hey up people, just signed up today so hello from the UK. been looking following some of the threads on here for a month or so. not really built any props yet but have done a few steam punk items, painted up airsoft weapons, built models all the usual. i like messing around with junk and trying to make things more interesting so thought it was about time i took the jump and started looking into making some props from my fave movies and tv shows. This seems like the best place to be with good collective efforts so here i am =oP

Hi guys and gals, I am not new to the rpf, but have zero posted activity on it either. So I figure i should introduce myself.

My name is James, I am a member of many groups/forums (R2Builders, 501st, 405th, soaringhammer etc). I am partnered with an electronics designer and offer some electronic kits. And I really only have one prop that I have built (not 100% completed) and that would be my best accomplishment aside of my family (wife and two beautiful sons).

Here is my prop, R2-D2, with future head R3-D2, and my first R2's head.

Names Jose and have been lurking here for year secretly admiring everyone's work. I collect mainly superhero props from both comics and film. I collect DC, Marvel, and GI Joe.

Hello everybody. I just got re interested in prop and replica making and in my pursuit of knowledge to make my own Captain America shield I came upon this site and was amazed at how helpful everyone was so I'm hopeful I can learn something here. I don't have much in the way of skills right now, but I'm a quick learner and full of ambition to make some awesome things in the future.
On a personal note I'm a recent college graduate, recently married, and also a recent cancer survivor so I'm out to make the rest of my life count. Looking forward to making some friends and learning all that I can. - Brandt

Hi! i am Gordon from Scotland and i am a def newbie when it comes to building anything, just ask the wife! Been following a few threads on here and am just blown away by what some people can achieve from scratch. My main interest at the moment is Escape from New York but i really like seeing Star Wars armours (esp Boba Fett!) but really, anything fantasy or sci-fi related will catch my eye. I hope to post in the future....so keep building!!

Hey, ran across the site looking for hellboy/tron/aliens stuff and found some awesome ideas and great projects people have done. I am hoping to make a scale lighted MCP sometime in the future. Otherwise will just be day dreaming as I look at other peoples work.

I am a full on NooB to all this but the one thing i think i have to my favour is i am a mechanical engineer and love to build things.

I will be working on my first ever pap project and its a Storm Trooper Helmet no less

Morning all!
Thought I'd take a sec to introduce myself.
I had actually registere some time ago but hadnt really had much going on in the way of props - since that time i built my first prop lightsaber and started a second one (sadly apartment living limits your ability to REALLY do waht youde like in some cases ) Ill have pics up soon-ish.

The catalyst for posting NOW is because of a really random meeting of another RPF member at Disneyland this evening I happened to look over and thers this gent wearing an RPF t-shirt - we made some small talk and here we are! Im hoping to get some great feedback on project ill be starting as soon as i settle into my new place in CA.

Hope to hear, learn, speak, joke, and help you all soon!

Greetings all!

Can't believe it has taken me so long to register here...it's a great place, should have done so years ago.

Stopped in today to check out some cool things a friend of mine from Facebook is working on, and remembered how cool it is here.

I'm not currently working on anything right now because I just purchased a new house and moved my family, so my new shop is not yet built, but I will be posting pics and stuff of my things from the past few years. I did finish a bunch of Fallout props just before the move a few months ago. They are all in storage right now LOL but once the new shop is finished, I'll be diggin them out

I'm also putting the finishing touches on my latest novel, once that is off to the publisher, I will have some FREE TIME yay! thumbsup

Hi, I am Christoph. I am a former Star Trek fan (okay. You got me. Still am. Let's say there are few other things that got interesting too for me. ;-)) and dig the look of the TNG Tricorders. It once started with a Mark VII Tricorder from Playmates. Later I found an advertisement in a toy collectors magzine. It showed a resin model of a First Contact Tricorder. I knew I wanted to have. So I saved the money and went to the store.
When I found out that it was "only" a solid body without electronics I was very dissapointed.
A few years later I searched for a working tricorder and somehow it all led me to the ASAP Prop forum and I stumbled over gmros, who sold resin body that were hollow AND allowed to put electronics into it.
So I was sooo happy to find "the real thing" and gmros enabled me to make my dream come true. Thanks again for your help.
In a few weeks I will be glad to post a photo of my mark x. I want to make repairs on it, as was not very crafted at that point of time.

Hi there!
I came across this sight after deciding I was going to build myself a custom sonic screwdriver, and finding the contest about the same that was held here last year. I found a lot of inspiration in that thread, and have since finished was I think will be the first of several sonic screwdrivers.
