My PKD Bladerunner pistol build.

Have you other guys finished your blasters yet?
I got back to my build.
Made a trigger guard out of steel and got that and the barrel blued.

I got the barrel and some other bits looking great with a graphite powder rub.
Then, while gently fitting the bolt, I had yet another breakage. This is a terrible batch of resin. There might be enough room to fit a rod in there and epoxy it back together otherwise I’m not sure how to proceed.

Too bad about the breakage :(...as you said; maybe with epoxy and a rod + screw of the grips might solve the problem in terms of strength:unsure:

Fixed the break and assembled the bolt and barrel, but I’m concerned about the strength of it so I don’t think I’ll risk sliding the bolt back on it, which is a real shame because that’s one of the great features of this kit.
I started refitting some of the pieces and it’s starting to look like something.

Yup. That's a very common break for this blaster. Really is a shame that you can't work the bolt without breaking it. Build looks fantastic so far though!!!

Got the final assembly done.
After yet another break, I was afraid to try and tap the holes for the set screws on the left side of the ammo housing so it’s missing those and a couple of the little details.
Overall it looks good, I think. With the metal add-ons it’s got a nice weight.
Shown below next to my Tomenosuke for comparison.

Was finally able to find the perfect switch to put in between the two lights on the mag, now there isn’t a nasty third hole with light coming through. I can officially say that I’m 90% done with this kit. Just gotta do some paint touch ups now and I’ll be finished. The flathead screw I used came from an old rifle stock, that’s why it looks rusty and roughly cut. Gotta say, this Anders resin kit has gotta be one of the highlights of my collection for sure!!

Damn these builds look great, and the finishes are so damn realistic! I’m looking into some of the printed kits myself, and plan on inserting rods/ reinforcements into these delicate areas and fabricating some parts as well like robotprops trigger-guard. Nice work there btw!
Sad that these breakages have occurred, but it does highlight what components are subject to failure (for the uninitiated like me.)

Speaking of breakages, if you notice on mine where the bolt is on the cover for the barrel it actually completely snapped in half when I was screwing the bolt in due to the fragility of the resin. I mended the seam pretty well with super glue/gorilla glue and it’s barely noticeable and you can only see it when you look up close. But it’s still visible to me as a reminder to take my time whenever I’m tackling projects like this.

How far along did you get with your finish/ patinas? It sounded like you were almost there. I remember some cylinder fine-tuning too but you’re probably past that now

It’s close to the end. I got hung up on the LED circuit and accurizing the clip. Hadn’t gotten to the painting stage, yet.

All in good time. I find it useful to take breaks on projects and then come back at them from new angles.

Can you confirm what dummy rounds I need for this please will it take normal .44? I’m in the UK so cannot get hold of live rounds but do you have a link for a website where I can get a dummy rounds which is fine for what I’m doing. Would you be able to reply whether I have found the right ones

Should be 44 special rather than magnum. I’ve only got a set of snap caps but think this should be the one on that site .44 Special Inert Round Lead Round Nose

FINALLY getting back to this. My unfinished blaster has been sitting in a box for 2 1/2 years. Ordered a new electronics kit for the clip, and I’m easing back into research and planning for the painting and detailing.
