Hello everyone my name is Frank I'm 47 I live in Chino Hills California. I build costumes for my kids and as a hobby and I enjoy every minute of it , although my wife would disagree..

Hey! New member here. I am looking for a MSA Chemox mask similar to the one used in My Bloody Valentine 81. Anyone know where I can get a hold of one?

Hello everyone,

I stumbled into making cosplay for other people and this forum has been nothing, but helpful. I have learned a ton of skills, learned a lot of materials, and enjoyed this forum thoroughly as a lurker. I thought it was time I actually got an account here.

Just discovered this site from a friend on facebook. I recently got into customing last year. you can see me at www.facebook.com/statuesil. I`m trying to get my daughter started into this and i think she has desided on LOKI. I started last year as a live statue of a green army guy, again you`ll have to go to my facebook page to see how awesome it is. this year i added war machine and its just as cool. Looking forward to get alot use out of this site and share my knowledge with everyone. again thanks in advance.

Hi all, I've been sewing costumes, mostly historical with a few fantasy or historical movie repros (LotR and GoT) for many years. But recently my teen and tween age boys have gotten me more into the sort of cosplaying they're into - Doctor Who, Portal, etc. So I've been trying to learn more about the non-fabric elements of cosplay like eva foam and worbla.

You can see some of my stuff here: http://costumerscloset.blogspot.com/

You all are so inspirational!

Good afternoon,

I've been on here for a while, but didn't remember if I've introduced myself yet.

I'm a college student in the USA who is very interested in cosplaying. My wallet limits the vast majority of my ability to do so, but I have discovered that I can do plenty with cereal box cardboard, such as this Bucky Barnes. I look forward to doing more, and am very thankful to have been welcomed into this community!

Hello all,
I've a background in jewellery and precious metalwork, and a long history of modelling for war-games. Recently I've become interested in making myself a series of original prop pistols to satisfy my inner ten year old. I'm about a year into playing around with these things, and discovered this site via a bunch of design research. It seemed like an ideal place to extend my research, and though my methods are probably somewhat specific to be completely helpful to you guys, as I record the ongoing project hopefully some of you will find something of use. Don't expect anything too soon though, it's going to be a slow one. I also recognize that this is primarily a site interested in replicas, and that's not what I'm doing, but again I hope to be able to document my process in a way that will be informative enough for people to put the techniques to use in their own projects - hopefully that will be sufficient to justify my stay in your community.
Here's a couple of teasers of the sort of stuff I've been up to so far - apologies, but it's not well documented. Hope to put together a detailed post of the new work as it happens.
Cheers

Hey!

I'm Darryl, 29, from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.

I'm looking to improve my cosplay-making skills as I've been scammed one too many times by various folks online. I've long understood this place to be a great reference for newbies and veterans alike, so I'm hoping to learn a lot!

My biggest goal is learning to work with latex and fiberglass, the precautions and environments to work in, and the pitfalls to try to avoid.

Hello! My name is Pyrogirl. I'm currently gathering reference for my Rey costume, so the giant thread you guys have is helping me out a lot. Hope to show off the costume when its done.

I am Jere from finland, who joined to therpf inorder to lurk and see all kind of builds and get some nice building tips fro props and other stuff, so far i have used eva foam, as my main build material, and been learning to use my 3d printer inorder to make some parts and other small thingys.

Have nice day all :3

Hi everyone!

I'm 24 and from Germany. My main hobby is cosplay but also games and drawing.

At the end of last year I stumbled over the huge Rey (The Force Awakens) build thread which helped me alot in creating my Rey costume.

The costume is done and I will post some pictures soon.

Have a nice day. :D

Hello all,

Finally found my way here. Or should I say: “Confronted myself with the appalling task of registering after lurking around for several years.”

Trained in bludgeoning things with a hammer all day long, as well as wielding plasma guns- er... I mean cutters, welders and other high-tech gadgetry of the sorts – I thought it'd be a great idea to indulge myself in a more relaxing occupation during my free time: costuming and prop-making.

Turns out it's highly addicting and proven to turn more than just one person's world upside down: the hobby becomes the profession and the profession becomes the hobby. An aspiring future.

*Looks over at the sewing machine*

Perhaps one day... Maybe... During the next century?
This is going to be one long journey.

Best regards,
Robin

Hi, I'm Sean. I've been
Interestedin building a storm trooper armor (from scratch) ever since I learned of vacuum forming years ago. I'm finally starting by building my pieces with pepakura. I'm going to then make wood molds and then vacuum form. I've decided to do the first order trooper, since it will be more "in" for my kids and friends to appreciate it. I'd love any specs on trooper armor of any one could share. I'll probably buy an anovos helmet as that will help solidify my suit of its less than perfect. Thanks to everyone who shares their good idea s.
