Let's Talk All Things Star Wars (Again)

Okay, so it's been below zero here where I live. And I feel like I'm living on Hoth right now. And its got me wondering....

They wear a hat, often with a scarf wrapped around it. How do they keep that on? I never could figure it out. Is there some velcro or stitching going on?

OK, now I have an excuse to watch it again....

Wrapped tightly enough and tucked into itself like a turban and it ain't goin' nowhere.

Other times wrapped around the neck several times and even tied in a knot.

There is velcro there, under the ear flaps and loops, but I'd think a scarf around the head would stay on well enough if it was just wrapped and tucked in.

I wouldn't be surprised if the scarves were improvised by the extras themselves more than a conscious decision by a costume designer. The weather was harsher than the production team had expected, and the hat has only a single layer of fabric at the top, so additional protection would have been needed.

The hat actually came with a type of face mask and I think the loops were actually supposed to hold its straps in place, but it is difficult to spot for sure in any picture. For one thing, it didn't provide any protection against the cold around the neck.

I am still waiting for a reason to have hope beyond Andor Season 2. I'll bet they are planning a spinoff with Bix, or some other character. I don't mind as long as they can maintain the quality of writing, casting, and production that we've seen so far.

Still, I am glad I cashed out of my Disney stock when it started to nosedive. I reinvested in some other stuff and bought myself a Rolex.

Sorrry if I am late to this epiphany BUT are there people who empathize with Anakin as though he were in the right? Ya I know, far stretch of the imagination for the 456 first crowd but what if some people actually saw this 123 456..... what a horrible feeling that gives me. I feel ill thinking about it. Having little ani be your hero, your youth hero, like the goonies or Home alone and then he turns out like ..... well, like Culkin in The Good Son. How do you, as a child or young adult, go to school after episode 3 comes out and you had spent years of your childhood shaping your in-school persona around Ani? You had all the gear the lunchbox, the shirts, the costumes, did several halloweens as ani, you jazzed about Pod racers and "spinning" and then suddenly you are the creepy kid who defends Ani in every argument because Lucas and your parents set you up. Looking at it from that perspective makes me ill. What a messed up childhood. Already knowing he is Vader releases you from all of that. My heart goes out to those who didn't know, how ever rare that occurrence was.

Or if their parents went chronological and made them do Clone Wars in-between.

I asked my nephew (21yo) if he wanted to see it because he's only ever seen The Clone Wars movie, Rogue One, and TFA in the theater. He really thought about it before saying "maybe". That's how ticked he is about modern SW.

Does he like seeing movies in the theater in general? I feel like that preference has been dying faster than SW.

I'm just wondering where Star Wars can actually go now in terms of actually moving the story forward. Sure, you can do side stories, back stories, origin stories, ad infinitum--but none of that actually continues Star Wars it just fills in blanks. Some people want that stuff some don't. Many people said "I don't need to see Han Solo's origin." Personally, I don't need to see the Jedi's origin. Honestly, I could go the rest of my life and never see another light saber battle and be fine with it. Me, I like space battles, but not just ships flying around like angry hornets. They need story and structure. Give me more war stories like Rogue One, but again that is not really moving forward.

But, back to my original point, where can you go with ST that actually moves the story forward? Luke, Han and Leia are gone. Whose left other than Rey? and lets face it, nobody cares about seeing more Rey. And even if they do use her what can they do? Along comes the Empire2.0 or the rise of the Second Order? Another planet blower upper thing? Even if she started up the Jedi again, what are they going to do? Who is there to fight that is not another rehash?

In the EU Dark Horse comics, they had some cool ideas.

In Star Wars: Legacy, it was over 100 years later, with Cade Skywalker and some other descendants of the originals. The galaxy is bit of a different place after so many years. Cool idea, with mixed results in execution.

Also, Star Wars Visions gave us some jumping off points too. I wouldn't mind departing this galaxy or universe entirely. It can still be Wars in the Stars.

Once again, I want to see those independent studios that worked on Visions adapting pieces of the EU.
