Mandalorian Season 3

It had both great action and STUPID stuff happening. Sadly, there was no balance between them.

I think that the IG 12 puppet was just a stupid idea. It would have been so much better if Grogu had not been in the suit, jumped between the two Mandalorian’s, and said the word no as his first real spoken word!

Also, how did Gideon build a complete army on the Mandalorian home world, with Mandalorian’s living on it, and they never noticed any of it going on?

Total 180 from last week. Really enjoyed it, episode was jam packed and gets back to taking things seriously. Some logic nitpicks here and there but this show has always had those, so I won't dwell on them.

On paper the IG-12 gag sounds ridiculously stupid but seeing it play out really worked for me. Very funny bit and reminded me how much I missed Grogu annoying the hell out of Din and him sighing in frustration. "This isn't working for me" was a great line

Not really a fan of Gideon's new suit, but these new Imperial Super Commandos??? I cannot stop looking at them, they're gorgeous. Adding that helmet to my ever-growing wish list.

Now to speculate...The Armorer has to be a spy for Gideon at this point, right? She's the only other one with horns on her helmet, she's acted sus from day 1, she randomly bent the rules for Bo just so she could unite all the factions and bring them to Mandalore, just before they get to the GREAT FORGE she chooses to fly the injured back to the fleet, and perhaps the biggest clue of all — the episode is titled 'The Spies,' but as far as we know the only spy was Elia Kane in the beginning. If this show has done anything consistently, it's that the episode titles commonly refer to more than one character. My money is on her being in cahoots with Gideon this whole time, working slowly to bring the factions together only to walk them right into a trap. Imagine Din's crisis of faith when he discovers his religious leader was just bullshitting them all along...

Here were my 2 plot holes that I hope are answered...

1) We can assume, based on the surroundings, that the Shadow Council scene was in Gideon's base on Mandalore. If that's so, then how was he able to make any transmissions? The magnetic interference was supposed to make that impossible.

2) They had ONE ship on the planet, The Gauntlet. So where was Axe Wolves going to "warn" anyone. He can't send a transmission & the fleet is in low orbit. I'm not seeing that he'd be able to fly to them with a jetpack.

IDK, but I'm sure there's some sort of explanation.

I'll tell you what WILL chap my hide... If we go through this season with the focus being in reunifying & reclaiming Mandalore, but then EVERYONE other that Din & maybe Bo are killed.

I'm assuming the Empire has the technology to bypass that atmosphere issue. As for Axe Woves flying away to call for reinforcements...I had the same confusion. That doesn't make any sense.

I had the same thought about the Imperial tech, but then I remembered that the Mandalorians are using an Imperial Light Cruiser as their main ship, so they should have it as well.

I'm thinking that the interference is caused by the imperials to actively make sure that the remaining mandalorians on world can't organize while Gideon is building his forces.

The Armorer leaving is pretty suspicious and convenient, maybe she has a deal with Gideon to have access to the great forge if she betrays the remaining Mandalorian, she would be making the same mistake as Bo in trusting Gideon.

Great episode IMO. wish this was episode 2 of this season.

Yup... When she volunteered to take them to the ship, it was a red flag to me simply because I figured she'd be the one to judge the Great Forge. Plus, every sequence with her taking the Mandos to the cruiser had me anticipating some sort of attack on the fleet.

Maybe he only needs to pass the cloud layer to dispatch a message from there?

I really enjoyed this episode! The pace was good, the VFX, music and sound editing were awesome and the ending was really gripping. I guess we will see a massive battle in space next week. I would say, Gideon will kick Mando over a cliff into the deep, Mando splashes into the water and then emerges again, riding the Mythosaur. Together they will make short work of the Imperials and their base.

I rofled hard when I saw IG-12. The constant "yes" / "no" made my day. I have a buddy who is a father of three. I told him that he should never allow his boys to see this because I know that they would immediately insist on getting one for themselves in real-life. My friend replied, it was already too late because HE wanted one for himself now!

However, Grogu could have made short work of the Troopers and might have thrown all of them over the cliff with one focused Force blow. And Gideon might have knocked Mando's helmet off when he was kneeling before him. Ah well. :)

OH! Maybe he will save the day during the space battle?
I kinda hope not. I'd love to see him again & especially SLAVE 1, but for a show that kind of ham fistedly uses entire episodes to set up a future reference, Fett appearing now would really seem unearned.

I didn't expect the horns on Gideons helmet also. I think that showing up again is a sign that we might get some exposition from Bo explaining to Din about the Conquest of Mandalore by Maul. I think it will be a huge betrayal for Din to find out that he was rejected from The Way for taking his helmet off, but The Armorer might have been a follower of Maul without him even being a Mandalorian. I think the remaining Mandalorians would have a problem with the armorer following maul especially Paz, if he had survived to find that out.

Following this logic though, I think Gideon might actually be Mandalorian, even a Maul follower as well. He seems to have too much skin in this Mandalorian game also knowledge of the planet Mandalore itself. I wouldn't be surprised if Gideon is using the Imperials to fund his takeover of Mandalore only to establish his dark rule of the Mandalorians and betray the remaining imperials to become the strongest force in the galaxy, bigger than new republic and first order.
