Hello all. New to this forum but been building models and making things in general for decades. I just retired and my wife and I are moving to Arizona so we can get some land. Then I can build the workshops I need to really start having fun. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Hey, guys and gals. My name is Chris and I've been lurking for years and years here. I've done a few costume builds, but nothing like the stuff you guys do. I'm excited to really get going on some challenging stuff, though. Some of my past works have been a Wall-E halloween costume and a Groot (GOTG) costume and other little things like Turd Ferguson from SNL. Excited to get some feedback from everyone! Keep up the great work!

Oops, just realized that when I joined here over a year ago I never did one of these.

Anyway, done some reenacting, some airsoft, some vehicle restoration (primarily military but looking to snag an old fire engine to try my hand at shiny things). Gotten reference stuff for the oddest bits and peices here over the years so I decided to finally join maybe a year and half ago.

Hello Everyone!

Long LONG time lurker. First time poster. I cannot recall when I found this site. I have been back here many times from the comfort of a bus ride home from work checking out all the amazing work being done here.
I love the idea of prop and costume replicas and design. I myself have become accompished at starting but never finnishing any of my work. I sculp in oil based clay (NSP medium and new foray into NSP Hard). and have done my foar shar of 50 percent compleated pepakura projects.

I hope to share my progress with you all and see more amazing things from some of the most talented people around.

Here is a quick example of my laziness. Decided I wanted to sculpt. Bought some clay (not the good NSP stuf i now love) and made as best a 3d interpritation of Archer as I could muster. while watching TNG on netflix of course.

Hello all,
I am originally from Hawaii but I am now living with my wife and two sons in Seattle, Washington. I have always been interested in scale modeling with interests in militaryhistory, sci-fi, and computer gaming. From a very young age I have worked on numerous projects using all kindsof different techniques. But the oneinterest I have been wanting to expand upon, Prop and costume making, hasalways seemed to be out of reach because of my lack of knowledge. I haverecently discovered Pepakura and while doing research on the internet I found “theRPF”. What a wealth of knowledge. Now I feel like there is no limit to myproject possibilities. Thank you so muchfor accepting me into your community.

Hi everybody! I'm from Finland. Long time movie toy collector . A graphic designer by education. We've had an advertising agency with my wife since 1999. Doing mostly print, but also web, TV etc... I'm also an eager hobby musician and have a passion for vintage guitars.

I have an interest for movie props too, mostly interested in Star Wars and James Bond. Have been building stuff always, but my material skills are limited to what graphic designers mostly use, meaning paper, cardboard, Kapa board.

I've joined this community to learn more and to get inspiration. I found this community through listening to the guys from Tested. It's great to see all these projects, and it's fascinating how much knowledge people here seem to have about the most detailed projects and props.

And one more thing: you guys make guys like me look totally normal : )

I'll post a few pictures.

(That R2-D2 is a weekend build. My building projects have been mostly inspired by toys and have not tried to resemble realistic props. I also have no skills (yet) to cast and build stuff out of metal etc. The spontaneous one evening projects have been quite fun for me so far. But I want to learn more and take on some more challenging project too.

Hi!

Hadn't heard about this community until just recently when my wife pointed me this way. I'm a bit late to learning about Pepacura in general, and for the most part, I've left the craftiness in the family to her. We attend several conventions along the south-east, mostly in the anime fandom. She's a HUGE star wars fan, and I'm right there with her and loving it!

What drew me here was a friend using pepacura to make an armorset from the Monster Hunter franchise, and another video getting me thinking: I've got a lot of good, talented local friends to help me learn, and an idea I would love to try out... Soo, I'm going to try my hand at making, between now and Dragoncon 2015, a Great Jaggi suit. Because what fun do Monster Hunters have without at least one Monster to chase around?

Other, smaller, projects I intend to do are more along the lines of Digimon models to decorate our shelves. Wish me luck!

Hello, my name is Ryan but I usually go by T'chelak, long time fan of the Star Wars universe and I'd finally like to get round to crafting my fandom!

Yo guys happy to be here.
Didn't really know that rpf had closed registration or something or something like that, but I just wanted to make some cool prop friends and get to know this place better. I was always looking for a nice forum page for props and till now decided to join.
So thanks

Hello everyone, my name is Jake. I've always been fascinated with the film industry and am currently going to college in Arizona working on an arts degree. Joined because I wanna start building prop replicas and hopefully eventually turn it into a career and be able to work on the set of a major motion picture. Anyway thanks for your time!

Hello all!

I've been lurking about, just starting to get a grasp on costuming and props as I prepare a quickie take on a SHIELD agent for Wizard World in Philly this May. Of course as I was about to start up for real, I broke my right elbow (and I'm right handed), so I'm not too optimistic for a big job. After surgery 4 weeks ago to put the bone back together, I'm just starting to get some use of my right hand again, but I'm still absorbing as much knowledge as I can.

At the moment I'm hacking my way through multiple Nerf guns to make up a custom (and way overpowered) rifle I can use for SHIELD and then eventually for my second costume, which will be my own version of early 90s era Forge from X-Men & X-Factor. I've seen lots of great ideas here to help me flesh that one out for later, that's for sure.

Those are my goals for now. We'll see how it goes!

Greetings,

I've done a few pepakura models. Been doing pepakura on and off since about 2000-ish. Made a nice VF-1S, it met an untimely demise and is no longer with us. I'm back into it, for making props and costumes for my 3 year old daughter. Currently working on a pint-sized Iron Man helm. I know, don't start with the helm... I'm looking for the simplest Iron Man helm for 2mm foam, any suggestions? 2mm is all Daddy can afford right now. I may switch gears to the gloves and the ARC reactor, I'm kind of handy with electronics.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan. Daddy is going to be building a Boba Fett Helm here soon.

I remember when Halo was announced. It was to be for PC and Xbox. Then PC was dropped. I'm still bitter. I kept up with Halo on PC, I went PS3, so i'm not up on Halo past Halo 2. I still like the Master Chief. Great costumes out there.

I may be making a Magneto Helm soon to, Daughter Iron Man needs a villan ;-)

Peace

Hi everyone,

I'm from the UK and have been following you guys on Facebook for a while now. I've been interested in prop making and costume design for a while now, but never got into it properly or dedicated the time. Hopefully now that'll all change :)

Hello Everyone,

My name is Josh and I just started working on prop development. I have been working on a Boba Fett prop for the past 5 months and I am getting ever so close to finishing. I hope to start working on a Star Wars themed basement, Han Solo in Carbonate and a Thermal Detonator very soon.

Wish me luck!

I have been to 2 conventions.

Here is me at the Indiana ComiCon a few weeks ago - https://onedrive.live.com/redir?res...57&authkey=!AE-C32fGvKKzfZE&ithint=folder,JPG

Hey folks im Jesse Meyhoefer from germany .
Im 17 years old and i joined the forum to find inspiration for my first real prop project .
My dad has a little shop in the basement and we have a lot of wood/scrap metal .
im pretty good with wood ( but i want to get some experience with metal) and now im looking to give an old nerv gun of mine a few metal parts and engrave something in them .(and maybe a wooden grip)
I found the forum through Adam Savage when he talked about it on a podcast (tested:the adam savage project)
The Nerf gun is just something to get some experience (best case : i have something cool on my wall/worst case : i put the gun back in the basement:D)
Im looking forward to be more active here and for your cool ideas (that i might recklessly steal (just kidding) ) have a good one

Hello there! I'm a new member as far as 10 minutes ago. I was introduced to Sci-Fi conventions 13 years ago. I of course soon after, got into costume making. Star Wars is at the top of our list as well as Star Trek. We are venturing out to other genres. I am here to learn so much more about the costume world :) And props!
