I was gonna give this prop a try, but cannot find a printable version of the book.
Any help?
I tried searching for pdf....
Also if i can get it into word is there a way to change Sebastion to maya?
All at once rather than a hundred times.

when you hit ctrl F on microsoft word, it opens the search function, once there you should be able to see the replace tab on that new window.

Just about all text editors have a find and replace function, so once you find the book it should be relatively easy (assuming the format you find is editable, many PDFs aren't, exactly*).

*Kinda, there are ways, but it's a bit of a chore and depending on the circumstances, it can be illegal/immoral/just plain hacking.

This is the Only Good Photo of the Book I could find:

I wanted my wife to give this a try, but she hasn't gotten around to doing it.
You probably have a better pic of this already, but here's a sharpened cap of the metal corner filigree on the book:

Looking forward to seeing this done.

So you're looking to replicate the book prop AND have the pages filled with the actual story? Great idea...if somone offered these for sale (especially with customizable options, like replacing the name) you would sell quite a few of these - even to non prop collectors.

The Ayryn and corners are easy.
The problem is it woould take me a year to type the screen play.
I type very slowly with lots of errors.
If i cannot fill the book with the book there is no point from my stand.....point:rolleyes.
This being one of the movies i enjoy watching with my little girl, I would like it to be a nighttime story book, one that I can read to her and is about her.

This is a stunning idea for a prop, has anyone ever supplied resin/metal replicas of the decorations on the front? I would love to make this with the screenplay inside as a gift :)

They have stuff like the corners in millwork at Home Depot and Lowes, not sure how exact they are, worth a look though.

You could also try Rockler; this is one they have that is not exact but close, called a...

IF you were to make the printing inside, it would need to be as the actual book, right? Or the screenplay? The book is available by Michael Ende. To have a COMPLETE book would be great!

As far the corner designs, my buddy works in metal manufacturing and they have a laser cutter. I would just need to polish it to achieve the rounded edges and such so its not so cut edged.

I'd be interested in some corners if this could be done for a decent price.

I'd take a book with blank pages, just so long as it has all the cover detailing, tan leather or leather look vinyl, decor and gilded lettering.

my father in law has his own print shop, he said he could print the book, or the script... we could make this a joint effort...

I just ordered the book from Amazon so maybe this could work. In the film, he is actually reading the book itself not the screenplay. Thats why I was curious as to what would be inside. The book from Amazon is not as big as the prop but I think we could make it bigger.

As far as the outer cover, I just also ordered BookCoverPro to create the lay out. I just would need the auryn and corner designs. I could create the embossing with the book cover program.
