Hi everyone!

i recently found out about RPF while planning my Holloween/cosplay costume for this year. Im an Industrial Designer attending the Cleveland Institute of Art in my Senior year. I'm very excited to be a new member of RPF and hope to contribute where I can!

I'm fairly new to props and costumes, but I'm already hooked! I just finished making a Captain America Age of Ultron suit and started a thread under replica props and costumes(I hope that is the correct category) to share my final result and backtrack on the process. I have seen quite a few great Captain America builds here and would love to see a few of the more experienced builders tackle the AOU cinema suit!

HI folks! I tripped over this forum and thought that I would join in. As I'm sure you can guess, I'm into all kinds of sci-fi, costuming, historical reenacting and who knows what else I can throw out there. So cheers to you and let's get the ball rolling!

Hi guys,

I've lurked the site for a while and stopped by for tips, but I've finally decided to join in on the fun.

I'm a special fx makeup artist from LA and I also do armor and prop fabrication on the side. I'm probably at a solid intermediate level at fabrication - I'm comfortable with foam and thermal plastic, own about three dozen different kinds of glues, and have been cosplaying for about 2 years. I'm not great at sewing though so that's something I'd like to improve on, Right now I'm looking to tackle some Captain America builds and this is pretty much the place to be for all things Cap so I thought it was time to join up!

Afternoon all,

Long time lurker here, thought it was finally time to sign up.

I work as a designer and illustrator in the UK. Currently work in print but I’ve done all sorts, from technical computer illustration to traditional scientific painting. Used to make a lot of models when I was younger, getting back into it again now, mostly fuelled by my love of movies and my tenuous grip on reality. Looking forwards to joining the RPF community :)

How's it going? I'm new to cosplay and stumbled upon the rpf while looking for me2 blood dragon pep files. I plan to going to a couple of cons in 2015, and am working on my armors as we speak. This site is really useful and I plan to be here awhile. In other news, this is what i'm working on blood dragon helm.png and this is how far I've gotten on the demo model, this is my first time working on anything and after i figure out what work I plan on remaking the entire suit.Message_1414950094820.jpg

Hello RPF!

I am new to the replica and prop world but have always been an admirer. I am from the UK but now live in Florida, I work in theatre as a technician so I am fairly handy and I really enjoy making things. I have recently been working in clay but my interest in making costumes is growing and I hope to be able to join in the discussions on here. I am sure I will learn a lot. The work on here is fantastic and I can't wait to see more. I have few projects in infancy at the moment I will post as the evolve!

All the best!

OE.

Hey guys, new to all of this. Hoping to do my first Cosplay in May for MCM London.

2 costumes on the go, Mad Max Fury Road (in time for the movie release) and Shogun Gorei from ThreeA toys and the amazing art by Ashley Wood.

Need to make a sword which is roughly my height 5,8. Was thinking of using EVA foam as it's lightweight but want it still to be strong and stable, any ideas?

Hi all,
long time lurker, thought I'd finally sign up :3
I'm Say from New York and I've been a life-long art pursuer and specifically, costuming for about a decade on-and-off.
I do a little bit of everything; sewing, sculpting, prop-making, sfx makeup, airbrushing, and now tinkering in animatronics.

Here are some builds I hope to get around to posting more of done in the last year.

Original mash-up concept - Alice in Pan's Labyrinth

Lifecasting, sculpting, latex mask and prosthetics creation.

One Piece - Keimi

Hello everyone!

I've been lurking around for a very long time, finally taking some time to post and react to other threads.
I'm a part of Force Relics from Belgium. We specialise in lightsaber replicas and original designs. We are broadening our horizons right now towards other types of props and replicas as well.

Hi all,

I’m Mike aka Superpants- an Engineer living in Northamptonshire, England.

I have been lurking here for some time gathering ideas, but have only really just started on making replica props, although I have been tinkering with all sorts of other projects for many years. The one exception I have so far completed is a basic version of Max’s staff from Where the Wild Things Are. I have a website; www.superpants.net that covers many of these other projects. Particular other interests include things involving fluids & lighting as well as wood type printing, photography, caving and climbing.

I have a well-equipped workshop and am familiar with a range of processes, but am looking forward to learning some new skills, particularly using fabrics and softer materials, and in sculpting, moulding and casting.

I have recently tentatively started a build of a Tron Legacy light suit, starting off with the identity disk for which I am currently producing the master pattern- I’ll post my version of this when the project gets far enough along.

I am Ro, my screen name Annalalaith works too.

Anyway, I am a cosplayer, and I am learning to make my own props and makeups. Took up sculpting just for a costume, and ended up doing fairly well with it. So, I found this site, because I was looking for reference pictures of Dean's pendant from Supernatural, and found a thread dedicated to it. I plan on making one for my cousin for Christmas. I do intend to make props for said costumes, but I know that I can stand to learn a few things, still. So, I intend to lurk around the forums for a bit, and see new techniques and tricks I can learn. Like, How does one clean plaster out of plasticine clay? things like that.

Back to planning heart sculptures!

Thanks for having me guys! I'm a new cosplayer and I've worked on inspired Nightwing Armor if he was in the Dark Knight Returns GN. I'm currently working on a Arkham Orgins Batman Cowl it seems easy but this will be for my custom Dick Grayson Batman costume for Next years Comic Con and Halloween. Would love any help guys, thank you for any suggestions

Hi all,

I was a member here A LONG time ago (many years) and don't remember my log in information any more. I've lurked here on and off over the years but thought I'd sign back up. Mostly into model building (and editing music) ...my fiance is trying to get me into costuming but that's a whole new beast in itself. BTW while I'm semi-new here but not new to this thing. I've been around stuff like this since the early 2000's, so a while. :)

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada but now live in Salt Lake City, Utah (since 2004). Always will be a Las Vegan at heart. ;)

I've built models which I should probably post threads of... I'm currently working on the Round 2 Enterprise-B kit. I'm waiting to hopefully get a replacement part from Round 2 for it...so right now the kit is on hiatus. I have no lighting skills what so ever so my models are non light.

Anyways just wanted to say drop a hi by. BTW regarding my screen name...old inside joke between some friends and I which started over years ago and has stuck with me since. Oh and I'm 33 years old.

Trent

What's up everyone....I'm Corwin. I'm 23, an aerospace engineering student (on hiatus for a year), aviation/automotive enthusiast, and closet nerd.

I've had an account on the 405th from when I started a Halo build, but that never took off as I was too busy at the time. This time around, I'm putting together a Star Lord costume.

Glad to be here!

Hi everyone! I'm Gavyn, I'm 19 and I like to make things sometimes. I do cosplays whenever conventions roll around and I want to get into making props in between then. It's nice to be here!
