Okay now. I'm finally here after lurking about for many years and admiring the wonderful workmanship of other prop builders.
Hi everybody, I'm Blair Keith. Some of you may know me by way of my pal, Bob, aka OB10. I had been dubbed the "Cardboard King", though I have seen other craftsmen here use the same material, in the early '90's, but had been using the stuff since the early '80's. It's cheap and easily available and can work like wood, since thats what it is made of.
I scatch build most of my stuff. If I can't find something for a part, I usually fabricate it from this material. Plus most of my scatch builds have been made before any kits were available and even before there was an RPF.
I've had many admirers of my work and requests to build something for them. Let me be clear about this now so there will be no misunderstandings in the future. To me, this is a hobby. It takes a lot of work to dream up techniques and a lot more labor to create my props for my use and to entertain. I'm not looking for business opportunities building for others. I'm sure other builders here may feel the same.
Anyways, I'm glad to be here and hope to learn and perhaps share some of my techniques I've developed over the years.
