Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone, I'm the new guy! The things everybody is making on here are amazing! Very inspiring, I think I will start a project too in the near future :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone.

I am Joe, I posted on here a few times about the TDKR shirt and ended up getting sucked into reading the other threads. I have a bunch of prop replicas from the more mainstream manufacturers (EKG, Flux Capacitor, Mystic Seer, 300 stuff) but I have seen some really cool customs on here so I think I will continue to lurk and hopefully buy something outside of retail.

The Goonies replicas are what I am most interested in next, and a Ghostbusters Trap... but it could be anything...

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Also, is there anyway to turn off the Newbie Notice at the top of every page? Or do I have to wait until I make 20 posts? I am not sure I have that much to say at once... :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello to Everyone.

Didn't really know about this community until the last few months until I heard about it from Adam (Mythbusters fame and fortune). Not sure exactly what I would like to do yet but some of my interests are the Mass Effect Series, Halo, Star Wars, Stargate, among a few other miscellaneous items.

Don't know where to necessarily start or what kind of tools I really should equip myself with but I think this would be a good hobby for me to have...although a PhD while working would normally take up all of a sane person's time.

Hi folks. My name is Jon. I live in Connecticut, USA and have been a Star Trek TOS and Sci-fi fan since I was very young. Like many here I have also built all the standard Star Trek models over the years and collected a few cool props. My interest waned over the years but has been renewed recently when a friend of my recommended this site. I am really excited to be here!!

For the past 10 years I have been building lighted Titanic models and dioramas and have them all over the world in homes of alot of great people who love my work. Some examples of my work:

Right now I am working on a full scale replica of Mr. Spock's bridge science station. I hope to post some pictures of it very soon.

In the meantime looking forward to making some new friends and learning new things.

:thumbsup
Jon

Hello.
I accidentally stumbled across this site whilst looking for Dalek plans. Needless to say I found them and started.

No professional experience, but interested in a lot of props.

HI EVERYBODY! Ran into the forums a couple of months ago and saw some threads about the rocketeer. I had been dreaming about building this for quite some time and never thought it would be possible or even how to go about it if it was. This site was a big factor into changing my mind (that and a nice freelance gig that gave me a financial green light :) )

I am working on a rocketeer outfit but I am a COMPLETE noob.
Therpf.com is my only hope

I am an illustrator/graphic artist with plenty of hands on (scupling, carving, modeling, painting) experience, but this is a completely different beast. I absolutely LOVE working on kits.

I love eveythign sci-fi and fantasy. Major Star Wars geek, love Battlestar Galactica, Ghostbusters, Aliens, Predator, anything Marvel, and of course the Rocketeer. Married, 30yo, (no kids) designer by trade, employed currently in Nashville TN but I am planning on leaving and returning to my home in Orlando FL this year. Will need to find a job :unsure

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey guys been a member of the site for a while mostly just reading and checking things out. I've been working on props and costumes for about 10 years now and getting more serious about it.

I work on Teen Wolf and have done a few movies as a tailor in their costuming department. If you need advice or help sewing let me know I can probably help.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all,

My name is PJ Reindel. I costume as Falin Skirata and have been the Personnell Officer (Like the 501st LMO) at the Mandalorian Mercs Club for the last 5 years.

About two years ago I got involved in helmet making when my close friend DeltaSquadBoss "made me do it" :lol since then I have gone on to do about 10 custom, canon and commision Mandalorian helmets focusing primarily on the Mercs forums and Facebook under the name Skirata Arms (www.facebook.com/SkirataArms www.facebook.com/Falin.Skirata )

I joined the RPF in Decemeber and planned on getting at least semi active here then the site got hacked and it kind of slipped away from my mind. Unfortunatly it is an investigation at Mercs that has brought me back. But, now that I am back, I am going to make an effort to be a bit more active here, at least checking in once a day or so.

Anyway, that's in a nutshell.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all,
I'm a no-budget filmmaker, visual effects artist, and prop maker. Remember where you were when you started? Yeah I'm not even there yet, but I'm working on it. I've just started modifying the Nerf guns around my house and seeing what cool things I can make them do in After Effects. That's why I love this site: helpful people who give helpful info to helpless people like me. And oh yeah, I'm a dude that plays the trumpet.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I was referred to The RPF by a friend. I love the site and the resources. I'll be spending a lot of time here.

Hey guys,
My name is Aaron. I am kind of new to building replicas and models. A few months ago I made a respectable replica of Captain America's shield. I say 'respectable' because it was quite good for a first attempt.

I found out about this website whilst searching for The Amazing Spider-Man movie replica suit. I am amazed at how well the community gets along with helping each other.

Thanks for taking the time to read this

Aaron

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi all, my name is Brad and I'm a graphic artist in Ohio. I was a member on here years ago when I was more active with the 501st. Still have my detailed Sandtrooper and TIE pilot from those days. Back on here searching for odds & ends. Will be posting a thread soon about my search for Clark Kent's Clive backpack from Smallville.....talk about a lesser known and rare prop.

Anyways, here's my latest creation. I know this isn't a car site, but I think movie/tv cars are characters themselves (especially if they talk back....enjoy). :cool
