Hello everyone! It has been almost ten years since I have been active on this forum. My past work includes and Episode III Kenobi for myself, an Episode III Anakin for a friend, several historical reproductions, and many costumes for my kids. I am currently beginning work on a Rogue One Shore Trooper. This is my first foray into armor and look forward to the process!

Hi all, just registered after reading or lurking for a year or so, interested in prop and costume replicas as well as model and statue building. Nice to be here!

Hey all,

I have been browsing various threads over the years, always blown away at some of the creative power that reside within these forums. Truly inspired by so many of you. I decided to take the plunge and start trying my hand at prop and costume making. If anyone has any tips or tricks for beginners that they'd be willing to share I'm all ears! Glad to finally be a part of the community ! :)

Hello everyone,

I work mostly on fabric-based costume design and small prop work as a hobby. Every time I've needed to find references or build ideas for nearly any prop, I've found inspiration and help from these forums -- and so it's probably far past time for me to have an account here. In terms of fabrication, I weave some kinds of fabric from scratch, and draft a lot of my own sewing patterns. I'm pretty good at finding resources and patterns, and I love to help creative people.

Sadly a full-time job and bills keep me from running too wild with my ideas, but I'm slowly getting to the stage where I can throw more money into my projects. My next project is attempting to make the Morph Gun from the Jak and Daxter game series.

Nice to meet you all!

Hello everyone! I've been lurking on the forums for a a year or so and had visited a fe times before that. I'm currently making a ANH Han Solo ensemble for me and a TFA Rey for my daughter. My whole family is into Star Wars and Disney Cosplay. We also like using pieces of costumes as regular street clothes as well. That is a main theme of what we want to do.

I have just started sewing and have done basic leather work (the most I've done is add a rivet.) Looking forward to sharing work and seeing more amazing work on the site.

hello! im emerald.

im 17 years old, and im a HUGE fan of the game "destiny" and i want to get into cosplaying for it at conventions. right now, i dont have a job, or a lot of money, so once i get those, i will probably commission some stuff from this website.

Hello my name is Chris I am from northern Indiana, I am an engineering by trade, DIYer, maker, father, cospalyer, nerd, gamer, prop maker..looking to hone my skills, be inspired and meet some amazing people.

Greetings,
I am from the seattle area and been a convention goer since 1998. I am here looking for help with armor building and to help get over my anxiety of getting into it. I am part of both a star wars larp (in the Puget Sound area), Saber guild and Rebel Legion. I am a very active Jedi Knight. :D I have trouble finding a job due to disability and social anxiety, so I don't have much money. I made my own costumes, props, and I recently build my lightsaber, including the metal hilt and leather design and naigon was nice enough to help update to newer tech.

I am looking for info on papercrafting files, using them on foam like L200 then using a smooth on mixture to make armor? I am looking for something that can take some hits from a polycarbonate heavy grade saber blade. Any help is appreciated. Since this is a intro board, message me if you have any ideas please. :)

Thank you to this awesome community.

Howdy,
I've been browsing here for awhile and decided to make an account to ask to be pointed in the right direction.

I tried and failed with already pre cut templates of a Mando armor set from various websites. So I went back to the dented helmet and commissioned someone to finish me out a new set to wear for a Jango Fett cosplay. I am enormously challenged in craft making

I am pretty much asking for the same type of help for a Gears of War cog armor cosplay. If someone can point me in the right direction for someone to commission or people who make good quality parts for a GoW CoG cosplay I would be very appreciative.

Thanks!

Hello everyone. My name is Trevor, and I'm from Boise Idaho. I discovered this site from being mentioned on Tested so many times.

Currently I'm doing a budget 2012 Dredd costume for Halloween. This place has been an awesome resource, and I'll be posting a build thread soon in the Dredd forum.

On top of that I've picked up a few things from other members that I'm going to be working on for Christmas presents to give to family members.
I've got a Boba Fett helmet, an ASM2 mask, and an Iron Giant screw kit that I'll be working on.
Will probably post progress of those as well when they come in, and I get to start working on them.

Hi all - decided to take a break from Facebook RPF, so have finally joined the Forums after many years as just a reader. Looking forward to sharing ideas with you all!

Hi there,

Good Evening,

My name is Patrick and I am an EVA foam user. I'm from Surprise, AZ. I was looking for ideas on how to make an Iron Man suit. I stumbled on some files posted here by JFcustom and after a week and a half, I am willing to admit, I have a problem. I am addicted and believe I may need to seek help. I am about half way through my Iron Man suit. I lived for 15 years just north of Area 51 in Nevada and so I am twisting the design into what I believe Howard Stark would have designed, built and tested at the Groom Dry Lake AFB. I would love to post some pics and get some constructive criticism.

Hi all,
I've been lurking and carefully studying the Rey threads here to work on my Resistance Rey costume (pic below). So much good information! I originally was just going to make a not-screen-accurate vest, but then the project spiraled out of control and now I hope to submit to Rebel Legion as soon as I tweak a couple more things...
Joining now because I had so much fun making Rey that I'm going to go for a Jyn Erso costume too, so I thought I'd join up and play along in the thread. Thanks to so many creative people for sharing their expertise and wonderful creations here!

Hey everyone, I am new to this sort of thing and by no means a professional. I actually found this site over a year ago looking for MOS fabric. I came across Leslee of at Youngnights and picked up some of his. The most amazing thing I've ever seen. Since then I have been just floating around looking at other people's work. I must say you all are a talented group of individuals. A few of you have heard from me looking for advice threw messages. I'm actually just making a costume for myself but plan on playing more once I finish what I'm working on. Thanks to all that have helped and I will post again soon I hope. This is also my first time using a blog so please if I am ever doing something wrong just let me know and I will try to correct myself. Thanks David

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all,

First time noob here, I have been slowly getting into cosplay above and beyond Halloween...so this year I decided to take the plunge and assemble a costume for Halloween (as it is just a few weeks away) and also for the next local con. So this year I decided to go as the War Doctor. :cool And my wife as River Song.

I look forward to learning a lot!

John
