Its not that one, its the black Stormtrooper - (OT style)

Cheers

On the MR Forums it has been clarified that the Shadow Stromtrooper helmet will be a symmetrical, idealized TK helmet, while the regular white helmet will be (an attempt at) screen accurate.

You guys do realize this isn't a repaint right? This is the Shadow Stormtrooper, not Shadow Trooper.

[/b]
It's like a repaint of the trooper helmet they aren't selling yet :)

I'm not CS member. I don't normally buy props directly from their site. I get them from ebay. But even if I was member and wanting to qualify for raffles for that helmet, it's going to be hopeless for me.
[/b]

It's not hopeless. You've got to be in it to win it. I've got high hopes. I don't know the odds but I'm getting one. That's positive thinking. Will it and it will be.

Oh I do hope that they release the symmetrical as a normal trooper helmet. I'm a avid SW fan, just not a fan of wonky out of shape helmets. :(

FYI, MR stated that the version used to display at the toy fair is not the final version. So don't base your judgments on the toyfair pics.

I would love to be surprised by their performance, but I'm skeptical at best. At C3 they had a one piece FG helmet that was allegedly a scan from a real helmet. It had a striking resemblance to a GF helmet (which had a fairly unique and not entirely accurate look) then nothing happened for a long time.
Recently in the UK they displayed what was confirmed as a SDS stunt helmet in their booth as a prototype. :rolleyes Then the POS they had out at Toyfair was pretty pathetic looking in terms of accuracy. Bottom line is they won't be making an accurate helmet, even if they get the sculpt dead on and don't undersize it like the Clone helmet they still won't vacuum form it out of plastic or assemble it accurately.
Its been almost three years of talk without even a real prototype to be seen, they need to stick to what they are good at and stay away from helmets. Its nice to see that even after one shipping/production disaster after another they still have some cheerleaders though.

I agree, Symmetrical would be sweet. The Helmets as they should have been (to me), and how they looked on screen to me as a kid. Not lumby and homemade (wonky :) ) looking but looking mass produced by the Empire to perfection to strike fear in the hearts of all.
Heck for an idealized (corrected) version I might even be willing to pay for the MR one, which is typically out of my range I am willing to pay.

I'm with Seth on this i don't expect to be surprised at all.
The helmets supposed to be released in June isn't it and nobody has actually seen anything of it aside from this prototype that supposedly isnt the final product.
I really dont understand this raffle thing either as far as i can tell you PAY to be a member of the CS and you are entered into a raffle for a prize which you have to BUY which you haven't seen and have no idea what it's going to cost you ?
All i can say is there is certainly truth in the old saying there's one born every minute.
:lol
Also i might be wrong here but i think the concept was back in 76 for the helmets to have a somewhat organic look to them hence the asymetrical look much like a human face is ?

Kinda hard to base judgment on something that hasn't been released yet. Unfortunately the helmet fiasco in regards to shipping and plaques really have little to do with accuracy. The problems with the 327th had more to do with the reference pic that was used(hardly an issue with a TK). Yeah, the size issue was a problem, as the digital models didn't allow room for a real human, hence the need for a size increase, which is fine by me because otherwise you wouldn't even be able to wear em.

Will I be surprised if the helmet is a complete disappointment? No, but I'm not going to say one way or the other until the final product is released. I hope that you're not implying that I'm a MR cheerleader either, as all I'm doing is stating facts here. If there are statements being released in regards to the accuracy and level of attention to detail on this helmet, then I think it's worth mentioning.

If there's one thing that I've noticed with MR, it's that issues are addressed and changes are made regularly in order to give most collectors what they want. You can't please everyone though, as it you guys can obviously see.

It was said that the helmets will be symmetrical, with mirrored bubble lenses, and lined with leather.

I don't get what's so difficult to understand. If you're interested in buying it, you submit your name. Names are then drawn, giving everyone in the world an equal chance at getting their hands on one, not just those people lucky enough to be in the right timezone or online when it goes on sale. If your name is drawn and you decide you don't want it, you simply pass and another name will be drawn.

The lottery system has the advantage of not only being fair to customers, it also reduces the server load for MR. In the end the only losers are the order snipers who won't be able to sit there hitting F5 on multiple browser windows come sale day.

That's interesting. I didn't realize that MR had gone from the 100 originally announced to 500.

I guess I'm just glad I got one.
