Hello from Alberta Canada
been along time fan of Marvel and scifi, up until now I've only collected flashlights
This is the second time I've stumbled onto this forum looking for replicas that are well made.
i don't have much in the way of a collection, I have an aluminum Captain America shield from the Edmonton Comic expo last year.
Quality isn't the best but it was great for Halloween with my lil fella

My wife recently left me, I have my lil guy 50% of the time, which still leave me with time on my hands.

Hello all,

i've been making models in one form or another for almost as long as I can remember; these days, I tend to specialise in historic ships and steampunk airships for scratch building, and various aircraft for kit builds. I'm an engineering student, very nearly finished, and i'm hoping to expand a bit more into prop building over the summer.

Hello! My name is Julia or MountainMomma, I'm a jewelry maker and seamstress.... my brother makes suits and I help with the under armor. I also do alterations for the locals, I am a vendor at select Comic Cons, I'm a lady gamer, married for 8 1/2 years and have a 5 y.o. boy! Here are some of my pictures of items I've made. Soon as we figure out what my boy wants to be for the next Con, I will be making that costume. I love it!

Hello Everyone!

I'm a southern California cosplayer and (very) amateur prop maker. I'm new to most of this, and I just want to say thank you for all the information I've already seen here. I've only made two costumes, my favorite being my current Winter Soldier and am in the process of adding more and more to it, to get it right. He's my favorite character and really am trying to do it justice. This forum has been a tremendous help, and I have several other characters in the works, that I'll hopefully get around to.

Hi my name is Andrew and i'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

I build miniatures and props. I am also a visual effects artist and graphic designer.

Im really interested in the rocketeer builds, and all the bladerunner stuff!!

Hi. I was looking for info on how to make a Captain America shield and found this place. Its great to find so many people who like to let their inner nerd out and have some fun. Plus,I love building things. When I was a kid I built my own Castle Grey Skull. It was huge. I did'nt like the way the actual toy looked so I just make my own. I made so many of my own toys and bases for GI Joe and Star Wars with just card board and duct tape. Now I like to build big boy toys for the kid in me. Thanks for having me.

Hey everyone!

I'm J, I'm fairly new to the prop making game, but started cosplaying back in 2007. I joined the RPF board because of my interest and my motives to become a better builder/ I don't post often, but I definitely check out all the work people share here and admire the great work. My girlfriend and I have made a few things, from the Sword of Hellfriede/Darkness to Evolution Stones to Red X's mask from the Teen Titans animated series.

Hey everyone, I'm James, from Florida, I haven't had the chance to build any props yet, but I'm hoping to change that this year when I get moved and hopefully have a workspace. I'm 28 and I've been obsessed with movies since I first saw Raiders when I was 6 and my mom got me to figure out how they did the effects for the faces melting scene so I didn't have nightmares. I'm a freelance (read "broke") graphic designer of 13 years, I just started getting into illustrating. Last year I also realized I want to start getting into woodworking more when I built myself a giant light table/box from scratch. Essentially I want to eventually be able to make anything I can imagine/want, so I figured this would be an excellent place to learn a lot of new skills and hopefully make some new alliances. Thanks for having me!

Hey Guys,
It's Kez from London. I have been making costumes on and off since 2005 but due to work, money and family etc I have been out of the game for a couple of years though I am planning on making my come back with Ahsoka Tano this summer. I have made a variety of costumes in the past ranging from Samurai Warriors with amour and 7ft bows to Tomb Raider (various outfits) to Jessica Rabbit. I am a designer and developer of web and mobile applications by day, aspiring actress (trying to save for drama school...) and costumer. I run 2 businesses 1 is a design and development company called Caboodle that I have run for almost 5 years now and another is my Etsy store I have been running since Jan.
Thanks for having me guys, look forward to participating on your forums!

Hello RPF!

I just want to say how excited I am to finally be joining your community! I have been researching a few projects I have been wanting to build and every time I end up reading a thread from therpf.com so I figure it's about time I join (not to mention all the shout outs Adam Savage gives you guys on the Tested channel!).

A little about me: I am a 30 year old Lead Operator at a Water Treatment Plant in South Carolina. I have been interested in props and replicas since I was a kid (since I got a licensed replica of a "Pilgrim's Cross" from the movie "Wing Commander" for my birthday back in the early 2000's) and now I finally have the time and energy to work on some of the projects I have always wanted to work on.

On my list of projects I would like to work on/begin:
Grammton Cleric Pistol (Equilibrium)
Prozium Injector Gun (Equilibrium)
Purity Seals (Warhammer 40k)
Chainsword (Warhammer 40k)
Bolters (Warhammer 40k)

I have already learned a great deal from some of the past threads and I can't wait to get to know you guys!

Hello there people!!

New to the site, looking for some help on creating a costume, found this place searching around for some answers on google.

Hello All,
I am brand new to costuming/prop building. I learned of the forum through a coworker while assisting on some projects. So far I have yet to start my first build. Hopefully that will change very soon. I was a soldier for eight years, when i got out I moved home, and have been working in a sign shop for about 6 years now. I look forward to seeing more of the talent on this forum and hopefully contributing some of my own.

Rawr!

I've been cosplaying for a number of years and would really like to up my skill on prop building. I have a habit of wanting to create intricate props that have moving parts or lights. I've got a small queue of projects for this year and hope to get some feedback and advice while here!

Hi, I'm new here. I joined because there are a lot of talented people that I can learn new ways to do things. I'm specifically interested in building helmets ( iron man, master chief, Boba fett, storm troopers, scout trooper, clone trooper, dead pool, red hood) but occasionally I build props too. I am new though so any and all help is much appreciated.

Hey there, my name is Dan and I'm very happy to be a part of this forum. I heard about this site while watching different prop making and costuming videos and thought I'd join up and hopefully learn a thing or two. I haven't done very much as far as making props and costumes yet, but it's something that I really want to get into. Hopefully I can get some quality information from browsing and posting on the many different threads that are here. Looking forward to what I can find, thanks for reading!
