Hello everyone!
I've been very interested in prop making and costuming since I was very young making costumes out of anything in my room and out of cardboard since i was little i have loved Spider-Man I was 2 or 3 and he is my hero! i also have always liked Sci-Fi films like starwars and shows and many others like the walking dead etc. and now I am sort of able to have the funds To make things! I have been looking around at the site for awhile so Now i am going to try to make my first ever amazing spider man 2 suit soon as possible and I'll show all you lovely people the process..possibly if it isn't a train wreck! Haha thanks guys!! You are awesome! God Bless!!

Hello,
I am a sculptor and a caricaturist.
I did an Elvis sculpture that really looks like him.
Please visit my homepage to check it out:
Elvis Sculpture
Currently, I am thinking of using alginate to make a head cast and make a realistic replica of a head.
I would appreciate if anyone would give me some advice.
Thanks,
Stephen Pong

Hello all. My name is Matt and I'm a complete noob at costuming and crafting. However where I lack skill I don't lack determination. I've come to this group for much needed pointers and a tad bit of inspiration. I hope to utilize all of you to your full potential. :D

G'day! Newbie as well. Finished my first pepakura helmet the other day. Hoping to make some more stuff!
Currently living in Japan, so some of the materials are a bit difficult to get, although some searching will hopefully turn some useable stuff up.
Cheers!

Hello all, just joined yesterday. Found out about it through adam savage's man cave on youtube. hoping to get into this hobby soon, looks fun.

Hi!

I'm relatively new maker (only 16) and am going be building a K-9 with a friend after exams finish as we're both big Who fans. I found the forum has a couple of threads by other people who have made everyone's favourite metal dog which will be really useful and being part of such an experienced community will be a great help when we come up against something we don't know how to do.

Thanks in advance for the help by the way.

Livi :)

Hey there everyone. I finally joined the RPF after lurking for a while. I am a member of GBFANS.com and am fairly new to the prop building community. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hey there, I've actually had an account on here for almost a year now but due to circumstances I have not been able to focus on crafting or communing with anyone on here but thats about to change. I'm looking to get started on my current project ASAP which of course is the new Scarlet Spider suit. I've actually already gathered some of the materials necessary for the build but I'm looking for a nudge in the right direction. This is to be the first of many builds from me. I'm glad to be on here finally and will hopefully soon start posting pics form the projects. If anyone has any tips for me or just wants to say "hey whats up?" feel free to contact me.
Sincerely, TehAmasinSpoder

Hi, my name is Juliette, I'm French so sorry for my spealing mistakes.
I'm a total newbie at costuming and crafting, exception a Sith costum 10 years ago, but I have a hudge motivation. I'm going to start by something quite difficult for my poor skill : a Mass Effect N7 Hemlet with pepakura et fiber glass...
Wish me luck ;)

Yo.

Been a member for a while, don't even remember if I've posted in this thread. I'm an Aussie, building a costume for the only big nerd convention in Sydney, Supanova. Are there more? Tell me!

This is the basic idea, but a male Autarch in a different paint scheme. Not doing the wings, just sayin'.

Here's the first look at the thing. It's further along than this now and I'll start a thread soon, but I'm pretty sure that there have been worse Eldar costumes with a higher budget.

Those are the abs, upper arms and boobplates. In the top left you can see the attempt to convert Nerf disc guns into Shuriken Pistols, that's very much 'in progress'. Still to be drafted are the shin, wrist, thigh, kneepad, shoulder and backpack units - much more complicated, but underway.

I have about 3 weeks and feel more confident with every step I finish.

Hi! I got interested in using pepakura for making items from video games last summer. I'm nearing completion of my first build, Victorious Janna from league of legends. Being able to wear something from the game itself is the COOLEST thing ever. I work mostly with EVA foam and pepakura printouts. Hopefully I can get over my fears of loud machinery so I can work with power tools more.

I also have extensive experience with sewing, but despite this, I hate doing it. I'm slowly starting towards working with a sewing machine, I'm using a very old Singer currently that I'm growing to like. I've been doing some really causal costuming since I was 12ish, just altering stuff by hand sewing it.

I LOVE exchanging different methods of making stuff. There are so many variants on how to make something, I love learning new stuff. Hopefully, I will also make some new friends here.

Hello all,

I'm Dave and I've had the stormtrooper bug since I saw A New Hope when it came out in theaters.
My journey began last year with buying a Rubies costume last year and found out its not for a guy that's 6'2" and 250lbs. I sent it back and began the real journey to become a stormtrooper.
In my search I found this site and the 501st too.
In being caution of where to get my real set of armor, I decided to start with some of the props first. I ordered my first resin blaster kit with a pvc pipe, and quickly bought the second when my step daughter joined the cause.
And now begins the fun, as I search the threads to make a blaster worthy to be worn by an imperial stormtrooper :^)

Greetings everyone. I have always been interested in having a spiderman costume and a stormtrooper costume and Lunaman's pictures of his work both reignited that flame and via this forum gave me the resources to pursue it. I have don't have really any costuming experience, but I have done a little sewing in the past and I can program a microcontroller if needed.

Aloha everyone,

My name is Kamakana. I have been lurking on this site off and on for about a year and decided to register with the hope of finding tips for my current projects.

I am an enthusiast for obscure pop-culture prop replicas and have found myself spending more time here at RPF than I care to admit. I hope to to share my projects with you...if they are ever completed.

Hello everyone,

I've been a maker for a little while, mostly brought on by my formal education (graduated with a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering almost two years ago now). I find myself with more and more free time these days, along with some disposable income, and I've been getting into prop making, wanting to put my modest work space to good use.

I'll gladly help anyone who requires help with electronics, or anything electrical related, if I can!

Hello~ I'm new to the RPF, but i'm a long time costume maker. I'm starting to get serious about making costumes, thought mostly armor! I've been working on several pieces using EVA foam and different ways to make it do what I want. This is just my newest project.
