Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, I am Jeremy from Waco, TX. I have toyed with the idea of costuming for some time, but have never really started anything. I am a bit challenged in the arts, but there are a lot of things I would like to attempt. I have lurked for some time, and have been enjoying the RPF updates on FaceBook. Finally decided to attempt a costume, and registered because I have run into a few problems. Looking forward to seeing what I can learn here.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello All,

I'm Stuart from Adelaide, Australia. I initially found this place via Adam Savage's 'Still Untitled' podcast. I have finally joined up due to my hoping to find some guidance on prop sword crafting. I am planning to convert an Utrasabers light-saber into a Necron Warglaive (heresy, I know). I hope to find some tutorials or build guides.

Cheers,

geomod

Hello everybody,

I'm Charlie from Ohio, not really a new member, i'm a lurker, but never introduced myself. I love the little obscure props that only a true fan would recognize.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi,
I'm James from NY, I have been lurking for the past month and trying my hand at Pepakura, since they turned out really well I am gonna start working on some props and see how they turn out, when I am not lurking here I am volunteer Firefighting, out with friends, sleeping, gaming, working out and other stuff. Got into the idea of this after going to NY Comic Con 12 and seeing all the sick costumes and figuring I can pull off something awesome for NYCC13.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi gang.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Keen mostly on the video game end of things and, now that I have my garage cleaned out and set up properly, actually working on some replicas. Looking at my first project at the moment, which doesn't actually use the garage at all, ironically and is a simple costume.

Looking forward to getting advice and looking at work that is infinitely better than mine.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all,

I'm Mike from Seattle, WA. I'm a software engineer geek by day, sci fi geek by night! I'm a huge fan of Star Wars and Warhammer 40K. I'm currently about 1/2 way through building my first lightsaber prop. I think after this prop is done I may have to try to figure out how to make some prop jedi armor. I am completely clueless on how to make armor-type replicas so I expect I will do a bunch of browsing and asking of questions on this site.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey guys! I'm new to the hobby, hence the reason why I am on this thread haha. My first project is going to be Luke's lightsaber from ESB, well as soon as I can get a 3 cell graflex flashgun on ebay for the right price haha. Well stay tuned! I'll post pictures when I start the project! :D

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello Everyone,

My name is Albie, I live in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I am an all-around geek with varied sci-fi and fantasy interests (Star Wars, Dresden Files, Star Trek, most Marvel stuff [esp Iron Man!]). I was very pleased to find this site and learn from other's experiences. I am new to replica costume creating and I am starting my first Iron Man suit next week. I must say this is an amazing community and I appreciate all the information the members have shared. I look forward to this and future projects and seeing all of your work!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey guys, I'm a long time lurker on the site and have wanted to cosplay and create my own costumes for a couple years now and now I will be able to. I am in the process of creating an NCR veteran ranger costume for NYCC and am just starting on the armor/helmet, and am hoping to finish it in the next month or so. Great to he here.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone

I used to be part of the RPF another life time ago... I`ve been looking in every once and a while, being tempted to rejoin, this place is adictive... I know.

I`ve been working as a props and mold maker in the film industry for the past 18 years, with a 7 year stint as the Props specialist for Cirque du Soleil... Now I teach props building in the theatre department at the local college. The best job ever.

Props are my life.

I`ll try to be as active as possible, but my props contracts never stop, my personnal projects are at a standstill because of it... but every day is a treat.

One thing is for sure, I`ve seen a lot of nice work coming from this community of artists, keep it up!

Patrice

Hey there! New member Alert!

I'm Steve - live in Washington D.C. as a Live Stage Actor and Medical Writer - Currently working on a Man of Steel Supes Costume. Have the Lycra Sewn up, purchased urethane pieces, working on boots, and then trying to see if anyone in the RPF can point me in the right direction to get a puff paint/light screen job added to the Lycra Suit to give it that Sheen. If you know anyone, please PM me. Thanks!

Regards! Up, up, and away!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all,

I just started getting into building props last week. When I was a youth I built kit models, but they where just dollar store kits of cars mostly, I did a few boats/ships and some planes, but i stuck mostly to cars. I have all ways like making thing with my hands; I think that there is no better feeling than knowing that you made something with you own bare hands. Since I am just starting out, there is a lot I do not know, and this is why I decided to join the form. I look forward to learning from you guys and make some cool props.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello,
Like all of you, I am very interested in film props. However, unlike most of you, I have not invested much time into replicating them myself and the RPF is the motivation I needed it.
I am currently researching an "entry-level" prop to replicate and I am looking forward to sharing my progress with you.
Cheers!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi Guys, new recruit here from the UK. Been lurking for a while but now time to get official. I'm a big fan of the Indiana Jones series as well and countless other movies & TV series going back to my childhood in the 70's.
Have a few IJ props as this is the genre that really interests me. Look forward to this greater universe...

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone. I'm here on a recommendation from a friend. I love props! I don't own too many. Just replicas from Buffy, Warehouse 13, Uncharted and Resident Evil. I will expand as time goes on, I hope. Anyways, it's nice to be here.

Hola. I teach film at The Savannah College of Art & Design and have always loved making props for movies. I found this site while searching for a way to create Reggie's Shotgun from Phantasm 2 our schools Humans vs Zombies! Now i'm working on some warhammer and hellboy inspired weapons for HvZ!
