re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone! Been a long time lurker around here and thought i should finally step up! Im located up in calgary alberta canada and gonna do a round 2 of ironman with pepakura foam templates from the foammasters stealth and robo3687! I apologize if i missed anyone in that thread as everyone has a alot of insight and information to make excellent builds!

First build consisted of a pepakura helmet and paper mache body.. not bad for a first attempt and limited supplies. This time around, i know what i need to do!

Thanks for listening and thanks a ton for all the information all you rpfs provide!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everybody,

I was a registered member back in 1999, but it looks like my user name didn't make the transition over the years. I've been away for awhile but my enthusiasm for models and props hasn't. My first purchase was a Don Post Fett helmet. I still have it and a bunch of other stuff collecting over the years.

Nice to see all the familiar names and the great sense of humor remains. Reminds me of "the old days".

glad to be back!

Chris

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey folks,

Been an occasional reader but finally registered to become 'official'.

Been working on a proton pack for about 1.5 years and with that wrapping up in hopefully a few months, I've been looking into my next project, a Rocketeer costume. Also want to build a just a few helmets for displaying in the office.

I'll start with a PEP helmet to get my hands into working with it and trying some resin work for the first time. Looking forward to it.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there from the uk, I found this site ( the other version) while looking for ghostbusters proton pack builds/reference and I just fell in love with all the creativity and geekery on here

My first build is a ghostbusters 1 proton pack, thrower and acessories. and my second will be a ghostbusters stunt pack (can be lent out to friends) I'll start a thread once I've got some good progress on it .

Once they are done I may attempt a pepakura storm trooper helmet or one of the daft punk helmets.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Aha. So there is an introduction thread :) *Waves* hi. My names Leo and I know many members of the RPF. Thought I'd better get myself onto these forums as well. I live in the UK and am an active member of the Galactic Knights costuming group. You can usually find me out and about at events dressed as Clone trooper Comet from the 104th Wolfpack of the TCW series.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all. I found this place while looking for new staff ideas. I like making weapons and armor, but with my young sons wanting to join the party, I've started looking into lighter/non-deadly options to make them :) Hope this site helps in the instruction dept. Cheers!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all,

A friend recommended I visit since I have been starting back at the prop making hobby!

./wave

see you out there!!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I am very much a beginner at prop making, and am very happy to have found this forum. I am a programmer turned librarian in daily life.

Last year, I joined our local hackerspace, both to learn new skills and have access to tools I couldn't afford. I have since picked up the basic skills for blacksmithing, welding, and soldering, and make frequent use of the laser cutter in the space.

I have been interested in making non-electric automata for a long time, so I am learning the skills there that I need to get started. In addition, I have started making basic props and amateur art pieces to get signed at local horror and sci-fi conventions (I got bored with getting stills autographed). I don't have anything impressive enough to show on here yet, but I'm learning a LOT from reading the posts and seeing the pictures on here.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone, I have browsed the RPF over the past few years but I thought I should join up now that I back in the game. I teach sculpture & mold making and I freelance in film and tv. I really enjoy seeing the amazing work you guys do, I'm always keen to learn a new way to skin a cat.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all,
I'm James from Alabama and this site was recommended to me. I've been costuming for a couple years now. My two main costumes are Captain America and Batman, which I continue to upgrade when I can. I'm attempting to start up a group in my state to visit events and hospitals and hope so see some of you at DragonCon this year.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I don't think I actually introduced myself... I'm Maggie (as if the username wasn't a good hint), I'm a full-time sculptor, though generally not of props, and I've been reading here for quite a while!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello it looks like in my excitement I jumped the gun a bit and posted a new thread about my project before I posted here, sorry:unsure. I've only just started making props recently. For whatever reason I started with a really hard project building a proton pack from scratch. But it actually turned out pretty good, I'll have to put up the pics soon. In any case I'm excited to contribute to this site since it has been quite the resource and motivation for me.

Edit: atm my project post must be under review or something so I guess I accidentally did things in the right order lol
