sewing). I would like to start doing a lot more mainly props lol.

Life to the Empire!
I am an ameratur costumer, and geek - I am known for being a TOS Romulan Commander at DragonCon along with my crossover Im working on call Romulan Sith.
I stink at sewing and have built a few items -I did a cheese attempt at 1974 MechaGodzilla a few years back and make a 2nd head for G-Fest.
The other year, I used this site to get info on making an Alt universe Fringe costume - that was great fun!
Currently working to get the makeup more authentic for the TOS Romulan Commander and planning my next build.

Hello everyone!

I'm brand new today. This may sound silly but I found out about this because of Adam Savage (Mythbusters/tested.com etc). I enjoy a lot of Sci-Fi, Comic and Educational programming. I decided to join today because I'm hoping to learn from people who are more experienced and can help guide me to my goals. I'm not the leader of the pack by any means and my interests are reflective of that. I'm hoping to learn over the next year or so how to create a customer(s) similar to the ones in "Batman & Robin" (1997) and "TRON: Legacy" (2010). I'd like to be able to replicate Robin's costume from "Batman & Robin" (1997) with the ability to remove the cape and TRON from "TRON: Legacy" (2010) with the ability to switch between LED colours!

I hope I get the chance to learn from you. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Hello RPF!

My name's Jared and have been lurking for quite some time now. I am just getting into costume making. I am having a go at building a Tron: Legacy - User/Sam Flynn costume in time for Dragon*Con this year, hopefully. I saw Annisse last year portraying Gem, and I was floored. Since then, I happened to stumble across the Tron Legacy Costume thread. The thread has been a huge lifeline for me on this build thanks to such a wonderful community.

I love seeing others' progression in making costumes, props, and sculpts. It truly is amazing to be able to see things come together right before my eyes on the internet!

Thanks for having me,
Jared

Hello everybody, my name is Pat. 31 years old, Massachusetts Firefighter/Paramedic, husband, father of a badass 5 year old little boy. Fanatic of Back to the Future, Star Wars and Ghostbusters. I showed up here while googling how to make cheap homemade replicas of Marty McFly's 2015 Jacket for a Halloween party this year, and after a few weeks of lurking and being blown away by the amazing work from the talent here, finally registered to take part in the discussions (and drop 750+shipping on a McFly Jacket that as far as I'm concerned is worth every penny).

I'm no artist by any stretch of the imagination. The only sculpting I've ever done is with play doh and the only painting I've ever done is with my fingers, but as I said I've been blown away by the works I've seen and would love to be involved in some of the future discussions, if not for my actual physical talent then for my passion for the movies and tv the works have been inspired by.

Keep up the great work guys

Pat

Hello!

Another new guy, and I'm here as mentioned earlier courtesy of Adam Savage on Tested.com. I'm not very skilled at builds, but I have tons of enthusiasm and looking forward to learning some tricks and giving some things a go! I'm into comics mainly but Sci-Fi is also high on my list.

Thanks!
Rich

Hello

I also found my way here from the Tested.com DL-44 build, and I've been thinking about trying to build my own for a while now. I figured I should just go for it or I'll never do it. Ive never tried building a prop replica before, so we'll see what happens. I've been building a small set of machinist skills through work and school, and if nothing else this will be a fun way to expand those skills.

Thanks
Ryan

Greetings everyone!

I am brand new here. Looked around the site the last few days and you people have compiled some interesting threads. I am a corrugated packaging designer in the Phoenix Metro area. Am always looking for cool stuff I can make with corrugated to put up at work and home.

I am a lover of sci-fi movies as well as tv shows of the same genre. And of course I am an avid video gamer. I was recently told of Pepakura and am looking forward to trying things out with that program and even getting the designs into the CAD software we use and cutting the designs out on the sample table.

Hi everybody! :)
I'm Alex, 21 and from germany. I just started with all the costume work, and I admit already love it!
My first costume will be Mad Max from The Road Warrior (which is almost finished) and I already have some plans for my second project, which is in fact the reason I registered myself on the RPF.

I hope to learn many new things and extend my skills.

And that's actually all I have to say right now. :D

Greetings! My name is Riccardo, Originally from Lecce, Puglia, Italy. I become involved in the gaming/prop making universe around 2008-2009. I can get very upset at small details which makes building anything for me a huge task.

Hello, I'm Tony from Sweden. I'm looking to become more creative and whatnot and propmaking has always stuck out as something really interesting to me. Though I do not have a skillset at this point, I'm hoping to garner one with time. I get very inspired when I see the awesome creations that creative people can make, and hope to contribute my own creativity to this community too!

Greetings,
I am new to this hobby. I used to be involved with the SCA but now my interests have turned to prop and costume making.

I am going to be making some Star Trek:TNG props, specifically medical props, and was wondering if anybody had dimensions for a hypospray, dermal re-generator, medical kit, and PADD.

Thanks!

Hello Everyone!

Well hi, my name is John and I live in Ste. Rose du Lac which is in Manitoba...which is in Canada hehheh. I've already staggered through work two days running because I spent two long night on this site. My brother made a halo suit for himself and his 8 year old son. Not to be outdone I am making space marine armor for me and my three sons. Starting now so I have a prayer of finishing before Halloween. It's gonna be a trip but should firmly set me as the coolest dad around until I have to start refusing to let them borrow my truck. I look forward to picking everyones brains and continuing to enjoy the awesum world of RPF.

Hello all, my name is Tommy and I'm from Virginia. I have mostly done historical re-enacting clothing in the past (focusing on colonial, F & I war and rendezvous eras). Thanks to my wife who is a comic book and convention enthusiast I have visited several cons recently - MegaCon and HeroesCon amongst several smaller ones. I can say I have been bit by the costuming and prop building bug and have been amazed by the sheer talent that a lot of the members here display in their art.

Hey all!
Katherine here from NYC. I came across the site looking for a Bender (Futurama) build and obviously birddog's build on here is insane and showed up on a bunch of other peoples blogs/builds. I'm starting my own Bender build this week for my husband for NYCC and a Leela costume for myself. Been reading through a ton of other peoples though as I've only ever built with craft foam and there are so many talented people on here and I've been learning a ton about Worbla and other plastics, building techniques, links to other really helpful sites, etc. So glad to be joining in on this community resource!

Hello, Nice to meet everyone. I collect Star Wars, Batman and Captain America items. I also do customs. I previously posted pics of my modified PF Batman with 'fixed' armpits. I also have been working on a custom line I call "Batman's Beauties" I hope you like them and I look forward to receiving comments
