Greetings everyone!

I'm a huge film buff and a filmmaker in Upstate New York. Currently I work on making cinematics and cameras for video games and work on my own films in my spare time. For the past year or so, I've been working on a short film (~30 mins) that takes place in the Star Wars universe about 25,000 years before the films. Needless to say, this requires a lot of props and I thought I would be able to pick up some pointers here. The level of talent here is pretty astounding and I'd love to get into the prop-making game. Hi everyone! Name's Ricardo, from Costa Rica. I've always liked to build stuff. I've not put myself really into it, because... well, because it's really hard for one to make a living out of that kind of hobby here in my country.

But i've decided this is really what I want to dedicate my free time to: build replica props, make sculptures of characters and vehicles, that kind of stuff. I haven't found anything more gratifying than the feeling of completing one of such creations, and nothing more enjoyable than the proccess of getting it done. And maybe later I can try and really make some money out of it...

Right now i'm working on a (yet another) replica Iron Man suit. I was making my own 3D model and planned to do some pepakura files, but I found some great ones already done... so why reinvent the wheel? : D Of course I'll give credit where credit is due. I'm working on the helmet right now. I'll post the progress here and hopefully it can help or inspire others; and I may learn something in the process as well XD

I really like the community and look forward to exchanging ideas with some of you!

Hello everyone, Im a guy from sweden who found this website through xRobots Youtube videos in my search for ways to make an IM suit.
I have no experience in this area (yet) but me and my friends came up with the briliant idea to hit the clubs dressed up as the avengers, awesome !
But the problem...iron man, so i decided that ill make it myself rather than buying an ugly muscle suit.

So here i am looking for all the tips on the subject that i can find.
Right now im just trying to locate all the right materials for a foam suit ( EVA foam is not that common in sweden )

Hey, I'm Honey Badger (I'd be surprised if no one has seen that video yet.).

I found the site here when Adam Savage mentioned it a few times in testedcom's Youtube channel recently. I've always loved movies, not as a movie, but for the behind the scenes, technology type stuff. In other words, I'm a huge geek. I've never actually made anything as far as props go but I've tried. I usually stopped due to a lack of materials. Now, We're currently in the process of moving so I expect to have TONS of boxes for making things. I'd love to make Darth Vader and Storm trooper costumes soon as well as a few weapon and movie camera props. I'd love to freak out a few friends with something like that.

Well.. I'm a massive Star Wars fan, I love trucks, I love exploding trucks, Big Mythbusters fan (But who isn't)

So far I've only got a small collection, one of which I have shared with the community, the other I'l be getting some snap shots of in a day or so. Hardly been on the forum for 24 hours now & I'm already addicted to it. ^.^
My collection cosists so far of Star Wars costumes. (Clone helm & a Jedi costume, yet to be posted.)

Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Steve, I'm a nurse in Central CA and have tried my hand at props once before. I attempted a 1:1 scale build of the Robot from Lost in Space (the series) I got many of the peices done before my daughter was born and my life got very busy and I needed to sell the Robot. A fantastic builder in SF purchased it and finished it. Our work (Mostly his, I have to give credit where credit is due.) even appeared in an episode of a series called "Prototype This." Recently, while researching DIY Portal Gun plans for my son, I got turned on to this site and am very impressed at the awesome work that I see here. It has inspired me to attempt the Portal gun myself.

Hello there. I'm not new to costumes but I'm new here. I'm actually in the process of making an Iron Man Mark VII suit... and for every piece I accomplish... I just can't stop grinning. Out of all of my friends and costume circles, I am the only one to make a suit of armor, my last on being Warrior Hawke from Dragon Age 2. I look forward to learning a lot of tips and tricks from these forums. Hopefully I'll muster up the courage to post some progress pics.

Hi all
My name is Alfred, live in Melbourne Australia.
I have always been into model making (ships & planes) . Have always loved sci/fi and have made some kits over the years like the Lunar models Jupiter Two.
I have also made some costumes in the past for the kids and myself. I am new to using computers and still finding my way around the RPF ,the things I have seen here have blown me away. I didnt know there were so many costume makers out there.
I like all things Planet of the Apes, so made a Soldier Ape costume but after seeing some Ape costumes here I think I may trash mine and start again.
