Hello world!

My name is Doug Emes, and while I joined in 2007, somehow my account was deleted. It's 2009 and open registration is back, so I am back now as well.

I live in Garland TX and am building a replica astromech similar to the ones
found at astromech.net I am also the elected librarian for the www.dprg.org - The Dallas Personal Robotics Group.

I attended rebelscum's Prop party in 2008, and hope to do so again in 2009.

Hi,

John Schlosser here. Glad to finally to become a member. Been waiting patiently for a long time for this.

Aside from my 3 clones below and my biker to the left, I've a 3po I'm working on, clone mini gun and a Tk.

I also just got my vac table on line and am brushing up on my casting/mold making skills.

Of course I have a son arriving in about 7 days which will slow me down as I enjoy fatherhood again.

Thanks for having me!

Hi, I'm Chris and I'm a propaholic... Ok maybe not that bad ;) I just have the gene ;)

Been lurking for awhile, might as well become a member.

Although I don't have any props or replicas I have a few I want to get into.

I want to see a airsoft version of the plasma rifle before I die. It would utilize glow in the dark 8mm bbs. It would have a built in laser on the bottom and lastly a internal smoke machine.

I'd also love to see a Tik-tok costume! I saw the one at skywalker sound.

I had a dream once that Maria and C3PO were getting married. And in the crowd are all the robots you can think of with their human friends. Let's have a robot wedding sometime in the future at a comic con or somewhere.

My recent obsession has been trying to find a Planet Hollywood Terminator 2 statue. (forum post on that in a few minutes).

I suck at model buidling, mostly the painting part. That's more than half the trouble ain't it? I usually don't get started on them cuz I know I can't paint em well enough. So instead I'm reading about infinitely more talented people on here!

I love George Lucas stuff, SW (1,2,3 mostly but I love the model making that wen't into the later films, Kerner Optical sets are mind blowing!), THX1138, American Grafitti, (filmed all in the bay area). James Cameron , T1, T2, Aliens. I love the Predator 1 and 2 movies. Batteries not Included, Return to Oz, oh can't forget Blade Runner. Did you guys see those acid etched Tyrell building panels?

Well see you around ;)

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hello everyone, my name is Lloyd. I live in Oceanside, CA with my wife Amber. I am an active member of The San Diego Fan Force & Rebel Legion's "Sunrider Base". The Star Wars costumes that I have are a prequel generic Jedi & an Endor Commando. I also have a Logan (Wolverine) costume almost done & a classic Joker costume. My last & final Star Wars costumes that I am trying to complete are: Episode I's "Eeth Koth" & Episode III's "Galactic Marine". It's great to be here (after wanting to join for the past 2 years). Looking forward to everthing this forum has to offer! :)

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

I'm Tom Strong (yes, I'm aware of the Alan Moore comic book and yes, that's my real name), I'm a high school physics teacher that spends my spare time helping at a haunted house. I'm somewhat interested in the props themselves but my main interest is in the techniques used to make them. We make a lot of our own props at the haunted house and we're always looking for new ways to do things.

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hello! My name is Saiho and I've always had an interest in these kinds of things. I was so happy to find a forum full of people who have figured out mysteries that I had only begun to fathom. I made tons of paper tricorders and padds as a kid. I eventually got into cosplay and made many complex props for that hobby.

Right now, I've just finished a project on a 1:1 scale Frenzy from the Transformers movie. He's super movie accurate and doubles as a marionette. I'll make a thread someplace later.

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here!...

Hi everyone im Hayden ive been hanging around here for a while lurking in the unregistered shadows. Im only 19 but ive got a fair collection of figures and collectibles from several genres. main interest is star wars (and the majority of the scifi genre) most things to do with medieval and fantasy especially LOTR.
Currently have a completed Rotj Vader costume, A spec ops shadow trooper, Tusken Raider and an unfinished AP stormtrooper.
Currently building a scratch built hellboy samaritan with odds and ends ive had lying around (its a pain so far but it will be worth it in the end).
Will hopefully get some pics up later to show you all.
Cheers guys
