Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Names Steve,

New to the RPF and prop making but have been involved in casualty simulation makeup and basic latex prosthetics for a little while. I love Hallowween and always do my own make up! Two years ago I made devil horns, last year was terminator...this year either zombie or two face!

Love the work everyone is doing here and looking forward to interacting with people to make my fandom props a reality!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi! New to the site. I have been on gbfans looking over ghostbuster props and I have a costume though I cannot take credit for the proton pack build. I would love to build my own in the future. Hope to find more ideas for costuming, cosplay, and props.

Rock out!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I have lurked here for a long time. I have been a member for a couple of years but mostly just to send PMs.

I am a custom toy designer you may have seen my work around the web. it can be seen at my site SILLOF's WORKSHOP: featuring the custom action figures and dioramas of sillof.

I actually started off in replica props. My dad was a tool and die maker and it was a great way to bond. Unfortunately he has an Alzheimer's like disease and can no longer use his hands effectively. For a long time I just stopped making props and that coincided with my custom figures taking off. My work has been seen around on TV, I have worked for some fims, and recently did a commission for Patton Oswalt. But recently I have begun to dabble back in the replica props field, just for fun. I plan on being active on the boards in the futures.

thanks

Hello I am William aka Vanilla of Nerd Sucker Punch. We are a youtube group who are working on a web series entitled Mario In. We are low budget and are looking for tips and tricks to help us create some props and costumes for our series.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello there,
My name is Clive, and I am looking for some things to make a 501st approvable ROTJ Vader costume, and I live in Australia to make things a little more interesting. I do not know where to start looking, so I am looking anywhere I can to try and find the things I need to fulfil my ambitions. Look forward to hearing from you for anything that may be of help to me.

Clive.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello from New York,

About two months ago my sons gave me a daunting challenge to build them (Twins) and Iron man suits. So my research began and lead me to here. I have to say you all build some of the most outstanding props. I have fabricated thing before but nothing like this, I am in the process of building Mk 6 helmet since it seems to the hardest part of it to build. To get some experience in using pepakura format and the process to build from it. I have a great respect for you guys and gals in your builds. So if there is any suggestion ( do or Don'ts ) it will be greatly helpful. I will be posting photo of our whole process and the build and in hopes for other newbie that this is a learning curve and don't be discourage but to have fun.

Thomas Edison said once "I didn't fail I just figure out 10,000 ways not to do it."

Thanks

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, I have recently bought my first 'prop replica' which was a NECA Gremlin. I then bounced from one site to another feasting my eyes on different props and I came across Audrey 2 references and they said I could get them on here. So thats why I first joined, but already I have been reading a lot and learning a lot to!!
I want to get one of those Gremlins kits from Thailand, but a lot of people say they are inferior and require a LOT of extra work.. and I dont have the expertise to do it Im afraid! Maybe one day!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, everyone,
I've been lurking around here for a while but decided I needed to introduce myself. I've been 501st since 2005, starting with Jango Fett, then E3 clone, and currently working on an ROTJ Vader. Besides Star Wars, I'm into comics and video games, though not as much as when I was a kid. If I were to do a "good guy" costume, I'd probably go Cap from "The First Avenger"
I live in OK, so let me know if any of you are local.

Pete

Hi All

Long time lurker, Not much in the way of Posting. Hailing from the "Sunny" NW of the US, heheh. I've been Pepping for about a year now. Originally started to help fund my international adoption (which is now complete). So far I've only actually completed 1 piece Which was given away instead of used in the fund raising (see images). I'm hoping that jumping into the community will spur me to complete my current bench projects. Warmachine, Boushh, The Green Goblin, a Custom Predator Bio, and the project i'm posting here later on my Tie Pilot

Completed Piece:

So watch this space there's more on the way.

Tass.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, all.

I'm primarily an actress and make-up artist, but I'm super interested in costuming and cosplaying. Specifically in building my ultimate fan cosplays: Harley and River Song. Thought I'd sign up.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone!

I've lurked on the forums for quite awhile now, and realized I never introduced myself. I'm out of Greensboro, NC and love all of the recreations I've seen in your posts. I have nothing to boast about myself...yet. I love cosplay and have worn a couple of simple costumes in the past (Scar from Full Metal Alchemist most prevalently) but this year I'm going to DragonCon in Atlanta and wanted to really step things up. I'm a World of Warcraft junkie and have some projects I'm going to need help on. I look forward to talking with you all!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

In a nutshell, I found this site through my quest for getting a Blade Runner blaster prop.
Of course there's a longer story, but that's it for now.

My history is more about collecting than crafting. Hopefully we can change some of that.

Some of my stuff:

Freddy Kruger glove built by Anders Erickson
Lindsay Family Discerner built by Albion, the design used for Boorman's Excalibur
A real S&W M29 8.375" barrel ... not really a prop but definitely inspired by Taxi Driver
My 7.5" barreled version is my Dirty Harry gun (even though he used a 6" .. and a .357 N-Frame m-27 was used during filming)
A Uberti Cattleman that looks just like Bronson's gun in One Upon a Time in the West (I can't afford a real Colt SAA)
The UC limited-edition Anduril sword ... kinda underwhelming but it's an investment
and other junk.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi guys, I'm Max. :D

I heard about this place for forever, just never really took the time to join until now. I was really motivated by Stealth and his Iron Man suit tutorials and all, and decided to make a few suits for myself. I'm new to pepakura building, as well as fiberglassing, resin and all that bondo stuff, which is why I joined. I also wanted to be a part of a community familiar with all this so I could have an awesome building experience. Seriously, I wish I had joined sooner.

So far, the first prop I've ever made is the Iron Man Mark VI arc reactor (with the help from Stealth's tutorials). Not the best as it's my first prop, but really sycced about making more in the future. Right now I'm more focused on putting together my Mark VI helmet.

Hope to get to know you all soon!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone, names Johnny, I'm from New Zealand. Attended my first Armageddon last year (NZ's small version of a Con), and after this year I thought I'd give my first costume build a go. Am gonna give the Blade 1 cosplay a turn and see how things turn out. I've got some leather gloves so far and a few tutorials on making fangs (which I'm gonna give a go this weekend). Have the EDTA Darts planned and the silver stakes as well. Will hopefully begin my build thread soon. Wish me luck, and luck wished to anyone else giving their first build a go. Nice one peoples, later :p
