Hello everyone, I'm new in these parts, but I'm starting to get my feet wet. I'm looking to build a Captain America costume. There're a lot of options so I'm still weighing them... we'll see how it works out.

Hey everyone, I'm new here, I'm just getting into actual prop making although I've been thinking about and wanting to attempt it for years.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also very easy to get along with so feel free to chat

Hey everyone!

I'm a cosplayer based in South Australia with a love of all things movie / gaming related :) I make most of my own costumes and props but love throwing together some to get costumes out fast sometimes. I joined the RPF as I'm wanting to increase my skills and get my work more screen accurate :)

I also have a 67 Chevy Impala I'm slowly restoring (yes a 4 door pillarless hard top! - Supernatural fan here lol)

Looking forward to utilising the amazing resource that the RPF forum is, and hopefully can help out other members sometimes too :)

Hello all!
I am a 46 year old meat cutter. My wife and I are hardcore Halloween junkies! love all the homemade props and how to's. I want to upload some pics from our collection soon.

Hey

So never really figured I would be on here for any real reason until I hit a pretty hard roadblock with a project. Actually couldn't even remember the name of the site but remembered that Adam Savage talked about it in a few youtube videos so that is how I was led to here.

As far as things that I make well that would be limited to pretty much metal wall hangings though I did build a quick foundry just last sunday that will be getting a test run as soon as I actually buy myself a crucible for melting brass.

Hello. As a long time SFX and props fan I thought it might be an interesting idea to become a member of this forum in order to learn things and sometimes share some of my knowledge with others. I hope that I'll be seeing all of you really soon, so bye for now.

Hi everyone,
My name is Bob. I'm a huge fan of James Bond,Star Trek and Star Wars. I found this site by googling stuff for a Star Trek costume.I hope to learn somethings here.Make some friends and maybe some purchases

Hello All,

new guy here. I've searched your forum several times when looking at costume and prop ideas. I love all sorts of movies and have props or other stuff from several including Captain America, Star Wars, and several westerns.

I will admit I am not very creative when trying to do new costumes. i don't know how you guys sew, mold, and make so many awesome costumes! i'm looking forward to learning more form you all!

Hello, all! Aspiring ANH Vader from Central Florida. Great resource and community here at RPF thus far! Thanks in advance for opinions and guidance.

Heya folks!

My name is Gaius (No seriously) and I'm a 24 year old hard surface 3d model maker living in Adelaide (That's in Australia.) Typically I just build junk in 3d if I love it but I figure its about damn time I put together something real. Firstly I'm a giant stargate nerd, though I do love BSG, star wars/trek, anything and everything really. I've spent two years as a builders apprentice so at least building isn't something I'm new to. I can't wait to start my first thread and get to know some of you folks.

Hello all. My name is Bob, I am not an artist in any way. I love all the talented props and replicas of several genres of movies, shows and comics. I'm looking for something in particular and not sure which category to post it in. The silver tipped whip used to punish Lucian in the Underworld: Rise of the Lycans movie. Thanks for reading, any input would be awesome.

Hi gang, I'm Jim from Detroit, Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year!!! Always try to have fun with it! Most everyone tells me I'm a dead ringer for the Dude(The Big Lebowski), and that's how I found this thread to begin with!!! Here's a few pics of me as the Dude and Captain Jack Sparrow image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg...

Hi guys,

I've been a member for some tiime, but it is not until now that I came here to introduce myself. Not that I had anything against introductions, not at all. It's just that I haven't been building anything for some time now, so there is literally nothing that I can show you guys.

Still, my name is Chris, I have been building models of old ships, like HMS Victory, and such....plastic, but still, they were builds.
Also, I came here now because I'm searching for a certain thing, an identification of a movie prop. Hope I'll find some answers.

Also, I have a huge respect for all of you guys and girls builders. Cheers !

Hey there,
my name is Sara Parker. American by Heart, German by Family ;)
I grew up wearing costumes for our medieval costumes during our Peter-und-Paul-Festival, no that's serious business, not a Ren-Faire ;)

Since you don't have much money as a teenager and we wanted new costumes, we decided to make our own.
And that's how I started sewing. Which I kept doing while studying, because what do you do when you study, anything else but study.
I played and coached Softball and made costumes.

Fast forward. I started working in the US around 2012 and randomly saw a poster in Ohio for Dragoncon in Atlanta.
Best decision ever. I had like a week to make my Ygritte costume and the rest is history.

Sadly we had to leave the US and are now back in Germany, but I'm still making costumes.
I always wanted to sign up here as I have spent hours of reading threads on several costumes already.

Lately I made a Ygritte S4, Lagertha S3, Dark Rey,.. and am currently working on Doctor Strange (still not sure if genderbender or not), and a couple of other costumes...
All pants :facepalm
I really want to make some dresses :lol

Thanks for having me
Sara

Kia Ora everyone from New Zealand :)

I am an amateur prop maker cosplayer and photographer.

I like everything related to video games but am also a huge fan of science fiction fantasy and all its sub genres in general I am also a "history buff" with my favorite periods being the middle ages and modern history.

I am currently living in Wellington New Zealand and outside of making stuff dressing up and shooting stuff I work for an Airline as Cabin Crew !

I usually cosplay with my lovely wife Sarah and we both share an Instagram and Facebook page for all things cosplay related.

I finally decided to join the RPF family after a long period of browsing through these forums and looking at peoples amazing work !

New registrant, but I've read the forums for years. I'm in my mid-40s, single dad, costume and Star Wars nerd. I make a lot of props for friends and also build custom knives and guns as a day job. The wealth of knowledge here has proved invaluable in many of my builds and I'm happy to be a part of the community!

Hi,
Just found this site today looking for Shoretrooper helmet and armor. Cool site!! I am a Star Wars nerd of 39 years and really looking forward to Rogue One and seeing all the incredible work people have on here!
God Bless!!

Hello everyone,

I have long been keen on costume and prop building but my 5 year old daughter's obsession with dressing up as superheroes has lead me to this forum where I will be asking for lots of help while putting together matching costumes for us both. Nothing to show yet but will post when I have something underway. First projects are ANH Stormtroopers and TDK Batmen.

Thanks!
