MR Shadow Stormtrooper Limited Edition Helmet

I hope they do a symmetrical Stormtrooper helmet as opposed to the non. Other wise they are not going to sell as much as they hope.

Fortunately MR will be doing the wonky version. True to the film and worthy of the name replica in MR.

If they've scanned and casted an original helmet, then this will arguably be the most accurate stormtrooper helmet to date. I really dont see how any others will compare. I'm sure there will be the nay sayers but really, how can you complain about an ideal HERO version scanned and cast from the original. MR even pointed out that they scanned the interior to get a more accurate exterior. How you like them apples?

Maybe this is OT, but does this "limited edition" stuff piss you off as it does me?

How does this benefit anyone but the person buying the item or a collectibles black market?

If 5000 people are willing to buy, how does only making 500 make ANY sense? :angry

Does this mean that the regular Stormies will be sold soon? It will be frustrating to have a handful of black Stormtrooper helmets ht the hands of collectors before the ones that actually were in the movie do.

I'm dying for the Stormtrooper helmet. The white one.

My bad...I read too fast and thought it was a EPIII repaint (which still wouldn't surprise me anyways).

Anywho, when did this 'Shadow Stormtrooper' come as a wild idea for MR? Where is the white bucket as moffeaton has requested?

Pre-order for the white stormtrooper bucket is supposed to happen soon.

I don't like this whole raffle ordeal one bit either. This is way too important of a collectible to me for it to be treated this way. I hate it.

I saw some pictures of the TK lid displayed at a fair it looked like a cross between a stunt and a hero to me and they should have done them in abs not fibreglass.

To get back on topic anyone got any pictures of this potential prize ?

If these are wildly popular, I'm sure that they'll find a way to re-introduce it (ie. the AT-AT second edition). Personally I think they'd be hard pressed to sell 5000 black stormtrooper helmets, but that's just me.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen a lottery where the prize is the opportunity to buy something.

Gentle Giant have done it already. It's a disturbing new trend from companies producing collectibles....

I think it is fairer than their presales that start when east coasters are at work and some of us can't get to a computer until after work..

If the MR manages to be even remotely accurate it'll be a miracle. Of course. then getting one will probably be a similar feat. The last TK helmet proto looked like crap, but the sheep will line up to suckle at the MR teat just the same.

"Hey Collectors Society Members"

Damn this counts me out. Does this appear to, Mearly Resemble a marketing ploy though?

FYI, MR stated that the version used to display at the toy fair is not the final version. So don't base your judgments on the toyfair pics.

True to the film? The one with the shadow stormtrooper in it? As far as I knew these werent in any movie ever.

Not too keen on the idea of the lottery by paid membership either. I bet you that 75% of these end up on ebay at least once in their lifetime.

I probably should've quoted the post right before mine, as I was responding to a comment made in regards to the TK version soon to be released.

Either way, the color is not what I was referring to when I say accurate. The shape of the the helmet is much more critical to accuracy than any paint job. You can get away with using a different type of paint or method of coloring thats different from what technique was used for the films without it taking away from the overall appearance. However, any slight variation to the wonky screen accurate version would be very noticeable to most of us die hard trooper collectors.

I didn't mean to question the accuracy just wondering how an EU prop could ever be considered accurate as there has never been a physical prop anything that you want is "accurate".

I'm not CS member. I don't normally buy props directly from their site. I get them from ebay. But even if I was member and wanting to qualify for raffles for that helmet, it's going to be hopeless for me.
