Hi Jamie,
Welcome, I love the Vans! R2 is well done to say the least. Do you have a build blog for him?

Hi I'm Devon Kirchoff, student at EMU and living at home :( I haven't done much prop building, just a couple of light sabers casted and plumbing parts, but mostly console modding and computers. I have only built one case (Nazi death machine replica) but not a movie prop so...

Hello Everyone,
Glad to have found this site! I'm looking to buy a replica green "fortress builder" crystal from the original Superman movie. Hope you kind folks can point me in the right direction!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Howdy! I joined almost a year ago, but mostly been lurking. I never got around to introducing myself. I'm Tom, and I live in Cedar Hill, Texas. Been a member of the BOTB and LOH for a few years, mostly concentrating on making Bat-stuff like this:

I've also done some non Bat-stuff, too:

I love to sculpt, and making cowls and other related items has given me a great outlet for that. Still have a lot to learn, and this looks like a good place for that. Hopefully I can contribute something now and then.

thanks for having me

Thank you for having me. My name is Charlaine I’m from Rhode Island USA. I’m retired Us Army at the age of 34 thanks to injuries suffered while serving in Iraq myself. I’m a huge fan of ST- NG, Battlestar Galactica Tos, the Watchers, Dr. Who, being Human, Gi-Joe, Halo, Bioshock, Gears of war, and a few other games. I’m looking to start making props from my favorite shows and games for myself and my twin brother.
I found the Rpf through google. While searching for plans to make the Visor from St-ng. for my brother who's a fan of Laforge’s character and the visor he wore.
I'm also big into fly fishing and fly tying as well as magic.

Thanks for letting me join the cite. The name's Dan and although I haven't yet collected many props or even shopped for that matter, this site so far has made a big spark in my interest. I first came to know of this cite when looking at models of the Blade Runner Blaster and got hooked. After about a few months of viewing the site I decided to register

Hello all. Been lurking for a few years, and when registrations opened up I decided to join up. Heard about this site from some RPF members, told me to check it out a few years ago and been lurking ever since. My favorites are Star Wars, Babylon 5, Blade Runner, Aliens, well pretty much any sci-fi. Thank you to everyone who contributes to this great community, and I hope to add to it myself.

Hello, My name is Bridget, I'm from Wisconsin. I stumbled across your site while looking for Pee wee Herman bikes on the Internet. After 24 years of wanting one and 1 year of trying to buy one, many posters have inspired me to build one with the help of a local shop. I also want to make a life size chairy, that will be my project when the bike is done. Thank you for having a great site with many great people to help!

Hello,
I've been making little props for years, but never anything that I would be able to brag about. I joined with the hopes of stepping my game up a bit. I'll probably be lurking more than anything else, but if I do something noteworthy I'll be sure to post.

Hi everyone signed up yesterday and am completely blown away by how talented everyone here is, I am putting the finishing touches on my stormtrooper armour and already looking for the next project but for now the E-11 blaster is causing me a bit of grief, as in I don't know where I can get the rubber Grebblies for the barrel any help would be greatly apreciated.
Many Thanks !

Well, I know it's a bit late to introduce myself, as I've been trolling around here posting the occasional "looks great!" comment, but I figured it's almost summer time and I've got a couple props on my to-do list so figured a proper introduction is in order before a random string of threads bursts open.

So howdy!

Have been building and designing props and such as long as I can remember. A few years back stumbled upon Volpin's blog and had my mind blown. Since then I've made it my goal to one day be almost that good. So here's to learning and getting better!

Thanks and look forward to being part of this group!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all. I just joined a few minutes ago. I have come across the forum a lot the past few days in my search for some Firefly replicas and thought I would join up.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all,

I just found my way here! Huzzah! I love costuming, and attention to details. My day-to-day job is mostly in front of a computer but I love working with my hands when I get the time. I've had some experience in a bronze casting foundry, worked with a theatrical mask maker, done some life-casting, I love Smooth-on products, and life-casting is fun stuff!

I've made a pretty solid Catwoman costume, and a Molitov Cocktease, among some others.

I want to get into more complicated props and builds, and learn more about what other building processes are out there!

Thanks!
Sarah

I think all of you do amazing things.

I make replicas, though in a different light.

I make working replicas of old radio batteries. My finished items look like the originals, but inside are holders for AA, C, D or 9 volt batteries.

So, I guess you could say I could easily make the batteries for Cuba Gooding's handmade radio used in "Men of Honor" :lol

I could post a few pics if anyone is interested.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone.

Found the site thru the Adam Savage TED talk. I have always been interested in making props and such but never got into it since I did not have the time. Now I am house poor and need something to fill my time so now is the time to learn.

What I am looking for is how to sculpt, cast and paint and this seems like the place to be.
