My Reach Spartan Armor WIP

Alright man, don't worry about telling the whole world all the time, it's your suit after all XD

A Harbor Freight just opened semi locally to me, and I got myself 8 sheets of EVA for 20! I'm going to attempt an Iron Patriot Helmet today. Wish me luck :)

Harbor freight is my go-to for everything! Their hot glue is mad cheap too, and strong. I got an oscilating tool, like the dremel multimax, for $15! Eva foam is on sale there like every other week. Love it. Good luck on the patriot suit...my next build is a toss up between something Iron Man or something Star Wars...

I started a shin last night, still had the stencils from when I attempted this piece months ago when I was first experimenting with foam. The one on the right is the old one and is really messy and warped. I eliminated most of the seams during the tracing phase on the new one...I hop it all fits together, It should. with the right bending and shaping, I should end up with a truly seamless piece. I will finish it tonight, hopefully with the grenadier knee.

Looks good to me :) And yes, it felt like Christmas when I saw the Harbor Freight store :p Everything was cheap and *cough* labeled... SO idn't have to spend an hour to find it XD

The shin looks better and I wish you luck as well with it :)

and so we begin...
1:1 scale printout for stencils, the original scale was set to 31" (apparently that is accurate...?) however the grip seemed too small for a gloved hand so I re-scaled it at 33.5"

then created a cardboard frame (with supports and holes for magazine, barrel, butt, etc...)

and here it is with the first stencil laid on top, to get an idea of what the main body will look like.

That's all for now, let me know what you all think...

here's what i came up with for the barrel, i don't know, i like it...

and the first couple layers of detail...

neeeeeeeeeeed sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep....

made great progress with the AR tonight...starting to look familiar?

beat this caption:
"Hey Chefbzd, WHAM called, they want their assault rifle back..."
hahaha...good night...

Wow, This is really amazing work, I will be sure to follow this build for awhile...its gives me something to shoot for when I make my armor over this summer. Keep up the good work.

I got a little creative with this part...I mean, who doesn't like a nice butt?

here's how I connected the top pieces...

Isn't she pretty? :..)

tomorrow, the magazine...

Wow man! Your gun is looking amazing, and you're building it really fast too! I think you have inspired me to build my own gun out of foam.
