New BMF coming

As Rocket would have it, "Ohhh....yyYYYeaaah....". Those are both looking good - absolutely colour me in for a set, whichever of you guys decides to offer them.

Printed the second mandible pit I've drawn up last night, this one I did in 0.05 layer height just to test and see what the printer was capable of. Didn't have time to clean it up before work this morning but the details came out pretty decent. A little file work and some paint will get it looking good.

Some of the details in my drawing were too small for the printer but it'll be good enough for my purposes. That and Shapeways prices it at $20 to print in Frosted

Yeah I'm hoping I can bundle them together on there when I'm finished to get the price cheaper. I put this one on Shapeways earlier and the price was right at $20 for the frosted detail. If they're all around that price it'll get pretty expensive even to just do the upper mandibles.

Yeah I've been finding that out myself with my figures on Shapeways. The trick is to get the detail down just enough to be able to print in ABS Plastic. but when it comes to some of these figures, the last thing you want is to dull down the detail.... sometimes the only thing you can print it in is the frosted ultra detail due to the size of some of the detailed bits at this scale. When the smallest size that ABS can print is .1mm and the smallest part on your piece is .03mm... you can increase the size of that piece and it doesn't quite look right OR print in FUD where the smallest part that can be printed is .02mm... it's a fine line and the smaller the detail the more expensive it becomes.

They're back in Argos ebay for £29.99, great price.

Oh good ***** no! I am going to have to buy one, how the hell am I going to get that past the girlfriend? We already have three MF in the house, but at 29.99 I have to buy it for my SW Minis!!! Then all the cost of the Shapeways pieces I want...

I just bought MrDickJones' started MF with a ton of parts. I happen to have another one that is mostly untouched, plus I ordered 3 different shapeways parts for it which are still being made and I won't need. Would you be interested in picking them up from me? I can recoup cost and you don't have to wait for Shapeways as long.

Yeah I know, I had the little piece in there but it was too small to print so I took it out. I forgot to change the name of the .STL file.

Your shapeways listing also calls it the upper left docking tube greeblie - it shows up twice on the studio model?

No problem, I hope it helps someone out!
Thanks for sharing that, D.J.!

Ah, gotcha. My laptop has died and I have no access to my reference pics right now, but couldn't think where it would go up there.
