Hello all!
My wife and I stumbled across this thread while building our costume for Comic Con a while back and we are just amazed at the cool things everyone is doing.
It is humbling to see what everyone is capable of!

Well Im sort of new to building all of these things but my wife and I attacked our comiccon entry with gusto. We built out stuff primarily out of aluminum because we really wanted to get a realistic look and feel to everything. We were very pleased with the results. So I personally bring some woodworking background to my approach which I know is very different than a lot of people. I am very interested in learning more about mold-making techniques and the other approaches people use.

Ill include a few pics of our comiccon Femshep build. As I said, the suit is primarily aluminum. The Valkyrie rifle is almost entirely solid aluminum (about 15 lbs).
Thanks for having us!!!!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey RPF, I've been lurking here for about a year and a half now, and finally felt like it was time to sign up. I've been admiring all work done here by all the creative people, and would want to join up with the finest propmakers in the world.

My experience in building props ain't really that big. I've finished an Master chief helmet, which didn't really turn out as the best thing in the world. But that was my first finished HD pepakura file.

One thing I've been working on now for almost a year has been my stormtrooper costume. It's almost finished, the things I'm short of is boots, blaster, holster, neckseal, co2 canister, i also have to attach the ammo pack to the left leg.

Now the costumes and props i want to build in the future is yet to be discovered. Though i want a Spiderman costume and a Deadpool costume, i yet have to find a good kit to buy for each! Any chance i could get some help on the way here on the forum?

Other than that, it's going to be nice getting to know you people of the RPF!

Regards

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings!

I came across therpf while doing some research for my DD billy club build. Read Rylo's post and was amazed there was someone else out there like me. :)

After reading up on his grapple build I began to just browse around and was blown away with the talent here! Not only a centralized location with all this talent but an openness to share!

Prop making is 100% a hobby for me. I am a web developer and have never sold any props professionally. I can't wait to share in this great community!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Turns out I never posted on here, even though I've been a member for a couple of years... whoops! I can't even remember how I came to join this site after all that.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all! Can't wait to get to know you guys. A little about me.... I started my hobby of painting helmets with a collection made of all 32 NFL helmets and 12 Big Ten helmets. I got used football helmets and sanded, primed, painted, waxed and decaled all 44 of them. Now I'm hooked on Helmets!! I'm done with football and I want to collect helmets and mask from tv/movies. I started my collection with toy helmets because they are cheaper. As I was searching for an old school stormtrooper helmet, I ran across this site. I can't believe the amount of talent Here!!! Needless to say, I now know I need to upgrade my collection!!! I have bought a nice Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, and Tie fighter helmets so far. I want to replace my toy Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Terminator, Iron Man and Master Chief helmets with quality ones found here. I'm also a huge spiderman fan and will be looking for a mask. I haveto admit, I'm a little intimidated by the knowledge and talent here. I'm a true novice when it comes to modes and whatever. I hope I don't ask too many dumb questions! I've read a few post in the junkyard and it's like another language lol! Anyway, I will post pics of my collection of the helmets I have painted and of my other collection as well. I have a construction project in the basement where they're stored and won't be able to get to them for about a month. If you have any artist, recommendations for the above helmets let me know. Thanks!!!!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I kept coming across this forum while googling things and figured I might as well join! I'm no where near as skilled as a majority of you from what I've seen, but I love learning new techniques so maybe I'll try some stuff out sometime. I'm mostly familiar with sewing, knitting (lots of knitting) and a little bit of wig making. Currently trying to put together two Doctor Who/Torchwood costumes by August 19th.

But anyway, hi!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I'm a machinist for over 30 years, I've made alot of things in my time (mainly industrial) but the creativity here is incredible! Thanks everybody!

Hey everyone,

I've searching the 'net for A STABO harness Vietnam reenacting and I found one on here. I was glad when I could finally register and got really interested when I saw all the other threads.

History, military and metal gear solid have been some of my favorite things in life recently. My first project will be Force Recon from Vietnam, from there SOG and then Naked Snake.

Howdy all!

I was just browsing online for some Mandalorian pep files and found some on here a couple days ago and this site just amazes me. People here have so much talent and it gives me something to try and work to. I want to learn how to make my own files and what not so I'm open for anyone's tips on making blender files.

Hello to the rpf!

I'm Nate, and Im actually an RC nut rather than a prop/costuming nut but stumbled onto your forum somehow or other and found quite a bit of information I can apply to scale rock crawler builds for myself and my customers so I joined up.

Thanks for the font of information this forum and its members provide.
