hey!

found this forum through one of my cosplaying friends. such a big base of knowledge and help, so i decided to register here as well.
i'm just a poor student (one year more!) from poland, long-time artist, drawer, fanartist, who had discovered the art of cosplay like 4 years ago (i regret it was so late).
charmed by the beautiful costumes i tried to make one myself, without any knowledge about it all. failed hard and my first costume has never been finished, just recycled for fabric ;p the second one came a bit later, but when i think of it now, it was awfully made and looking.
after saving some money, i decided to throw a bigger budget for the third costume. i just missed the good 'ol crafting thing after watching tons of tutorials. wish i could make more costumes now, but lack of job and money is an obstacle hard to overcome ;__;

and for the sole love for cosplay craft i want to learn more and become better at it (so i won't hate every part of my newly made costume again ;p)

so far, my last and third costume ever made - inquisitor from dragon age

Hiya

Not normally a forum user but I've been working on a prop for a while now and my friend convinced me to share it on here. There are some amazing props and costumes on this site so I hope it doesn't disappoint. I really love seeing cosplay projects but this is the first time I've tried making anything myself.
Looking forward to learning from everyone's amazing talent.

Hello all!

I've long been a fan of Star Wars and Aliens. Currently I am working on a USCM Dropship Pilot costume, and my search for knowledge on converting an SPH 4 helmet has lead me to the RPF. Looking forward to learning from the members here, and getting to see some awesome builds!

Hey all, new to prop making but absolutely love you guys' attention to detail and sheer skill/experience, it's staggering! :eek

I do 3D CAD/printing, I've done Luke Skywalkers return of the Jedi lightsaber (thingiverse link) but outside of that not much prop stuff, hope to do more with actual costumes

Hi everyone. I've been cosplaying for a little over a year now, and I'm trying to make a conscious effort to be active on the RPF. Some of you may know me over on the 405th. Lately I've been neck deep in medieval stuff. Most recently my Warden armor from For Honor, inspired partially by Frank Ippolito's work.

Hello all
my name is Paul Marsh and I am a movie prop maker. I have worked on over 40 movies and more recently been involved in the Star Wars movies.
nice to be here.

Hi all. My names Jennifer and I live in Florida. I found this forum in searching for info/questions about photographing miniature scenes. While it's not my full time job, I'm a miniature diorama photographer. I build mostly HO scale scenes and transform them through my camera lens. As of late I've been working on a Pokemon series, beginning with repainting 2 cm tall figures then creating environments for them. I hope to soon do something with Star Wars Micro Machine figures and to continue to explore more with Pose Skeletons. I just filled out a bunch of info on my about section here and uploaded some images so you can learn more there! Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Hi guys. I'm new to RPF. What a fantastic site! I am a movie fanatic to the core! I am particularly a fan of action movies/actors of the 1980s, and I love the Terminator franchise, namely T2! Please check out my props I have built, including my current project, the T1000's stolen LAPD squad car!

Hey all,

I was a member on the old board over a decade ago (2003-ish) when I was a young lad. Took time off from building lightsabers and blasters to start a family. I recently acquired a 3d printer and the itch has come back. I always loved this group and hope to contribute.

My current project is and R2 build which I hope to show off in the next few months.

Hi guys,

Well I'm coming here from the LPF (Laser Pointer Forum) specifically to git info to help with a project.

I purchased a Wand Phaser with the intent of putting a 7 Watt NUBM06 (look up in youtube for an idea of the power) diode in it to make a "real functioning phaser".

Just one problem... I can't figure out how to get it apart. So I am here, hoping one of you guys can help point me in the right direction.

New again here. Forgot my email and info for my old account. I was a premium member known as TakuFuji. Back again to buy some cool stuff.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and decided to join up after realizing what a treasure trove of resources the forums could be. Have a few new cosplays I am planning to work on for the next few months and I'm pretty new to the craft.

Hi, everyone.

I'm Marcelo, from Brazil. I've been living in Japan for several years now (a lot of cool stuff here!). I got married and have a kid.
I love movies, especially Back to the Future, Terminator, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Rocky, Rambo, Superman (Reeve), Batman (Burton and Nolan)...
Mostly 80s stuff, as you can see. I also collect 7" and 12" figures, a few prop replicas and costumes.

I'm not a professional prop maker but I truly appreciate their work. Thanks to your advice, I've been able to add a little more movie accuracy to my collectibles.
I've been learning a lot with members from this forum. So I created an account so I can participate more actively.

Thank you all.

Bon jour!

Beck with Creole Props here. Nice forum, should make for some interesting reading. First things first, I'm a prop builder in South Louisiana. I a classically trained Ebiniste, aka furniture builder and started as an apprentice at 14 years old during which time I was not allowed to use power tools - only hand tools. Anywho, I specialize in historic / period props. My shop does a little bit of everything, wood, milling, smithing, forging etc. but we are fairly new to movie prop making. My first show as a builder was Underground on WGN and we've since done TV, music video and corporate props. We've had lots of fun doing it and it's been a lot of fun.

Like most of us probably did, I grew up building replica model kits. I'm not one for playing dress-up nor am I much of a comic book fan. I tend to stay out of those builds but I do still appreciate the skill and talent involved.

I recently began dabbling with molding and casting so I hope to find some good info on that here. I'd like to start casting the knives and weapons we make. I have some pictures on my facebook page, if you care to look. www.facebook.com/creoleprops

Thanks for having me, regards.

Beck
