Did you get it from Evike? If so, in the description it says the included battery is "for testing only". That means its crap. A higher voltage battery will increase your rate of fire (rof). A stronger spring, like an M100, will increase fps and "knock down" power.

Yep. I bought the same battery too. However, the charger that came with the gun will not charge anything other than the 8.4v. You would need a charger that can charge a variety NiMh batteries. I got an MRC Super Brain 960 off eBay for $15.

LOL. Yes... that's the one thing I did get along with the gun.
Thanks for the advice though... I'm going to contact them to try to get it added to my order... if not I guess I'll just end up eating another $20-something to ship this stuff too...

I wouldn't try changing the spring yourself. It requires opening up the gearbox. Power is actually pretty decent with a 9.6 and the stock spring.

To say the least, yes.
This is a completely different gearbox. A version 2 for a M4. I've been upgrading and customizing Airsoft guns since 2001 and I still need a picture reference to get it back together. 1 incorrectly installed piece and you have a big paperweight on your hands.

That's all I need to hear. I'll upgrade the battery, but I'm not ready to kill a $250 toy just yet... Thanks for the warning.
Majenko Pulse Rifle Soundboard Installation
O.K. and so we begin. I ripped open the PR tonight to begin the installation of Majenko's PR Counter/Soundboard! After removing all the stock counter electronics I started eyeballing where the board would sit and what needed to be done. Major revelation follows.
It doesn't fit...
It was apparent that some material was going to need to be removed. More eyeballing and I realized it was going to be a relatively easy operation. These screw lugs need to be removed as well as the lug on the clear window, on the right side.
The underside of the stock cover needs to be cleaned up as well.
The side of the cover needs to be opened up as well.
With that done, the cover fits back on. You loose the two top screws, but the board will be hot glued in place.
Here we can see the mods needing to done to the grenade launcher. Here we only loose one screw mount.
And with that the counter lines up perfectly in the window.
This all took about two hours to get to this point. The mods needed to the inside of the shroud and GL were very simple and the unit now fits like a glove. I used sprue cutters and a chisel in my Xacto knife to make quick work of the lugs that needed removing. Plus a little sandpaper. Tomorrow, I plan out switch placement and wiring layout. So far, I am very excited with this board!

I love it Robert, show these folks , how mods are done big buddy.....lol...you have been very helpful Im sure to show a lot of people with those Matrix PRs, how easy these steps really are ....not so difficult at all, but I am sure it will ease a lot of minds to dig into theres....thanks for sharing with all of us Rob.....Guy

Thanks Guy. I'm sure when more of Majenko's boards get into the hands of customers they will be just as excited as I am. Modding any kind of existing prop can be intimidating to someone doing it for the first time. I want to show people that while it may be involved, you can do it. You just need to plan, study, plan, and then start. I'm no expert, by far, and my way may not be the best way. But that's why I got this thread, to show what I'm doing. Hopefully others will crack open their PR's and follow along. I want to get this done this weekend so people can see it, and maybe drive the sales up for Majenko's board. Maybe then he will do a MT board!
