Never Ending Story The Book

I have feelers out on binding.
The quotes should give ballparks on printing and pressing, about 500 pages moslty text and some illustrations, chipboard cover.
Chipboard so we can get the leather perfect ourselves.
Anyone working on the marbled endpaper?
Are there any artists that would like to tackle some drawings or ornate initials?
I assume no pics were to be had at Sony?
 
If somebody can send me a word doc. with the tittle and the necessary bumps i can get those started.
and an initial price on doing enough Auryns and corners for 20 books comes to 2500.00 at todays bronze costs.
So just over 100 per book.
 
I really like to contribute something for the pages, but currently don't have the time :unsure - I hope I find some time next weekend.
I still hope to see pics from Sony.
Do we already know the page size ?
 
Are you after someone to create illustrations or to find them.. Cause I have a few to give people ideas:

Those illustrations look really great - if the books had something like that in them (and even text) I would easily pay $150 up to $200 for a SA book, depending on production costs. The pages need not be totally SA, just as long as the outside is.
I'm really excited about this one!
 
As soon as I get the word doc I can get the cover decals made.
Jennigirl can send the auryn to be molded or she can do it
Vash is making a mold for the corners I believe.
Irishamericanlad was working on the cover in leather.
 
Like I said and Frosty suggested, I am def. down with contributing to the investment fund. This is def one of the pieces I've longed to own for many years. Thanks to everyone who is trekking along to make it possible.

Ditto.. This is the main piece I have been after and the reason I wanted to join many years ago..
 
Agreed here.
Take the time to do it right the first time.
I'm still surprised a movie-replica version of the real novel was never made! If I were in charge of that publishing company, I would have hopped on that LONG ago!

Isn't that recasting? The gift shop Auryn is still produced and sold by the gift shop. Not to mention, the gift shop Auryn is not screen accurate. Look at it next to a screencap of the book (and necklace for that matter). The scales are all wrong, the heads are slightly different shapes, and a couple other very small details differ. I don't doubt the gift shop Auryn has production origins, but it's definitely not a copy of the screen used one.

Regardless, the point of this post is recasting. Making a mold of that Auryn and selling recasts of it is...well...recasting. At least contact the RPF member who's wife sculpted one from scratch and see if they'll contribute to this project. Again, it's not 100% screen accurate, but it's closer than the gift shop one.

Despite my objections though, I am interested in this project and would love to buy one if they're made right (ie. screen accurate and no recasting).
