re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all, I came across this site trying to look into pepakura files to make a Companion Cube from the portal games and ended up stumbling upon Stealths Iron man tutorials which planted the idea in my head and brought me right here. This is my first build and I've already started cutting out my templates and gluing together so I'm really looking forward to getting further with it, with a lot of help from the amazing projects I've seen here. Can't wait to share everything with you all :)

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings, Mike from northern New York presently residing in Pittsburgh, PA. I happened across this site while researching an upcoming project (TOS Phaser 1 & 2). I have found lots of great information and inspiration. My only forays into prop reproduction have been a wooden phaser and communicator while a freshman in high school ( I graduated in '78 so it's been a few years). More recently I happened upon a Dickel Powderhorn bottle for $2.00 at a flea market and gave it the Saurian Brandy Bottle treatment. I hope my meager offerings can compare favorably to the projects I've seen on display here.

Figured I should join, add my thoughts, and ask questions as relevant.

Hello! Names Brian but I go by Balgosa Windspire on the internet. I am a video editor for a living in the game industry but I have a big passion for all things props and particularly Star Wars.

I'm currently a member of the 501st as a ANH Stormtrooper.

Hello all! Long time lurker (for research!), new member! I'm a seasoned costumer that has recently gotten into prop making and armor building. I'm a member of RL and I'm really into accuracy in my costuming. I'm about to start on my DCnU Black Canary (thus the armor building venture), another Padme Amidala Skywalker outfit, and remaking my SGA uniform. Looking forward to the resources!

I heard about this site recently and thought I would come over and join the fun! I am a fan of Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Star Trek and Logan's Run. One thing I have always wanted was a working prop gun from Logan's Run. I have always felt it was the coolest looking gun from any film.

Hi from Arizona! Didn't take me all but 10 mins of finding this forum to realize that some of you guys are living my dream! Like a 1:1 scale Falcon console. Wow...and these Vader costumes. I now have yet another thing to add to my bucket list! At least I think the Vader costume will be before the full scale Falcon!

I like to buy props and such from noblecollection.com but I would really like to make some of my own. I really like the forum that hinkypunk made( hope I spelled that right sorry) with all of the printable harry potter stuff. I've looked at some threads and a lot of you guys are so freekin talented! Can't download pics at the moment but have experimented with a few book props. Looooove them!!! Thanx:)

Hi
Based in Leeds in the UK, spent a lot of time browsing the forum, hoping to get time to build some replica props in the future.
Build museum exhibitions for a living, currently working on a new exhibition based around combat and gaming.

Hello everyone. Just thought I would be a good citizen and introduce myself. I've been reading this forum for a while now and decided to register and start a project.

I've dabbled in cosplay as Master Roshi and made my own turtle shell which I am mostly unhappy with. This forum has inspired me to rethink that prop, but more significantly I'm planning to tackle a foam Iron Man costume for next years Fan Expo.

I'm blown away by the depth of talent and all the protips and resources here. Wish I'd found you all sooner.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi. I've always been interested in making props. Hopefully I'll have something cool to post at some point :) I just got access to a 3D printer, a shopbot, and a bunch of other cool machinery so I'm pretty stoked about that!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi

Found this site last night, some very cool information on here and useful links.

Building a Stormtrooper suit, E11 blaster and a DL-44 at the moment. Almost there on the Stormtrooper armour, just need to fix the last few items into place.

E11 almost complete, after a real Hengstler box and the capacitors for the top. Made it from a deactivated Sterlaing and got a real M38 sight.

THe DL 44 (ANH)is lacking a sight and grill, somewhere out there I will find them.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello,
In accordance with suggested policies, here is a brief intro. I've been referencing The RPF for a couple of years for prop and costume tips and suggestions. There are a lot of really talented people here. Once upon a time I had hoped to work for ILM's model shop (RIP), but that didn't happen, although I did briefly work for Lucasfilm in a capacity that allowed me to visit the model shop and ogle some of their fantastic work. Recently I've been collecting a few prop replicas and I soon hope to have the space and resources to start making some of my own, so I figured it was time to create an account and start getting involved. Mostly I like simply collecting and putting costumes together, but there are some that I probably can't complete without building some of the components myself. It is my pleasure to join the community.
