Hi Everyone.
New here. I've been looking at it for a long time but never made the step...until today.
Huge fan of Alien universe.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi Folks!

When I watched RotJ in the theater as I kid, I can remember being struck as to how amazing the Imperial Guards looked, in their crimson robes and helmets. I wanted to be one of those guys when I grew up. Imagine my surprise and delight, when I grew up and found out that I can actually be one of those guys!

So I've been working on putting together my Sovereign Protector robes for the 501st, and although I wont be doing anything but the painting of my helmet, I have been bitten by the prop bug, and hope to be making my own elements fairly soon, starting with the DH-17 Blaster. Concurrently, I'm also putting together a TIE-Reserve Pilot (and when I can afford it, get the helmet and other pieces to make him active) and Imperial Staff Officer gear.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, I am a 30 something girl from the UK. I am the sort to research the hell out of something but not actually finish it (or start it much for that that matter!). I hope to change that this year. I am a huge fan of the Alien films and also love Doctor Who. I have a few Who monsters up my sleeve that want to come into fruition at some point this year. I've also dabbled a bit in Pepakura so might have to do the obligatory Iron Man suit at some point.

I am a slow worker as I am also a full time student so my time is precious. I lurk more than post but that is mainly because human interaction scares the crap out of me.

Anyway, big wave hi to everyone :)

Hey everyone, You all can call me DeS. I've been watching the RPF for awhile now and many of the members youtube vids/channels and I gotta say the movie studios should be be giving you all jobs lol. I've just got into the costume building and only tried a few parts of a costume nothing big but hope I won't be a Nub for that long with good people like you guys.

Hey y'all. I'm a huge fan of SF/fantasy. I modelled when I was younger but haven't done much (aside from lego) since high school. I'm an attorney in Dallas and have a brood of children (6) who are FAR more artistic and talented than their old man; they get it from my wife, who is also very creative. I get a lot of help from her. I would love to get back into modelling and am thinking of starting out with some SW fighters. I also found the paper props section and really found some of the work over there fascinating and may have to try my hand at a Grail Diary someday.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Heya.

I'm Lance, and I stumbled in here while doing some research for an Iron Man build. This site is going to eat up my time for a while.

I have a mint condition, never removed from the package degree in Industrial Design, with a focus on rapid prototyping and digital fabrication. There is probably a certain amount of rust on me, but I'm hoping to use this as an outlet to get back in my groove and possibly jump start my career.

Sometime this summer I expect to get my machine shop up and running, and look forward to collaborating with you.

-Lance!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all.

I am new and glad to be here. My name is Chris. I have been building Batsuits for many years as I was the co-creator, Batman and suit maker for a group called Gotham Public Works. Interest is mainly Batman for my purpose here. I am currently building a "continuation" of the Dark Knight suit. It's the "evolved" version as so to speak. Redesigned for a new look. Like the black/gold bat emblem, new designed armor & belt, bigger ears and of course, more functionality for movement! Some things will remain the same for familiarity...like boots, gloves & cape. I want this suit to look as tho it came from the same cave. I will be posting pics soon...

Thanks
Chris

Hi All,

Been lurking around for a few months and didn't want to say anything until I had started a project of my own :)

Was looking at building a ANH Stormtrooper helmet from Fierfek’s Pep files but it is a little out of my league at the moment, so settled on a Dredd 3D helmet instead :)

Will post photos when I have something more than a pile of fiddly card bits.

I've built things in the past (before I had a job and mortgage and a kid ;)
The sword of Kahless out of MDF (yes it looks as bad as you think)
A Storm Lord shield from RuneQuest RPG, timber and leather hand painted details.
And I used to make decorative walking sticks with heads sculpted in Darwi Air-Drying Modelling clay.

Glad to meet you all.

StefWill
