Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

New to the site. Lurked for a couple days decided I like the place and signed up.

Most of what I have made so far has been for my son's Halloween get ups.

Last year made him up a GB Proton pack in foam with lights, all scaled to fit him. All started with the comment he made about the balloon style pack the off the shelf costume has "this sucks, can you make me one I can play with" to which I replied "I don't see why not"

Not 100% accurate, but good enough for him to horse around with. He still runs around the house with it :lol

Little vid I made of the wand lights Ghost Busters Proton Wand Lights In a Dark Room - YouTube

All was altered and adjusted scale from plans on GBFans site. Made my own electrics for the wand and pack.

Found my way here because this year he wants to be the Terminator, and have the lever action shotgun from second movie. In the process of us building it he asked if we could build a Hellboy Samaritan. In my research on that I ran across the forum. Liked it, so I signed up. Lot a good reference stuff on here.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone, I am not new to props in general, but I am new to some of the build styles on here. I have been mostly into ghostbusters props for the most part, but now I'm ready to try new things. I'm looking at building an Iron Man suit, but I'm not sure which version I want to try. The first project I think I will do is my wife's Black Widow costume. I am very interested in learning how to make my own molds and castings. I specialize in automotive paint and bodywork, so I'm pretty good at color matching.
Hopefully after a couple of builds I will be able to help share experience and knowledge like everyone else is doing. I have already learned so much from looking around the build forums and I have only been here for a few days.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Been lurking for a few years, figured I'd might as well sign on and "make it official." I'm active over at Club Obi Wan and making Indy props/costume pieces. Also made a variety of blasters, sabers, and steam-props, as well as creating Cthulhu-themed "artifacts" as inspiration strikes. More into sewing and embroidering now--maybe too many years of breathing spraypaint fumes... Cheers.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, Ive been interested in prop replicas since 1992 when I attended the 25th anniversary Star Trek convention and saw all the folks there with props for sale. After that time I started buying resin casts and assembling and painting them. I still wish that i would have bought the metal Babylon 5 PPG that was for sale there. I have wanted one of those since that time. I hope to learn from the membership so that I can improve my skills.

Hello I'm Donna,

I found this board by way of Dave Lowe's Design blog (a Creative Inspiration entry with an Adam Savage video). Happy to be here.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone,

My name is Carlos, and I am here to learn about the techniques of replica prop making and to see the amazing work that everyone is doing. I am particularly impressed with the Iron Man stuff which so many people are working on. It's so interesting the way everyone has decided to tackle the challenges that such a complicated build presents.

I am also interested in learning ways to model. I have a few ideas about how to make a pretty cool costume that I don't want to spill the beans on, but I am very excited about. I actually already have some questions for everyone and I hope to help everyone in any way that I can.

I hope I get to meet some of you sometime,

Carlos

Hi everyone!

Creating effects and props has been a long time passion/hobby for me and I finally worked up the gumption to join this forum after a few years of lurking the boards.

I'm looking forward to discussions and the sharing of ideas with everyone.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi! I'm new to this site, but I've been reading for a few years, looking at ideas.
I love to costume, and fortunately have four kids to dress up, plus myself and husband, so that is fun. Everyone has different interests and ideas, so I get to do a lot of different stuff.
We do ren fest also, so thats another costuming occasion we all have fun with.
My favorite costume movies are any POTC and Alice in Wonderland.
I am currently working on a Darkside Tinkerbell, the guy from the video game Dishonored ( I just learned his name and have already forgotten it), and a lime green ninja. My oldest girl is 16 and is starting to think she is too old to dress up:( I am trying to dissuade that line of thinking.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello. Been signed up for about a year. Spent some time lurking, but haven't really had any time or money to work on any projects. It's always nice to admire the work of others. My wife and I are into collecting and model building but haven't really taken on anything ambitious. I'd like to get into doing a 1:1 scale Big Daddy costume from Bioshock and absolutely love Volpin's build! I was working on a frame for awhile, but had to put the project on hold. Before some finances went south for us awhile back, I was in talks with Mr. Krix about possibly borrowing his portal molds back when he still had them. I love the professional quality work you all do on your various projects here on RPF. Look forward to being a part of the community.

Never have been good at introductions, so I'll just jump right in. My name is Kirk, friends call me Captain. My username was chosen because I am a huge Dexter fan, it seemed fitting haha.

I'm from England, I'm 33 and I still watch the original Transformers cartoons and play with the toys. my inner child has beaten my adult self into submission. I wouldn't say I'm an avid prop collector, but I do like to dabble.

I have a somewhat small collection, consisting of Buffy stake, Slayer Scythe, Jason x mask, Neca remake glove, and Cinderella glass slipper. I am currently in the process of making a Rorschach mask.

Forgot about my lifesize Autobot matrix replica, that deserves honorable mention :)

Hello all. I came across this forum when researching my Google Analytics. I saw several links to my Etsy shop from here. I was pleased to find a place where there are more people like me. I simply like to create.
While I am not into cosplay myself, many of my clients are avid fans. I appreciate the creative nature of costume design and construction and the challenges they present.

Hello everyone
my name is Eddie and I am from Tampa Florida
I am new to costume and prop building. I recently saw a few videos on how to build Ironman and halo costumes and found it quite interesting. but since I am not a huge Ironman or halo fan I wanted to try to build something different so I decided on a RTR costume and found it is very difficult to get any specifications on it because of Mr. Flintstone. so I am looking forward to being a part of this community

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all

Im not sure if I have already posted in here.

My names Ray, im 31 and was born in Glasgow, I now stay in England and are a goal keeper coach through at Walsall - I love collecting Freddy Krueger stuff (masks, gloves, figures, etc)

I also love anything to od with Freddy Krueger and Back to the future films, mainly part 1 and 2.

I love collecting trainers (rare) my main reason for collecting lots of trainers is because when I was young, I was bullied for wearing cheap trainers, so I have a fixation nowadays for collecting expensive ones, if that makes sense.

I also love collecting old Adidas Predators from the early 90`s (football boots) :)

Im an easy going guy, Im not nasty, im genuinely friendly and always want to help people.

Thats all I can think of at the minute

Take care all :)
