i thought i would post this tid bit of interesting info.
KWA USA is realesing a proper Springfield Operator replica this year. you can see it here
There are some issues with it. After speaking with KWA, they said they have no plans to release a threaded barrel for it. So we would have to wait for a 3rd party to produce one. Also the Slide is designed differently from the "Real Steal" counterpart as it does not use a barrel bushing and obviously the markings are incorrect. But, if you consider that is the closest, out of the box replica we are gonna get to an Airsoft Operator, its pretty neat.

I just pepped the Soild eye system and I'm considering resining it, I'll post pictures soon to get opinions on weather or not I should.

Well, the solid eye system was way to small, so I have to do it again, but I did just get my hands on a M1911A1 Airsoft with most of the mods from MGS3, I'll post pics when I get that in the mail later in the week, I plan on painting it the right colors since It's all black, and fixing the few things that aren't the same.

I hate to be a total nitpicker but... that's what this forum's for, right?
Yes, I believe this is the closest we will get to an airsoft MC Operator, but it has only 3 rail slots as opposed to the 4 on the real one, and the rail tapers at the end. And of course there is no market for aftermarket KWA parts...so we won't ever get a Springfield rollmark on that slide, and who knows what we could do about a chrome threaded barrel and chrome barrel bushing. I'm not even sure if the KWA will take aftermarket triggers. Rrrrrgh KWA's proprietary-ness can be really frustrating sometimes.
I personally have been obsessed with the Springfield MC Operator due to MGS4 and the fact that it just shoots like....a boss :love (I ended up buying a Dan Wesson instead)
For me the eternal question is: who the hell made this Big Boss Custom??
This photo has been floating around for years, and I basically gave up but it seems this is the best place I could at least find someone to share my frustration
Where did they get the National Match rollmark on that slide?? I've been trying to track it down for years but I'm pretty sure the builder was Japanese...

So.......it's basically just high grade plastic machined and custom whatever'd into Big Boss's custom 1911? Interesting. On one hand, I'm really sad that there isn't some crazy custom metal work being done by an uncontactable japanese hobbyist, but on the other hand I'm really glad there isn't some crazy custom metal work being done by an uncontactable japanese hobbyist. My search is over.

Hello everyone. bumpin this thread because I'm looking for a H&K Mark 23 pistol with LAM. A "silencer" would be cool but not needed.
I have been looking for a few weeks now and havent found what i needed. at this point I'd settle for a cheapy one.

The civilian released MK23 will set you back about $1800.00 before the LAM unit.
Toko Mauri used to do the MK23, but I think its OOP now.

Aside from being mostly plastic the Marui MK23 Socom is nice, mainly from the fact the airsoft silencer actually works. It also comes with a mock LAM that lights up.
You can find them every now and then on ebay, and the buy/sell section of airsoftforum.com always has been useful to me.

Airsoft most definitely. I found out that the real thing is not leagal in California. I checked out the forum and the format is hard to figure out, but I did find a couple potential buys.
