Hi everyone! My name's Saer, I'm from Germany and I enjoy cosplaying a lot. I'm hoping to learn lots of new stuff and follow awesome costume projects here. I'm currently an intern at a Mascot Costume company, but I'm also working on a couple of cosplays during that (Skyrim, Alice:Madness Returns and an original character). I love trying out a big variety of techniques, such as sculpting, casting, foam, laser cutting or 3D printing. I've mostly made animal related cosplays until now, but I want to expand a bit with that. I also enjoy drawing a lot, digitally as well as traditionally.

Hey, folks!

My name is Joshua, and I am pretty new to crafting costumes, but I am eager to learn. I attended Milwaukee's "Fantasticon" this weekend, and the Cosplay Panelists directed me here! I am looking forward to learning for you all and trying out new techniques.

I have been working on Superman from Man of Steel (I'm a huge Superman fan, and the new suit is awesome, in my humble opinion).
I've started with a fairly simple costume-- no texture on the body suit, but a nice cape and hand-crafted foam details.

Looking forward to hobbying with you all!

Hey! I'm Shawn!
I've been a huge geek-gamer for my entire life, and I'm finally in a place where I can start cosplaying! I'm working on my first costume as I'm writing this. For now, I'm Spiderman. In the future, I hope to add many more projects to my collection!
I'm really into Power Rangers/Super Sentai, Marvel comics (Spidey, X-Men, Avengers, Imperial Guard) some DC stuff, Doctor Who, DBZ, the list goes on.
So um. Yeah! Hello!

Hello RPF - I collect paper stuff, old documents, historical advertising, old currency etc. I am also a movie buff and I'm especially interested paper and document props like the famous "Letters of Transit" from Casablanca or the field journal used by Indiana Jones.

I'm also interested in learning how to make some of these myself.

I've been reading this site for several years, mostly hunting reference pics of Star Wars Models and Costumes. I finally have the space to start some of the projects that have been in the planning stages for a while and thought it was about time I registered. My focus has always been Star Wars, particularly Rebel Pilots and their starships. Thanks for all the technique and reference help over the years.

Hello all,
Well I have only recently got into cosplay and have a particular knack for prop-making (have won an award already at ACK Armageddon. While this is the only costume and prop combo I have done I plan to do allot more in the near future so thought I had better introduce myself! I am currently doing this stuff after work and uni and am based down in little old NZ. My work is all done by me and focusses on trying to use stuff I can scavenge as opposed to shelling out on expensive stuff.
next up will be a year long Commander Shepard build for the next AKL expo!
I look forward to sharing!
pop over to my profile for a few more snaps.

Hello all, found this forum through the miracle of Google. Saw a lot of pictures of amazing work and I am not worthy! Looking forward to learning a lot, and thought I would post a pic of my first ever build in progress into my profile album if anyone wants to see it...

Hello.

I've been a lifelong fan of things like science fiction and comic books. I am a huge fan of the modern wave of comic book movies.

After recently watching Guardians of the Galaxy, I decided to attempt a Star-Lord costume. Coincidentally I found out there was a brand new Comic Convention, first year, coming to my area. It was on. I succeeded in completing my costume just in time and was able to attend the convention in style.

I actually have a basic build complete from helmet to boots and even the bag and some props. Some ideas were culled from lurking around here for a bit, but not built to the standard I want it to be due to time constraints (Halloween) and my low skill level. I will take this time to thank the Star-Lord builders here. Without your good works and ideas, I would have never gotten even this far.

Thank you.

Although I've been into the internet for a very long time, I have not got much into the "social" websites and such. I will have to learn how to get some pics and such online so I can share with those who shared before me.

See you in the forums.

Hello All:

Never toughed that this week while looking for a custome for this halloween I was going to come accross such a of veriety of custome ideas, attention to detail and the passion involved in the making of Cosplay customes. Never tought as a Military member that there were non military people with such passion to "attention to detail", let me explain, in the military attention to detail means be alive out there and knowing that you can channel that energy into something so amazing got me interested and now "hooked" into the cosplay world. The customization and replication of movie props and customes like the real thing ITS OUSTANDING!. I'm hoping to catch some good ideas for my interest in snake eyes, and of course GI JOE, I know!, the military is engrained in me, nothing wrong with that!, LOL.

any ideas in where can I get :snake eyes" helmet for cheap and close to the real thing?

Greetings! I am a professional puppet maker moving into full-size character builds. Not having anything specific to build for, I am right now, aiming towards cosplay. I have done Rhino, Ben Grimm/The Thing, and a character inspired by Sweetums. Now I am working on a walkaround of a bull rancor. This is going to be a huge build!! I'll try to attach a picture. Last time I tried, it not only didn't work, but erased my typed message!

Hi Folks

I'm a massive fan of The Mummy and am from the lovely country of Wales which resides in the United Kingdom
My main interest is Ancient Egyptian archaeology, so I love most films that are centred around Ancient Egypt.
I collect props from Indiana Jones and I do have a Book of the Dead prop from The Mummy with the key to Hamunaptra, but am desperate for a map
I can't wait to have a good look around this forum and swap ideas with some of the members here :)

Hi every body! I am very happy to be apart of therpf, and to be amongst great people with the same interests as me! :)

Hi there!

Newbie here! I've visited therpf a number of times, usually to check out the awesome costumes and props you guys make. I've been a fan of Tested as well, which brought me here many, many times to check out Adam's neat builds.

Anyways, I've never really expected myself to join therpf as I'm not quite the sort of guy to build props and such; I've got lots of ambition and ideas but not a lot of resources, experience, knowledge and skill set so they probably wouldn't work out. Despite that, I've decided to start a project of sorts and thought to join up here to maybe get some inspiration, ideas, maybe even learn and develop some of the skills and knowledge needed to go about completing it.

So I'd like to say thanks in advance! I'm glad I'm able to join such an amazing community of people!

Hello!

I my name is Rae. I am a (newly minted) housewife in MO and I just got my first sewing machine. We go to Archon each year and I am looking forward to being able to make my own costumes!

Hello All,

Been watching the forum for awhile, finally made it. I am a historian, biographer, life long collector since, museum co-director in Southern California. And a nerd beyond my own understandings.

My favorite era of study is the 1900-1955 and luckily for me the museum collections are mostly composed of items from that era, both world wars, the Great Depression, Golden Era Hollywood incredible items from screen worn costumes and screen used props, to incredible military items from the Great War and WWII. My purpose there beyond overseeing the collection as curator, is life-way reconstruction I take an item in the collection and I research the person(s) to whom it belonged and I archive their life story, I have worked on some amazing cases. We will be launching a website soon with the entire collection posted online for the world and a brick and mortar museum space to follow. We are called the
American Legacy Museum.
