see you soon...

Hello,
I'm Wildcard from the great state of Illinois. I found this forum through YouTube, and really like comic books and video games along with the characters in them. I look forward to posting on this forum all my big costumes and little props.

I've wandered through here a few times over the last few year. And as You lot just keep coming up when I'm looking for some obscure corner of geekdom to supply me with ref images for projects, I figure why not stop window shopping and network with folks.
I'm a Roving Jack of many a trade, and while I've a fondness for sci-fi and fantasy designs, it's usually because I like them as points of departure from which to create something for myself. I also have some grand notions of creating things that actually work or are the real world equivalent of an object.

For example a few years back I hand made some wands, based on the ideas from Ollivanders in the Harry Potter universe. So I gathered some oak and poplar wood materials, and cut each blank on the night of the lunar eclipse, working on them only at sun rise and sun set for one lunar month (until the next full moon). Into the handle of each was a tiny cavity into which I put tiny bits of certified meteor fragments before stopping up the end with a tight friction fit pug of the same wood the wand was made of. I then made labyrinth designs into the handles with wood burning, and finished them with a bit of oil and wax from plant sources.

I like the challenge of trying to make the real world equivalent of something.

Though my life's a bit of a turmoil of late and my chances for making anything substantial are pretty slim. I need income from a job again soon, likely a new car, and a new apartment before years end. While dealing with medical issues.

But I can still dream up projects and work on sketches for designs.

Hello!
I found this form when I was looking for Harry Potter textbook covers. I have always been crafty and I am so excited to enter the exciting world of prop making!

Woah; an introduction thread.

Hello RPF. I'm not too new to the prop building world, however rather new to such levels of skill with pepakura, which is what brought me here.

I am an independent film maker during the weekends, and a graphic designer and professional marketing and business videographer during the day. Enjoy the basics of life; comics, film and just about anything fantasy.

Married. 2 kids. Dog.

Cool

Hi Guys. I'm from England and a life long crafter and maker of stuff and a Steampunk. I suppose it was only a matter of time before I ended up here!

Hi there

I found RPF by looking up prop collections and builds online, I was really impressed and highly interested in all the amazing creativity that is shown around the site and after lurking around here for months I finally decided to make an account myself. So yeah I'm looking forward to finally be able to see more of this awesome community!

Thought I had introduced myself, but I guess I didn't.

I've lurked about for awhile and thought about getting into prop/replica building for years but just now taking the plunge.

Hello All!

I've been a lurker of the props and replicas community for awhile, and always wanted to build some of my own stuff but haven't had the time, money or patience to do so. I'm feeling eager to get a set of Halo Mjolin armor complete, so I've finally joined the forum and will be scouring the forums for armor building tips!

Looking forward to learning a lot from you all!

Hey all in the RPF, I'm Kreed. I recently got into prop and costume making a short time ago, and found this wonderful site through my many hours and weeks of research. And I've gotten a lot of inspiration for all sorts of things. Thanks for all the great stuff!

Hey, everyone!

Typing away from Canada, so I might as well be the 'Ol Canucklehead. I've been on and off the RPF for quite some time, looking at cosplays, builds and the like, and I thought it's about time to join up. I'm working on a Wolverine cosplay m'self, and thought this would be a great place to get help, tips, and critiques throughout. I look forward to becoming a PRODUCTIVE MEMBER OF SOCIETY through these forums. :lol

Can't wait to get started!

Greeting RPF,

I have lurked this forum for at least two years now. Always I have thought I should join, but I never got around to it until now. I always found a plethora of information and inspiration here, and I hope to continue so in the future, and perhaps provide some myself.

Hey everyone! I'm Mike,

What's up everyone! I'm Zuri & I have some interest in cosplay. I view cosplay as fan art of costumes & like art in general. I discovered this site via learning the existence of dye sublimation suits & been lurking here for quite sometime to check out many dye sub WIPs. I wish I could register soon but I'm still pleased to be part of this. I just relearn Photoshop & now learning how to make patterns from scratch so hopefully I will post some thing soon. Thanks for checking me out.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello! I was recently introduced to RPF by a good friend of mine. I'm a big fan of cosplay, comics, etc. You name it. I'm just now learning the ins and outs of costuming and designing, so be patient with me. My goal is to create the MOS Faora costume for Comic Con. Super stoked about it. I'd also love to go Tank Girl, but my heart keeps switching out and around me. I cannot decide! I adore them both so!

Um... Anyway.. I'm an English and journalism teacher in Florida. Name's Ashley. Howdy. Hope you're all doing awesome. I'm looking for friends and people to give me a few pointers here and there. Hopefully, I will be able to help y'all out, too, at some point!

My boyfriend is also into costuming. He's a fabulous with leather and weaponry. We've created our own Pirate gear and Ren Fest get-ups, too. Now, we're on to something a little more challenging. Super excited. This is where my heart is truly at.

Thank you so much for welcoming me into this fine community. I have never felt so embraced and accepted anywhere in my life! I feel like I'm right at home! :D
