Marty McFly's Skateboard - Valterra Splatter Deck Conversion

Thank you for the update. Good to hear that the boards are shipping out again! Thank you for taking the pictures of both the Valterra's and the Pitbulls, they are very cool indeed!
In regards to the copers, it is completely understandable that Jerry Madrid doesn't want to remove the copers from his board. I don't think I would if I had it myself. Had he agreed, was your plan to make a mould yourself? or would Madrid be willing to help make it with you? If you could get another coper from someone here, again, maybe Jerry would be willing to help you and us out by making a mould. I'm pretty sure most people on here and everyone that bought a board would buy a set to go with the new boards they've purchased, we're all looking for the most accurate Marty Board possible. :) By maybe taking a preorder or a list of people that do want a set, it would show Madrid how many people want them. Once again, thank you for you continued help with keeping us updated on the Valterra's and also the help on the extras.

Charlie :)

Charlie, I will make the molds myself if someone here wants to lend a proper coper or two. Not sure how else I can help with that unless someone lends theirs as I don't have access to the right copers here.

Mike (Pitbull), I've requested that you be moved to the very front of the line. Your board(s) be the very next to ship out. I don't know exactly what you ordered, but as you could see from the photos I took two days ago, Madrid has a bunch of boards on deck so I know they can fulfill your order. They're shipping boards out as fast as they can. In fact, everyone's skateboard orders will be fulfilled soon. Can't happen soon enough for me either! As for the 30th Anniversary T-shirt you requested, send me a PM with your shirt size and which shirt you want and I'll order one for you and have it drop-shipped to you right from the T-shirt factory.

COA's - Yes, the COA's are finally shipping. Madrid is starting to include COA's with the boards as they're shipped now. For everyone who already got their boards, but didn't get a COA, one will be mailed to you. Don't be confused by OUTATIME1978's post about downloading and printing his own COA - you are not expected to print out your own COA. Ken only gave OUTATIME1978 the option to do that if he wanted to, but he's still getting a COA mailed to him, as are the rest of you.

I have these coper (see pic) that are the flat bottom version NOS copers. The notched out area in the center is slightly bigger than the pictures of the original prop board, but you're welcome to borrow them for molding. FYI......I live in Mission Viejo.

The above copers will be too wide for the correct trucks. Problem is these replicas' trucks are not the correct size. The solution would be to have two sizes or offer a one size that could be trimmed down on the ends to fit vintage tracker trucks.

If the original prop copers could be throughly photographed I could prepare a master pattern if I don't have an exact match already. To my eye the width of flat bottom looks greater than Z-flex on Madrid's board. Also, do the movie boards have a shallow notch on the outer facing edge like the rounded replicas' copers?

The wheels are in, and the Valterras are shipping out. In fact, I'm headed to Madrid in about an hour and I'll try to take some photos for you guys. I know this has been a bit of a journey, but the end is in sight. Also, if I sent you some Madrid stickers for your flat-bottomed copers, please make a post so I know (and others know) that they actually arrived. Thanks everybody.

Nice to see more photos! Did you receive my PM of 8 December / read my message on page 14 of this thread? Sorry, I know you're busy, but it's basically 2 weeks later and I haven't had a reply. I can't log into the site to see progress and I'm really sorry but, with respect, that Google form isn't fit for purpose. It doesn't have any space for me to write my concern - how are you supposed to know what my query is? Furthermore, it won't let me submit without selecting what size T-shirt I ordered. I didn't order a t-shirt!

There really should be a proper contact button on the homepage of the website. Yes, you can find a form at the bottom of the FAQ page, but that's a bit odd.

I haven't had an e-mail since the apologetic one of 4 December, stating the new wheels were expected the next day and the boards will "continue to ship throughout next week." Nearly three weeks ago. I appreciate Madrid are waiting for the wheels, but there was a promise to maintain better communication and we're still left in the dark.

As I said before, there's no hurry for my order as you're shipping to my friend and I'll come and collect it... maybe sometime next year! If I'm the very last recipient, that's fine. However, you have $325 of my money and have had it for eight weeks now. It would be nice to get a reply to my queries and be kept updated... I shouldn't have to join a third party's forum just to find out what's going on and be able to talk to you. I appreciate skateboards were never your area and it's really good you're helping out... if you could pass my comments on to the person who is failing to talk to us (I assume Ken), that would be most appreciated. As my money is probably sitting in his account and earning him a nice bit of interest (multiplied by however many skateboards have been waiting to ship), it would be great to get a reply. Thanks!

Wow this really sucks for waiting as long as i did. I just got my board with scuffs and parts not fitting. The board was suppose to come shrink wrapped and it didnt. What the hell is this crap knightlife????????

Ah, the gift that keeps on giving. Mike, it sucks that your board showed up like that. Not sure what to even say about it. To my knowledge, you're the first one with a coper that doesn't fit. You should ship it right back to Madrid. I'll have them put you right back at the top of the shipping list. Every board I've seen has been shrink wrapped and packed well enough that it wouldn't move around in the box. When I stopped by Madrid last week, I even snapped a photo of a guy who was working on the shrink wrapper. Well, I could guess about how a board got out like that, or comment about how sick of all this I am too - but instead, I'll just try to help make sure you get a good board in the end. I offered you the shirt you requested, but I never got a PM about which one you wanted, or what size...

Mike,

I'll talk to Ken and Madrid and see what can be done. Sorry this has been such a negative experience for you.

My boards showed up late Friday. One of the copers on mine didn't fit well either. I had to apply quite a bit of force to get it back on there flush. The ones on the other board seemed to be fine though. Mine did come shrink-wrapped with the COAs included.

I did notice that the yellow plastic the Fly wheels are made off differ from the set I bough from Madrid earlier in the year. The yellow on the earlier set was a little deeper in color and I think it had a glossier finish (I sold them, so I don't have them on hand to compare) any longer. I have no idea how these stack up to the original prop. I'm not too fussy about it, but I did wonder.

Looks good on the shelf though :)

Retro,

I did get your message and I've sent a second request about your board. I'll get back to you asap.

Much appreciated! As I said, if mine's the last one out of the factory, it's no problem - I'm not going to be there to enjoy it until sometime in the middle of next year. Just appreciate you looking into things for me! :)

If you could let me know as and when you know about the other parts, that'd be fab!

Cheers for all the extra effort - it is greatly appreciated!

Can i get an email with specific instructions on what i can do to get a replacement board that the copers fit and have the board shrink wrapped???

Heres my email once again evilempire42@msn.com

Some updates:

Maton - your board is #9 from the top of Madrid's shipping list, so you should get tracking information any day now.

Retro - your board was pretty far from the top of Madrid's shipping list, but I had them bump you up closer to the top, so you should get tracking information any day now.

Ben Shenton - your board is #119 from the top. I had them bump it up a little, but your order was placed relatively recently compared to most of the other guys here. I don't know how many boards Madrid ships out per day, or if they ship every single day, but it shouldn't be too long before you get tracking info.

Pitbull - I've explained your situation to both Ken & Madrid. We'reGoingBack.com will pay for your return shipping and take extra care to make sure your replacement board isn't scuffed, has copers that fit and is shrink-wrapped. Let me know if there's anything else I can do. Ken has your email address and will be reaching out to you directly. In the event he takes too long, here's his email: Ken@weregoingback.com.

If anyone else still has any issues or wants an update on their order, send me a PM.

Did anyone else receive there boards before Christmas? Mine was bought for my 30th birthday present. My birthday was back on 4th October, so hoped it was coming late October. In the end I said, oh well never mind, maybe I can get it as a Christmas present instead. Hoped it would arrive last week. Nope. :( I guess I'll have to have it as a New Years present.

Yes, thank you. I saw it. :):thumbsup Looking forward to receiving my board soon! I was just wondering if anyone on here had received there board before Christmas and was curious to know if any of newly completed boards, that were waiting for wheels, had shipped before Christmas or if they were going out after Christmas. Anyway, thanks for the update.
