Hello. My husband and I have just gotten into cosplay very recently. We have been to 3 Wizard Coms so far. Brian has had a hit with his Umbrella Corp costume. I just dressed as the vet from Helix. She was such a hoot. I was impressed that someone recognized me.
I found a corset at the last com and am going to create a steampunk character to go with it.
I used my I-phone to access this site and it won't let me reach FAQ's.

Hey, im Robin56. I love Young Justice and stuff like that, so I will be posting more about cosplay and that stuff. I like to make props for film makers and play with them. I am actually a film maker too. Batmans calling, so I gotta get off the BatComputer.

Hi everyone :)
I only just found this site today, I thought it was really cool. Amazing work on here, it's crazy what some people can do. I've not yet made any props or costumes, but I'm hoping to cosplay as Lara Croft from the 2013 Tomb Raider this September at a small local convention so I may do a post on making the ice pick she has or the costume.
Feel free to give me tips as I've never done this before!
I'm also going to try some Pepacura if I get a free moment, but I'm currently studying for my GCSE's so it might take a while :)

Hello everyone,

My name is David but I prefer to go by nickname Wolf. I'm a Star Wars fan but I'm truly dedicated to the Mandalorian culture. I have plans to create my own Mandalorian armor using different types of Star Wars armor.

The work here is inspiring. This forum is one of the most positive, constructive places I've ever seen on the interwebs. Happy to join.

Hello everyone, My name is Robert, I am new here and this is my first build so any advise is more than welcomed. I am attempting to build the Iron Patriot suit from foam. This is my first time working with foam and I am a little nerves not sure about what parts are cut at what angles. I will be posting pics as I go.

Hello RPF, I am new here and with inspiration from you all hoping to make some nice props and costumes. I am a complete beginner so any advise will be helpful, also I am not opposed to buying anything that would be too difficult to make since I live in a tiny row, I do not have a large area for working in or that many heavy duty tools at my disposal.

I am a superhero guy with the Flash being my all time favorite...and Captain America (I know how could I cross universes!!) being a close second. That is what lead me to this site, obviously the Cap shields on here are amazing so I will attempt a cheap one first with a satelite dish and then if I am confident enough in myself I will be willing to put more money into it.

I also have a small collection of action figures and am always looking to expand that. Not opposed to out of the box figures since I open them myself! They're mine and I want to set them up how I like not how they come in a box.

I am impressed with everything that I see from an entire suit that you can't even tell if a person is in it down to the littlest buckles that no one would think to have but it makes your builds that much better.

Hi everyone, I'm Donna. I seem to be the minority here, lol. I live on Long Island and I'm looking for someone who lives close by to join up on a project. I'm into Marvel, mostly Avengers, and would love to try and build something cool. I'm actually very good at following directions, lol. I have no idea what it takes to build some of the things I've seen. I in total awe of the talent you guys display. Looking forward to spending some money with you, lol.

Hey Everyone!

Ive lingered around the RPF forums for a few years now but never made an account until now. I dont have too many builds under my belt, mostly due to that I'm fresh out of high school and never had time. Now that I have time Im excited to start up again on some of the projects Ive put off. Im hoping that after joining and becoming part of the community ill learn more and have better results on future builds.

Some builds Ive done are:

Iron Man MK 42 Helm
Iron Man MK 3 Helm
Arc Reactor and Repulsors
Halo Reach Jun Helm
Halo 3 Hayabusa Helm
Amon from Legend of Korra
Deathstroke from Arkham Origins

I love doing this as a hobby but my real passion and interest is film, and I hope that one day ill be able to make props/and direct my own short film. Im currently studying in criminal justice and learning the ropes around theatre at the same time. Ive also grown up with comics and love both Marvel and DC, and if I could work for either that'd be fantastic. But I am a dreamer. :)

Future Builds:
Captain America Shield
Starlord Helm
Ultron lifesize armor/statue

Now enough about me. Tell me about yourself! I hope that ill be able to meet new people and aspire within the community. Cheers!

Hi,

I'm a cg artist and would like to check out this forum. There are some great works arround and I hope to make my own suit one day ;)

Hi everyone. I found this site looking for ideas of things to make in my machine shop. I am medically retired from the US Army after 13 years and numerous deployments. Like I said I have my own machine shop and usually do work for friends still in the service and for my own personal enjoyment. However I felt that I could take my talents and make money, so after coming up with a business plan and a partner we started a company. We make props and costumes how people want them. If that is 100% accurate to comics, movies, tv shows that's great. But if the customer doesn't like the way the original looks, feels, sounds whatever, then I am more than happy to make it the way they want. Guess I'm kind of like burger king. I strive to fill that niche by making the highest quality items I can.
I was pleasantly surprised after seeing some of the items that people were making on this site. I look forward to interacting with the community here and hope to share knowledge, thoughts and passion for our lifestyle/hobby. I am a very open individual and will answer any and all questions. I also love constructive criticism as I feel, that is one of the best ways to grow and learn. I know some people may have strong feelings about individuals that have served in the Military and some may also feel as if they want to ask questions, but may be worried that it would be considered rude or some other such nonsense. I am proud of my service and will gladly answer questions about that part of my life as well.
I have spent 15 years in total as a hobbyist machinist/welder/electronics tinkerer. I have held many 2nd jobs to include carpenter, mechanic, computer builder, destructor of all things that move, use electricity, have metal, wood or plastic in them. I love higher math, astrophysics and my three children. Finally I am writing my first science fiction novel. I am easily bored and love trying new things. I am involved with GISHWES for the second time this year.
My current hobby projects include making arrows and flechettes from the TV show Arrow, Batman and related characters equipment and Sonic screwdrivers. I will be posting pics of my builds soon. If anyone would like to see anything I make or would like to see me make something, just let me know.

Hi all
I've been in the movie biz for 24 year now and been lucky enough to work on some amazing film's. I've now got to that point when I no longer physically make thing, just draw and point leaving all the dirty work to others. but I remember why I got in to the biz in the first place. I thought it was time to start making things at home just for the love of it and a bit of fun. I was recommended this site so lets see what the future holds :)

Hello Everyone!

I've been a fan of small plastic model kits for as long I can remember and really enjoy working them. This year I've finally decided to join the costuming community and decided to put together a Spider-man costume. Extremely excited to be a part of the RPF and looking forward to contributing to the community!

Hello! Be prepared for silly questions, as I'm new to this. I like the idea of model kits, but when I go to a hobby shop, they never have what I'm looking for. Thing is, I don't know what I'm looking for. I dig the Star Trek stuff, but it's hard to find stuff that strikes my fancy. That's part of it, the other part is that, as much as I like to put together some models, it's not very recreationally fulfilling as you're just following the instructions and gluing part 356A to 356B. The kits I'd really like are in the hundreds of dollars. So I finally got the bright idea that I could probably do this myself, and that there were probably a ton of resources on the web for this kind of activity. So I'm going to give it a shot. Because why not?

Hi all!

As you can likely tell, I am a HUGE fan of The Fifth Element. I have a decent-sized collection of items - replicas of the stones that I hand painted, model kits, and a custom Leeloo figure that's probably going to be torn down and rebuilt now that I've thought through some decisions and want to improve her. I'm also an artist, and I blog about The Fifth Element with intentions of releasing an "unofficial guide to" book on the film. I have tons of other stuff too, as well as Leeloo's tattoo and many, MANY variations of the soundtrack, all of which are official prints. I could go on...Even my license plate is a tribute to the film!

I love coming here to see the replicas that many of you have made or the collections you have.

I am also a Star Wars fan (my first love, actually), and I just love sci-fi and fantasy in general.

I'm a huge David Bowie fan, and I work in a tiny independent bookstore. I love to draw, read, and write. And collect stuff, of course. :)

Howdy Y'all,

Longtime lurker here from Texas. I work as an architect during the day but at night I'm a film buff. Movies are pretty much my passion in life. In college the best part of studio classes was making all the architectural models and basically making your designs come to life in miniature. Sadly, in today's industry most architectural model building has been supplanted by digital modeling. So these days I channel more former model making skills into prop and costume making for the occasional cons I attend. Been enjoying reading the various topics here and wowed by the quality of the work produced by this forum's contributors. Well, that's all for now! Cheers!

Hello Everyone! I am a huge fan of this forum. I have been building custom costumes for the past 7 years. I am a very experienced sculpture and artist and 3D modeler. super2.png
this is my latest creation.
