Greetings and salutations from the UK.

My name is Mikado, I'm 26 and very very much an amateur prop builder. I've made an attempt at a pep build once before and it wasn't a complete failure but, it was close.

I'm here for ideas I guess. My husband wants to be Iron Man and I want to be Rescue for Halloween this year. This will be our first time creating a costume.

We loved all the costumes at the Phoenix Comic-Con this year and wanted to do some ourselves. I eventually want to make a darkest night Mera cosplay, Violet from rat queens, and the new 52 Harley quinn. So uh, hi everyone.

Hi Everybody,

I'm brand new to prop building and hoping to just jump right in and immerse myself right in there. I've been visiting this site quite a bit recently and everyone seems to be very supportive and friendly towards each other. (which is a big plus)

I've signed up to get to know as many people as I can and share thoughts, advice and support for creativity.

At the moment I'm quite the "COG-HEAD" and seeing all these Gears of War Props and costumes have given more than enough inspiration to try something myself.
Can't wait to talk to you all soon.

=o)

Cheers, The RPF!

If I'm being totally honest I'll probably mostly be rubbernecking - love the creativity of this kind of stuff, makers, movies, and building things.

I will, however, just share this little project I'm doing: I have a teen daughter who happens to be a giant Doctor Who geek (not entirely unlike her dad) and whose birthday is coming up so there's a gift thing which is going to be TARDIS-themed...

That's for another thread though, so, well, hi there, here's a teaser image.

Hi all! I'm looking forward to learning from all the awesome builds on this forum and apply them to my projects. Here's an ongoing wip of a 2003 Microseries Clonewars Arc Trooper Helmet:

Hey all,

I'm back! Had a profile by this exact username for a while, but took a little break, and it looks like my profile got nuked. Whoops!

I have a bizarre passion for helmets and props. That's my mission. Artistically, my prowess is questionable at best, so I'm excited to be back in a community of such talented replicators.

Hi... New to this stuff... But have been a fan for years. I'm in hopes of learning a thing or two about eva and other items. Current goal, to learn how to make a Gambit costume/ armor... If anyone has any advice, I'm more than willing to take the bad and the good!! Thanks

Greetings FANS, NERDS, and TRUE BELIEVERS!

It is so nice to be a part of a community of fellow interests and enthusiasts. I grew up in the 80s and early 90s with some of my favorite movies and series being Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Back To The Future, The Goonies, Ghostbusters and Star Trek (pretty sure that covers the big ones). All of those left a big impression on me and helped to shape my interests and love for film and the cinema. My parents are both stage actors and directors, so I grew up around performance art, which fed my desire and obsession with costuming, prop-making, and all things nerdy. I've been working on Captain America Shields, the map from The Goonies (as well as the doubloon and skeleton key). I also have some lightsaber designs in my queue and a hand-carved replica of The First Blade used by Cain on Supernatural.

In the near future, I'd like to make my own samurai/cowboy inspired design for some Mandalorian Armor, a proton pack from Ghostbusters, and an 11th Doctor wool Frock Coat. I look forward to offering my advice, expertise and opinions to this community, and receiving the same in return! Currently, I reside in Hollywood and am working toward a career in screen-writing and production, as that is my greatest love.. but I've always been an artist.. since the day I was born.

Hello!

I've been browsing the rpf for a while now and finally decided to join in on the fun. I'm an architecture student, so I spend a lot of time making things. With 3D printers, laser cutters, and a sewing machine at my disposal, I'm hoping to be able to make some props for a spiderman costume for my boyfriend that I'm hoping to have finished by this Halloween, and then maybe continue on to some more complex costumes.

I love seeing all the talent in this community, hopefully I can contribute a little bit!

hi i'm Fernando from Italy , and i'm tring to realize my first cosplay with pepakura

Hi all, I am Poomfrom Thailand, I have been reading the rpc for a while now. I am very interested in many prop making in this site

Hi All!

I'm relatively new to prop making/costuming, but I love reading and watching builds and I've learned a ton in the few weeks I've been lurking around. Hopefully I'll be able to add to this amazing community with my own work someday :)

Current project is a San (Princess Mononoke) cosplay for Dragon*Con.

Hello Everyone!

I have known about this site for quite sometime and now I'm finally deciding to join in all the fun. I am apart of a Ghostbusters group here in Southern California and also cosplay as Princess Leia's, A New Hope. I am still very new to the cosplay/ costume build but I have a few ideas lurking in the back of my mind that I would love to see become reality. I can't wait to learn some new things!

Hi. I'm new to the forum and prop collecting in general. I would say that I'm an obsessive collector once I'm hooked so I'm taking plenty of time to soak up the wealth of knowledge on show here to make sure I'm making sensible decisions! The projects on here are mind blowing and I'm looking forward to getting to know my way around. My core interests are classic action and sci-fi, as well as video games and my ultimate prize would be a screen used 'Smiert Spionam' tag from The Living Daylights. If only!

hi i have seen links to this site and always wanted to be apart and now i am i have a current project of the winter soldier female and Harley Quinn and Lady Loki and Poison Ivy

Hello all and sundry,

I have been a modeler since I was a kid; how's that for unique. I was fortunate enough to make a living at it for ten years. My last job was ended when NASA's funding changed. Ecch. I was tired of the periodic lay-offs that can happen if you don't own your own shop or aren't lucky enough to be working somewhere with a lot of steady employment Alas.

But modeling runs deep in the blood.

This site hooked me when I ran across the 8' build of the Star Destroyer going on. I knew I had found a community of a mind with my own so here I am...

My mistake, I already posted once without realizing there was an introduction thread.

Anyway, I am not even an amateur, I'm a never been or something to that effect. It's always been an interest of mine to make masks, but for one reason or another I've never even made an attempt to get into it. I think I am ready now, I've just been really, really enthusiastic lately about creating something with my hands especially after seeing some of the amazing stuff the regulars of these forums produce. Masks in particular have always been an interest of mine, always loved a mask vigilante or even monster (Jason Voorhees, WWE's Kane, etc.).

However I am open to moving on to more than just masks, I'd really be interested in creating just about anything. I'm just looking for some tips on how to get started, what I need exactly, and hopefully at an affordable price, money is pretty tight.
