Hi, I'm Casey.

um I'm an artist from a Australia, I also roleplay on tumblr as Fandral the Dashing so I'm looking into making my own cosplay of him

Hey, I'm just like the rest of yall. An ultimate Star Wars fan currently working on an ESB Fett costume and Tie Fighter Pilot at the same time! And have been drooling over the chance to start a HIC. Large goals i know!

Greetings,
My name is Audy. It's been some time, but a long time ago I tried my hand at creating my own weapon props for Halloween and misc props when I was part of a Star Trek fan club crew. It wasn't always perfect, far from it for a fact, but I really enjoyed the creative process. I figured that I'd like to give it another try and maybe learn some proper prop building techniques. Not just weapons, but costume pieces and maybe some set props. I really like Star Wars and Star Trek, but I also like Steampunk and Pirates. I'm also a big fan of The Haunted Mansion ride in Disneyland.

I hope to get along with everyone and learn some new techniques and maybe be able to help others when the time comes.

Hello, Majorillness (don't worry, its not a bad thing and its totally curable lol) i.e. James. I used to live in Az but now live in the UK. Been a closet cosplay lover for a long time and I figure its time to embrace what I like, regardless of what anyone else thinks. I haven't made anything official, just a few random Halloween costumes. Really looking forward to getting into pep files and creating wearable suits. I'd love to do Baird from GOW but I feel that might be a bit ambitious for my first go.
Hopefully can bounce ideas around with likeminded people that can give experience, advice and tips to a newbie. Really want to go to the comicon event in Birmingham this year, but we'll see.

I've seen this community pop up in just about every page I've searched so I'm quite excited.

Hello!

I found this site while looking for tips on making an iron man suit. I basically stalked the site for a few months and started an Iron man project of my own. I would like to share what I have learned and learn all the more by being part of the site, not just a stalker. I'm currently working on an Iron man Portal crossover (Iron Glados if you will). It is still at the beginnning stages, and I'm making it out of foam. I've experimented with fiberglass, which is great! But foam is so much faster that I have been more drawn to it recently. Here are a few of the things I have so far:

Hello everybody, my name is Adam. I don't have a lot of experience or skill in prop making (yet) but it's something that has always fascinated me and I would love to start. I have a lot of experience in digital 3D modeling and animation, a decent amount of knowledge in technology for lights, switches, etc and have worked a little with clay and wood. I'm looking for a great learning experience through an internship. if any of you or maybe anyone you know is in the Albuquerque New Mexico area and could help me out that would be great.

Hello all I have had an interesting movie props for a long time but never had the time/skills to work on them. Now I have carved out the time and am working on developing the skills. I look forward to learning from and seeing what others have done. I am fan of most weapons and armor especially but I am beginning to appreciate the more nuanced parts of props as I really look at what out there.

Hey, it's me - Ren. After taking some time off from doing the College Thing I'm back in the swing of things. I'm into the whole retrocentric 1930/1940's WWII thing and wear a fedora everyday.

Also do retrocentric style design and have my own website. I would also like to offer my services to this bunch when needed.

Thanks. - Keep your chin up and your fedora on.

Hi, new member here. I have always had an interest in building, but have never had any free time. My brother bought me a Indiana Jones Holy Grail from a member in this community. Thought I'd finally take the plunge and build something.

Hi Everyone,

Glad to be on board again on this great forum. I used to be a member but life got in the way of my love for Star Wars and I stayed away for too long. So, now I am a new member :)
I have been a fan ever since I saw Star Wars in the cinema in 1977 as a seven year old. My dad continues to tell me to this day that his biggest mistake was taken me to see that movie ;-)
Even as a kid I always wanted to have a life-size Darth Vader, and R2 unit and Han Solo in Carbonite. It's the Han Solo in Carbonite that brought me back to the forum and I am hoping to start my build this year. I have one room in my house dedicated to Star Wars and my plans are to convert one wall of the room to the cove at Jabba's Palace to hang my favourite wall decoration. People may know me from my website starwarsarchives.com, but attention has since warped toward facebook. I am now in the process of updating the website again for social en responsive interaction and hope to be fully up and running very soon.
In terms of props I only have an awesome Darth Vader mask. I have the shoulder pads and the breast plate, but those need some work before I can display them. Work in progress.
Only other prop is a broken foam Jawa gun that I found in the desert of Tunisia two weeks after filming on Attack of the Clones was completed. I have been there a couple of times and visited several shooting locations, the Lars Homestead interior at Hotel Sidi Driss in Matmata, The exterior set of Lars Homestead in that salt desert at Nefta and of course the Mos Espa set build near Tozeur.
Collecting started with the toys of course, along the way I collected all the books, records and such. Collecting has turned into collecting rare photographs and production items. Toys not so much anymore, but I love star wars deformed stuff (like the Burger King toys). I hope this is enough introduction for now. If I am able to start work on my HIC I will post in this forum of course.

Cheers,

Stefan

Hi to everyone! Joined because of Star Wars prop builds, found a wealth of information here, great to see such dedication in movie prop accuracy. Looking forward to my own prop builds. Thanks

Hello there fair citizens.
As a 1966 Batman/Batmobile-fan I've just stumbled upon some great projects and models on this forum. So I couldn't help but to register myself. Another new old hobby of mine is Lego and since half a year I combine the love for televisionshows and movies with the plastick bricks. I'd really like some feedback from you guys and galls. This Lego-thing is part of my creative lifestyle I guess... My hobby is my work. I work as an illustrator, graphic designer, fineartist and amateur modelmaker. Other (amateur-)hobbies include guitar building and playing, graffiti/streetart, rockabilly, and bicyclebuilding. Did I forget anything..?

Oh, and I'm from The Netherlands. A small country in Europe some of you know as Holland.

Cheers!

Hey everyone.
I like making stuff. Not necessarily hard core about movie props (But I do want to make a Stormtrooper assault rifle, and possibly a 1:1 R2D2...) or Cosplaying (but I have and do...).
Have been making props, primarily for cosplay, and getting more and more into learning how to do it better. I am a bit of a perfectionist and like accuracy. Sadly the budget is always my limiting factor...

See ya around the forums!

Hi Folks,

Just signed up and wanted to say hi to you all. I'm really into movie props and model building as well as costume, in particular anything relating to Star Trek or Star Wars.
I'm also a massive comic book geek and lover of comic art and artists such as Adam Hughes, Terry Dodson, Frank Cho etc...
Conventions and Cos play seem to be really starting to take off over here in the uk which has finally given me an excuse to indulge in my hobby a bit (will post some pics later)

Anyhow don't want to bore you all, look forward to spending some time on this forum with like minded folk!
