re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, my name is Javier. I'm from Barcelona (Spain)

I've been a big fan of 89 Batman movie for 22 years. I found BOTB forum board 8 years ago and started researching info & assembling my own batsuit replica. Today I can say it's almost complete with RD pieces.

I've to say this community is amazing! I'll be entertained for days browsing all Batman related threads.

Cheers!

It's nice to meet you all! Everyone seems supa interesting :3

Hello everyone!
My name`s Pavel( the diminuative would be 'Pasha', with the stress on the first 'a'), I`m from Zheleznodorozhniy town( it`s one of Moscow outskirts\suburbs), Russia. (It actually translates as 'Railroadtown').

I stumbled upon this forum while googling for 'prop making' and boy there`s way more fantastic info here than I could digest! I`ve only made one attempt at 'quick and dirty' polyester resin casting yet( will be posting pictures in the First prop thread, please forgive me if it is misplaced, as it was made for LARPing purposes and isn`t a 'movie prop' per se), but now that I`ve seen so much awesome stuff here, I`m not stopping >_<.

Also, my English is not very fluent, so if you detect any errors\misspellings\etc, feel free to correct me.

My hobbies include living history reenactment(german landsknechts) - making period garb\footwear\accessories, LARPing and basic armoursmithng.

So hello everyone and thanks for having me around!
Pasha.

Hello guys, I'm new in the forum and would like to give a greeting to all. I am Italian and I was a little difficult to write in English, if it is not a problem I would like to write in Italian. However, I create many replicas at home and I really like! even a greeting to all :)

Hi my name is James, I found this site some how, not sure what I was looking for when I found it.
I am friends with StarWars Chick on Facebook and see she i a member here also so that is cool.

I haven't made any costumes yet but when I can I will start, the most I have done is formal wear in my martial arts group, which I turned in to Jedi garb, and ordered the obi-wan belt from ebay and the anakin boots from comiccostumes.com.

I have seen and read a lot of the posts here and I am so impressed that I wish I could dive in and make my costumes. lol

My friends call me Scythe, it is from my semi-pro MMA stint, so feel free to call me that if you wish.

Hello all, a quick bit about me.. I'm a sci-fi nerd and a tech geek, though I like the way my wife put it best; she said, "you're a mountain-climbing, whitewater-kayaking, motorcycle-riding geek who can fix any car, motorcycle or boat on the planet, and that's hot".

My first degree was in Automotive Systems Technology, and I'm currently working in that career field while going to school for Geophysics.

My favorite sci-fi has been:

Firefly
Star Wars IV, V, VI
Stargate
SG Atlantis

It's hard to pick favorite movies, since I love movies in general, but here are just a few of my faves:

Star Wars IV, V, VI
Dark City
Memento
What's Eating Gilbert Grape
Fifth Element
Tron (both of them)
Resident Evil
Donnie Darko
Frankenthumb
Batthumb
The Godthumb
Thumb Wars
Southland Tales
Ink
Equilibrium
Terminator 2 and Salvation
The Matrix trilogy
The Prestige
Empire of the Sun
Princess Mononoke
What Dreams May Come
Boondock Saints
28 Days later
Way of the Gun
Stealing Harvard
House on Haunted Hill
Jurassic Park
Die hard

I'm not really interested in movie props. I AM however interested in movie clothing. I love anything that's different than what everyone else is doing, and that includes clothing. Movie clothing fits the bill very well. I like things like Mani's coat at the beginning of Brotherhood of the Wolf, ALL of the outfits from Firefly, the Enigma coat from Kingdom Hearts and the Tron clothing.

A couple of my favorite places to get the highest quality movie clothing are:

AbbyShot Clothiers - Movie Clothing | Cosplay Costumes

UD Replicas

I've written an in depth review of the UD Replicas Tron leather motorcycle gear (both men's and women's), which can be found here:

Salutations.

I just recently found this site when I was planning my next outfit for comic con and thought that it was a gold mine of helpful information and ideas.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everybody,
heard about this site through an old internet show called Back Yard FX (ended a few months ago) and I also listened to some of Adam Savage's (mythbusters) speach about his quest to build a replica Dodo bird skeleton and a replica Maltese Falcon (I'm not going to poast a link but a youtube search could link you to it) so I spent two or three months looking around the site to see what I would be interested to do. Also one last thing is that I am young sculptor, model maker and mask maker. I mainly use it as a hobby but I would love to rebuild movie props from some of my favorite films like star wars, back to the future (I live in belfast where the delorian was made) and king kong (I do have a larger selection of movies but they are the only ones on my mind at the moment).
So I hope to poast many more things on this site :)

Hi all

I'm a filmmaker from Miami FL

When I'm not editing or doing graphics work, i try to make time to draw, paint, sculpt, or mess around with resin or latex casting...

Right now I'm in the middle of a scratch build of a Rocketeer X-3 jetpack from rolled poster board, foam board ribbing and skeleton, and a lot of wood putty, bondo and sanding. I'm almost finished with one rocket cylinder, ready to make a mold and make two resin twins. I think the rest of the build will move along pretty quickly for me at that point. I finished a helmet build off an incomplete vacu-formed kit that I'm pretty happy with. Hopefully some pics to come soon

Best,

David

Hey there!
My name is Luke, Better known as 'elro'. Havent been making props/costumes for very long. Im onto my third project at the moment - Thane Krios from Mass effect 2 + Locust SMG for my GF who will be Kasumi Goto from ME2. My girlfriend and I work as a team - She is on fabric, im on props (probably why im here xD).

I took up costuming as another hobby to keep me busy inbetween making music/sounds etc. < Oh, if anyone needs tips on audio production / sound design feel free to ask me!!! :)

My first Cosplay/Costume/Arts and Crafts was the armor of Kaworu Nagisa and Rei Ayanami from the Neon Genesis Series. Kaworu Nagisa Plugsuit by =Storm1822 on deviantART

My second project was Fibreglassed Scorpion and Sub Zero armor, and Kitana's Fan blades from Mortal Kombat series : All armor and the fans can be seen on this pic : The Kontestants by =Storm1822 on deviantART

And now my Third project is a latex mask of Thane Krios, and the Viper Rifle and Locust SMG from the Mass effect Series. Have resized images to be small, and they are only WIP atm

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings fellow prop/film lovers! I stumbled upon this site while searching for "Return to Oz" props, or any information about the film in general. That being said, it's nice to see an active community of people who share similar interests.

Hi all!
I'm Z and I live just north of Seattle Washington. I was just introduced to this website the other day by a friend of mine who just discovered my obsession with making costumes for halloween and conventions and costume contests.

last year I made a Pyramid Head (from Silent Hill) costume, completely from scratch. This year I want to to it and make an Anubis Guard costume. I was a little stumped, so my friend sent me here to seek advice/ help from the many experts on this site.

Hi all!

My name is John. I was in the midst of googling some info on a my first prop mod, a Droopydoos / Hasbro E-11 kit, and the RPF forums came up. I've tried several times over the years but registration has always been closed. I was really excited that I could sign up.

I'm really new to prop building of any kind. I've been building scale models since I was about eight or nine. I'm hoping to translate some of that over to prop building. As far as the scale modeling goes, I'm working on a Trumpter M1132 Engineer Stryker. Personally, I'm a Combat Engineer in the Army whose brigade just converted from heavy armor to the Strykers.

With props, I became a member of the 501st back in 2006. I've done several costumes since then. I'm about to build a Snowtrooper as soon as the armor arrives :) The E-11 is a new venture for me. I'm approaching it as a smaller "scale" - higher detail. I'm really looking forward to learning as much as I can and trying out new projects.

Hey everyone,

My name is Brett. I came across this site after purchasing my UD Replicas TDK suit. I am a die hard Batman fan. The Dark Knight is favorite movie of all time but I also am a huge movie fan. I have a huge collection of movies (DVD & Blu Ray). I love all types of movies including Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and many, many more. I could go on for days about movies so i'll stop there. I'm also a huge hockey fan and bleed orange and black for my Philadelphia Flyers and red for the Phillies. I've wanted to create the ultimate The Dark Knight suit for myself and it is now in the works. I'm awaiting my UD suit and since joining I ordered the most realistic movie quality cape from a member and also a grapple gun from another member. I'm really excited to be a member and see how many people love this type of stuff like I do. I'll add some pics as the suit comes together.

Hi I'm Russ aka Groone

I thought I posted in here when I originally signed up.

I live in Mobile, Alabama USA so if any prop makers in this area I sure would like to get together.

I don't have any skills in anything really prop making worthy but I have a lot of ideas and sketches of things I would like to make. I'm pretty inadequate at bringing ideas to fruition but I try hard.

In my spare time I create chainmaille stuff. I love making chainaille armour and accessories so if you have a costume that uses anything of the sort hit me up.

I'm a larger guy that doesn't fit the build of any costumed super hero or villian so no worries of seeing pictures of me as a fat batman. I am losing the weight though and in doing so have earned a 1st degree blackbelt in Taekwondo. I have 60 more lbs to lose. I make costumes for my very thin and fit 10 year old son.

Okay, that's enough about me.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Joined the forum mostly out of curiosity. There are several props I want to build, mostly stuff like the lesser known robots from SW and games like Fallout. I am an electrical engineer and I love working with my hands.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello Hello,
the name is Erika.
I am from south Florida.
I have always been fascinated by fantasy movie costuming and props ever since I saw Labyrinth and the Never Ending Story.
yes I am a full on child of the 80s.

I finally buckled down and started sewing in the late 90s. About 6 years ago I became a Rennie (ren faire person) mainly because I loved the concept of getting to walk around in costume with other like minded people.
Last week I went to my first Con - DragonCon. I found this site looking for DragonCon pictures of costumes I missed.
I spent the last 6 months working on my costumes for DragonCon, and now that its over I've started planning out the costumes for next year.

I do a LOT of leather work and sewing mostly. I started out doing it just for myself but the requests from friends started coming in.

I am working my way into plastic casting and silicone molding.

ummm I think thats its for now :)
