Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone! I go by Primus Palus online, and I found this place in my search for a Dredd (2012) suit or build for one. Amazing work has already been done here that I'm hoping to piggyback on and make my own or find parts to do it.

:D

Very cool site here.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey guys,
My name is Wes. Being 6' 8" and tipping the scales @ 320lbs I guess you could say I'm a huge Batman fan. I've been a lurker on the BOTB forum for years and finally decided to start my build two years ago. It was an epic fail. I decided to create a costume blending my two favorite past times. Football and Batman. I basically created my own Batman Jersey Silk screening on the logos and having a sporting good store screen printing the name on the back. the rest of the costume was old football pads I had left over from high school and college and a rubies' Begins mask. It passed for a great costume at it's unveiling Halloween of 2010. Since then I have attempted twice to create a Bat helmet. One epic fail in the modeling process in 2011 and the second is still a work in progress. I am in the fiberglass and bondo stages and am currently researching possible options to replace my shoulder pads because my football pads are just too bulky.
I came to the RPF looking into this pepakura movement and have found some great posts already and have been amazed by the out pouring of toutoring and assisting between mebers on this board. If anyone has any questions or suggestions for me. Feel free to drop me a line any time.

Hi everyone!

Mitch from South Florida here. Just found this site a few days ago and i was very impressed with all the helpful info to be found here. I will take some time here and learn to navigate these pages before I pester anyone with a stupid question thats been asked 2 thousand times already. Just in the very beginning stages of an Iron man suit. By beginning I mean just cutting out the templates on card stock now. Thanks for your all your helpful files and tutorials.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello John here from California San Francisco Bay Area. I've been reading posts for a while, and now want to start asking questions.

I'm working on some Santa Costume accessories (buttons, rings, etc) for myself and thinking about 3d Printing or I'm also working on some costumes for the kids. Looking at using L200 foam for Transformer costumes.

I also love some of the TV Prop stuff Power Sword, Sword of Thundera, Voyager's Omni, and Doctor Who props. I also love the thought of making my own Green Lantern or Legion ring. At some point I'll get into making my own.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey there, well I've been lurking around RPF for a little under a year now and i figured it was time to quit suckling on the teat of knowledge and introduce myself. I'm Brantley or TheMadSmith. I'm a starving college student, blacksmith, and totally novice prop/costume maker. I've done a little work on an Iron Man foam build, some other custom armor using RPF knowledge and a Deadpool build (which is ongoing). I hope to get even more out of the site as time progresses. It always impresses me how much depth of knowledge and skill there is here. I'm honored to join the ranks.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello there, let me briefly introduce myself, my name's Zdeněk and I'm a student of illustrations from Pilsen, Czech republic. The first reason why I came to this forum is the famous Blade Runner blaster. I do love this gun for quite some time now and a short time ago I've decided to get one myself. So I've decided to look for it among the experts and ask for any help available. First I would like to point out, that I don't want to get a metal one, I prefer a plastic kit if possible, so I can put it together from pieces and paint it and weather it by myself. If anybody already knows where to head or knows anybody who actually can make me a kit and sell it to me, I would highly appreciate it. Otherwise I'm also going to search through the forum and try to find it on my own. Thanks in advance. :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I guess I better reply here sometime.

Hello, I am Justover6. I honestly have no idea how I learned about pepakura, but I did and thought the Iron Man suits were pretty cool. So I've been researching the stuff and finding all types of awesome tutorial videos and lots of awesome pep files. About four something weeks ago I built a test helmet for Iron Man out of regular paper, on a home made cardboard mat with a rusty hobby knife and clear tape and realized the importance of cardstock, hot glue and a art mat. So I've been putting off making the suit for reasons unknown. Until I decided to try each method of material; foam, cardboard, and cardstock. The only real thing I'm still wondering about for making these suits is how to scale your boot and hand pieces. :confused

Past that I've been roaming the site just looking at the pretty pictures and posting random comments here and there.

And that's all for me. I'm enjoying the site y the way.

Hello everyone :)
I'm Alan, i'm from italy and i'm new to the forum tho i've been reading and following it for months now looking mainly fo back to the future related stuff.
I'd like to thank everyone of you for the amazing job you do with your research and commitment to this "hobby" :) i've learned a crazy amount of stuff thanks to you.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone, first post on the RPF. I've been on for a while now looking at all the great ideas and costumes out there and from using this site, I was ablet to build my first costume in time for Halloween last year. I'm an engineer and use CAD on a daily basis. This allows me to make some pretty exacting designs for modeling.

Thanks for all the help on these forums I've been able to learn a lot and I hope to have some more fun with this hobby in the future.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Well...hi!

My name is Steffie, 24 and i'm pretty new at building stuff.
I'm a video art/film maker. (the only things i did build were rig's for my camera)
I own my own clothing label and now i'm starting on my very first handmade cosplay! (and maybe some film props)
So i'm searching for tips all over the internet.
The first cosplay i did was a crappy japanese school girl uniform, now a year later i think it's time to boost my skill level.
I'm pretty enthusiastic so i thought 'WoW rogue tier 5 set!' let's do that with my zero experience!

So i hope to get some good tips but what i've seen till now i'm really impressed by the stuff people make.
i'm excited!

Hello everyone!

I go by Pantera or Pan. I am a game and computer junkie but I know how to sew and carve.

I am into medieval and space age armor and weaponry. I love working in leathers and I'm now starting to work in plastics.

I am currently working on a replica of the bracer from assassin's creed and a working wrist blade.

Thanks for the great works of art that this forum has shown and inspired me with!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings!

What a wonderful forum! I recently stumbled on theRPF while researching my next project... The Pegasus WOTW Tripod. I'm hooked!

I have been a modeler for nearly 35 years now. I've built just about every genre out there (including radio control) but have mostly been into Sci-Fi vehicles for about 20 years. My latest job has me traveling all over the country so I haven't been as active in the building department as I'd like but I manage a little here and there.

I also have a DeviantArt site zonkm on deviantART where I display my models as well as some photography and sketching. I'll definately post some better pictures here as soon as I can!

Thank you all for taking a look as well as sharing your work and wisdom!

Scott

Well, I recently turned 40 and have been a Star Wars fan since I first saw the movie back in '77. You can feel free to friend me on facebook, if you'd like; www.facebook.com/shawnlippe

Thank you and I look forward to my time here.
