Hello RPF world,
Been going to conventions for a long time and i have decided that its its finally time to try my first ever cosplay :)

Hi all,

I've been lurking here for a while but never actually joined so I figured it was about time. I studied model making at uni about 12+ years ago but have never really done anything serious with my degree. I've got a blog filled with random models and sculptures I've made here: http://kirkd.co.uk/

Hey all, long time lurker, first post. Love seeing costumed people out and about at conventions etc, looking at having a go myself. I do miniature wargaming and make my own moulds for custom pieces etc, a bit of scultping and working with fibre glass, looking at applying those skills on a larger scale.

Hi everyone, my name is Neal and I live in Australia.

I am a huge Star Wars fan, with a collection of figures dating back to my first action figure from A New Hope. I collect figures from all the movies (yes including the prequels), it's more the hunt that I found enjoyable as it also included my wife as she was happy to search for the figures on my list. I even have an obscure Star Wars tattoo!

I was born with Cystic Fibrosis which meant I spent a lot of time in hospital from birth and in 2011 I received a life saving Double Lung Transplant thanks to a very generous family and donor.

With a lot of time spent in hospital I started painting Star Wars models, I could only hand paint them but I am happy with the results. I even ventured into fibre optics where I had a cordless drill in my hospital room drilling out hundreds of holes in the model. I also spend a lot of time watching movies, a variety of t.v. shows and playing the PlayStation.

After visiting this site years ago and seeing the amazing props you have made I decided to venture into the prop world. I continue to look at theRPF to get a lot of inspiration from all of you talented people.

I hope to show some of my efforts soon.

hey everyone. I admire the hell out of all the artists and craftspeople making miracles happen by bringing movie magic here to this site to allow the average Joe or Jane to try their hand at it. Well, average Joe here and I'm trying to make a replica of Loki's "short" Sceptre. I've read through A TON of instructables and guides on how to build it but it seems like everything I have perused skips over steps or generalizes what you are supposed to do. I'm getting ready to go into Home Depot soon to get the supplies. I've read to use PVC pipe as the base and I've also read to use wood. Eva foam, ect... Anyway, I was hoping someone could help me out with this. With a complete guide and list of supplies needed. Thanks!

Hello!

I found out about this site searching for a Captain America shield to surprise my boyfriend with because we're both huge fans. I'm pretty handy, so I'm thinking about making one myself! This site has been super helpful already on how to go about it. I'm also a huge batman fan, so I'll probably be looking into stuff for that as well :) Great site, nice to meet you all!

Hi. Found the site because I'm always making something, and have just lurked in the past. This time it is some Dr Who cosplay props and figured it was time to create an account. Currently I have to many projects to list but some of what I am working on: a Mando helmet, steampunk goggles, and 3 masks of characters from Dr Who.

Hello!

I joined the Facebook Page a little while back but have only now decided to join the forum, i think it will help me more in terms of learning new ways of prop and costume making!
So Hey! =D

I have been making for about a Year now and in that time i've made an Iron Man suit, Steel Plate Armour from Skyrim (and numerous weapons from Skyrim) and i am currently working on my Sauron Armour!

I look forward to being part of this community!

Hello to all,
I have not joined a forum (That I can think of) in years. definitely haven't posted in one in almost as long. But I recently began some ventures into prop building and have been checking out the RPF since then for inspiration.

I plan on making several costumes and props, assuming my finances and wife will allow it. As of posting this I have only completed one costume and have developed an addiction to the feeling of working on it.

I probably wont be the most active user, but I will post the results of my projects when I can. I am however able to PROMISE that I will not be one of those people who comes on here for the sole purpose of asking for help and never contributing.

Hi, my name is Mike, and I'm from the US.
I'm a professional carpenter/handyman who got into to prop building as a hobby to do with my 11 year old. I'm also a part time fire arms instructor so movie gun have a special interest for me. I'm a big fan of the Star Wars and Aliens series so this will at least be where our initial builds start.
11 does a lot of playing around with 3D drafting, and I have a buddy with a printer so we'll probably be trying to re-invent a lot of the parts just for fun.

Hi all, have been a long time lurker here, sorry I haven't introduced myself. I'm from Australia and really interested in movie prop replicas. My interests include Star Wars, Marvel and DC stuff. I'm pretty inexperienced in prop making. The only thing I've done myself is a Stormtrooper helmet, and I'm currently in the middle of painting a Magneto helmet, made by Pannaus Props. Just bought a spun aluminium shield for a Cap America shield, so am keen to get started on that. I have young kids so progress is very slow at times!

Anyway, looking forward to learning more with experience and hopefully contribute to this great community!

Hello!

My Name is Don Van Ness.
I've been teaching my students to build Pepakua Ironman helmets as an extra credit assignment for the past 3 years.
That's about 35 helmets a year. It's a lot of work but it's great fun.

Hi everyone,

I'm Zoltan, a french cosplayer from Paris. I've been lurking here for years and never made an account, changed that today!
I love making props and sewing, but stopped crafting anything for two years. Now that I finally have some time for myself, I decided to get started on something a bit more ambitious than usual, hence why I'm here!
Other than that, I'm an animation student and illustrator :)

Hi. My name is Alexander Richardson. I have no experience in costuming, but am interested in several different areas of pop culture (I'm currently wanting to make a Black Lantern Deadman costume, and hope to eventually finish my Imperial Officer for the 501st). I'm looking forward to getting to know folks here, and love seeing all the creative ideas.

Hey, my name is Jeremy and I'm in the US. I've been working on costume for several years and my latest project has brought me here. Have done Snake Eyes, Hellboy, Predator, and Anakin Skywalker as past projects and now its time for a Batman. Have been searching for a few days for a tdk cowl or an Arkham Origins cowl. Glad to be here and once I get started good, I'll start a WIP post.
