Question for those who've used a stencil on a saber before: I put myself down for one set, but I've never done this before. Most folks seem to be getting multiple stencils. Would a noob require more than one stencil... is it that difficult to get right?

If you’re careful, check yourself multiple times before sticking them down and have a steady hand you’ll be fine. But even then sometimes mistakes happen. It’s really up to you. If you end up not using the spare, you’ll have no trouble selling it once I run out of them. Even after five runs over two years people seem to keep asking for them.
